will adding peanut butter into my diet causes gain weight? i have been craving for peanut butter and i wonder if it is ok if i still eat them, making sure that i don go over my daily calorie intake. i find that it is also very filling, i ate 4 tbsp before working out and i felt grreat throughout the day. i have read that it is alright to eat them but i am so afraid i would gain weight if i started eating them 2 tbsp daily. thanks for your help.

You can eat whatever you want and, as long as you're in your calorie range, still lose weight. (I wouldn't suggest eating your calories entirely in doughnuts, however :P) Peanut butter has healthy fats and protein; it's a perfectly healthy food, just because it is calorie-dense, it is usually not considered 'diet-friendly'.

i think as long as you stay within your calorie limit, you will be alright.

peanut butter is actually a good source of protein for you.

ah peanut butter is amazing. It's what I get the majority of my fat intake from, I don't know what I'd do without it haha.
It's totally fine as long as you're still under your calorie limit. =]

Have you tried Better 'n Peanut Butter www.betternpeanutbutter.com?  A friend of mine turned me onto this product a few months ago and I have already gone through a few jars.  It even works well when you are baking with it.  For 2 tablespoons you are looking at 100 calories and 2.5 grams of fat!  I find it at Trader Joes, but I think other specialty stores probably carry it too.  I just thought I would let you know about it since it sounds like you love peanut butter as much as I do yet you are still concerned about your weight like I am.  Good luck with your weight loss!

What you have to watch out for with peanut butter is the trans fat (hydrogenated oil).  Trans fat is also used in many products listed as "low fat".  So avoid low fat peanut butter.  The best kind is Natural peanut butter, but it's messy.  I've found a good compromise.  It's Skippy Natural.  It's creamy like normal peanut butter, but it has no trans fat.  Instead they use palm oil, which is very good for you.  Enjoy!
