On the one hand, I'm so proud of myself that the binge stuck to fruit, on the other- it was a binge nevertheless. I'm also proud that it was a 700 calorie binge, not the usual +3000 binge!

So I just consumed about 700 calories worth of apples. I don't believe in 'negative-calorie foods', but all in all, an apple binge is the best of the binges I could have had no?

Please tell me something to make me feel a bit better about myself!

I definitely wish I'd just pigged out on apples as opposed to the raspberry licorice I just ate...

Binging on apples sounds like quite a victory!

700 calories worth of apples is great compared to 700 calories worth of Snickers (just as an example) because you only consumeed 2.7 grams of fat with the apples compared to 35 grams of fat you would have gotten from the snickers!

Stick with the fruit and healthy veggies (carrots, celery, etc) and your binges will not have such a massive affect on your total calorie intake! Good job!

Was 8 large apples. They weigh about 180g each and I like sprinkling them with splenda or cutting them in thin slices and sticking them in the microwave for a couple minutes- sooo good

About the licorice, I bet it wasn't 700 calories at least! Good think they don't have licorice in Spain lol

I too am trying to switch my snack attacks to fruit - I find that if I take the time to slice it up I have longer to think about how much of it I really should eat. But yay for better food choices!

The splenda and microwave trick is great, cos it seems like you're bingeing on something bad and sweet, but not really. That could probably help you with the switch :)

lol 8 apples.  I predict very interesting digestive issues from this, but I can't figure out if you would have the runs or constipation...

I've pigged out on apples before, like 1400 calorie binges on apples hahaha, and they make me go to the bathroom quite regularly actually!

As for micro-waving them, I cut them into slices about 5mm thick and scatter them on a plate. Then sprinkle them with some splenda and cinnamon. Microwave for about 1 minute if the apple is golden, 1 minute 30 secs if the apple is red and 2 minutes if the apple is green at max power. They taste soooo good, honstly, delicious.

go try it and tell me if you like it!

Oh I've done the same thing with pineapples a couple times.  Really though, it fills you up and a 700 calorie binge could actually still fit into your daily calorie intake unless you do it after you've already hit your cap.  I binged on pineapples and down 1000 calories worth around noon once, which put me near 1700 calories for the day, so I had a light dinner and I was actually still on track, haha.

I dunno if I'd even call binging on fruit "binging" to be honest.  700 calories is within a meal range, so you just had a meal of apples!

Hi! I know what you mean, but I called it a binge because of the feelings that came after it. I've eaten 1400 calories worth of apples before, conciously. This time it was the "out of control business". It was 700 cals over my limit, but oh well! nothing that can't be fixed in due course right??

I love pineapple too btw :)

They usually don't get mushy.  Try slicing apples up, sprinkling with cinnamon, and microwaving for 1-2 minutes.  My mom used to make it for snacks when my brothers and I were little.. delicious.

Hahahaha, wtf?! Amazing how something so tasty can be given different uses, like clubs, lol!

sadly, no :( that could be easily fixed.

I binge for emotional issues most of the time, and the rest just because i feel the need to eat, not because I'm even hungry at all, quite sad actually!

Let us know what you thought of it when you try it!

Haha i love this forum..i have a real problem with fruit. i took down almost half a canteloupe today...sooo worth it. and at least after 700 calories worth of apples you're full....700 calories of cake is like a piece and a half (if it's the good kind that's actually worth a binge lol) I'm a huge apple fanatic. When I was away at school the fruit supply was endless at the dining hall so i would have 9 apples a day on many occasions.  These were small apples, though, so it wasn't 700 calories, but 9 apples is 9 apples.
