What to put peanut butter on?

Quote  |  Reply
I love peanut butter, but I always have it on crackers. I want to mix it up with something healthier. My mom says bananas are a good idea (I LOVE bananas too), but I want more ideas so I can have a variety. What do you think I should use with peanut butter?

as a biased peanut-butter lover, i say everything. but apples, applesauce, almonds.  if you put it in between a sliced banana and freeze it, it's pretty awesome actually. this might sound weird too but i take regular uncooked oatmeal and dip a spoon in peanut butter and then dip it in the oatmeal. it's pretty good. slightly sweet too. i ran out of ideas. sorry.
Get a light tortilla, spread on the PB, put in some chopped banana and grill,. Maybe a smidge of honey. great for lunch if you woke up too late. With a glass of milk too. Crunhy outside, gooey inside
You can mix it in porridge. I dont like it like that tho
I do like adding a bit of soy milk or water, mixing it, microwaving it until it thickens up (not too long or it burns) to sauce consistancy and having it on low-fat icecream for when i'm under cals - microwaving brings out the flavour.
Can have on half an english muffin, maybe sprinkle on som bran to make it crunch more
Try recipeis for peanut butter cookeis maybe
Try putting it on celery.  Nice and crunchy, adds some juiciness and very few calories.  PB is so good for you!
I love peanut butter with semi-sweet chocolate morsels.  It's definitely not low-cal, but it's a nice end-of-week treat.
Im so bad.
I have these 33 cal, low-fat bikkies. They're quite small. I smear a bit of reduced fat PB on them, then half a marshmallo and microwave and the marshmallow puffs up and PB melts and cookie goes soft. I dont do it often - only when I'm really under cals and have met my daily nutritional requirements.
Its just diet (as in healthy diet) trash really.
I like making peanut sauces with peanut butter, ginger, soy sauce, and cilantro....  awesome on chicken and broccoli.  (I use PB2 though- fewer calories)
I love PB2 sauce with rice and veggies. I just cook my rice as usual and add extra watered down PB2 (or regular watered down peanut butter) to make it a bit soupy, and mix. YUM. Or if I'm feeling like more work, I'll make a sauce similar to meg's ^^.
Aside from the obvious pbandJ sandwhich,  I love it on apples, pancakes, waffles. If you melt it slightly you can get more coverage with less peanut butter.

You an also make grilled peanut butter {like grilled cheese but with peanut butter}, which is yummy but not the lowest cal, you can add bananas, apple slices or marsmallo fluff {again not the healthiest}.

Almost anything.

there are also many savory asian recipes that use peanut butter.
BANANAS!!!!

I cut up a banana and put a serving of natural pb in a bowl and mix it up. Sooooooo good.

And, of course... Celery. But I find I eat more PB if i do this.
everyones gonna hate me, but pieces of chocolate! milk chocolate or dark chocolate pieces dipped in peanut butter....the same effect as recee's but SO much better.
Spread a little peanut butter on a wasa crispbread and top with fresh blueberries. Sublime.
Peanut butter is good on crumpets! Yummy!

PB is good on:

waffles,

pancakes,

mixed into ice cream,

mixed into yogurt,

mixed into oatmeal (and add some coco powder...yum!),

on reduced fat pop-tarts,

on rice cakes (caramel flavored workes best),

as a dip to celery, carrots, and any veggie (can get a bit experimental),

as a side with the 100 calorie packs (oreo, chips ahoy, teddy grams),

in a smoothie with apples, cinnamon, and coco powder,

My bf likes to dip the PB spoon into a bowl of cheerios,

But my ultimate favorite is: Pita bread with a thin layer of nutella chocolate spread and a thin layer of PB topped with some cinnamon powder and nuked in the micro for a couple of seconds!!!
Whenever i have peanut butter i always put it on a brown plain rice cake. mmm! very good.. you've got your carb and protein in there. Perfect for after a workout too!
maybe I'm a weirdo, but here's what I do: I take a tbsp or so of strawberry jam [or preserves or whatever], and a tbsp of PB, and mix them both in a microwave-safe bowl. Then, I heat them for like.. a minute [long enough..just make sure it doesn't burn] and then mix it some more. it's a yummy dip for apples, bananas, toast, anything! and good for you :D
That sounds really good, I do the same thing without warming it up. I am banned from PB for a while though. I can't be trusted lol.
peanut butter on rice cakes, top with raisins and sugar free maple syrup. love it!
PB2 is great on anything!!
spread it on an english muffin and top with raisins! SO good! :)
