Hey i dont know if there are certain exercises to obtain this look, but i love it when girls have nice tight stomches and nicely visible pelvis bones, not like visable because they are so skinny but visable because they are toned. Are their certain crunches and things to do to get them after you have lost the fat around the stomach?? Or is it just your body shape?? Any takes on this would be good!

You can't tone bone.

I think you know what i ment, obviously i know you cant tone bone but you can tone your stomache muscle around that area for it to have a nice shape. I was only curious and there is no need for knarky answers like that back!

No offense, but I really did think that you were asking that. I wasn't trying to be "snarky". After seeing people post about only burning 300 calories in a day (because they don't understand that calories are burned just through living), I've taken to not assuming anything about the poster.

I think it's going to be a combination of fat loss and genetics - some people will have visible pelvic bones and some won't, no matter how low their body fat. I'm not sure that there'd be an exercise that would change that.

Sorry that I offended you.

Yes i know hat you mean about some posts. I was just wondering because you see some woman (mostly celebs) who have a pelvic area shape like a man! And was just wondering if it was down to the 100's of hours they use with a personnal trainer or they are just like that!

Thanks for your input?! Haha Foot in mouth

It's mostly due to all the time spent photoshopping their pictures.

mmmm well yes maybe thats a big part!! didn't just mean celebs i have seen plenty of people in the skin who look like this!! Anyway moving on!

Are you talking about the V-shape in that area? If so, those are ab muscles.

As you can see I don't have them..yet! But in my profile is a picture of Ryan Reynolds, he has them. Check it out.

Somebody who undestands what i am saying!!! That is all i was asking, if you exercise the lower ab muscles more you will get more defined in that area, yes? Wish i never posted this question!!! Haha

When I'm at the height of my running season (and my lowest body fat percentage), I get this look.  I don't really do anything else differently--they just seem to pop up (out?...;) ) when my BF percentage gets to a certain point.  I love the look too, but frankly, maintaining it when I'm not running 50+ miles a week and watching what I'm eating 24/7 is close to impossible.

Having said that, there are lots of great ab/core exercises that can keep the stomach tight and help achieve close to that look.  PM if you're interested, and I'll walk you through some of them :)

i think it is something like the collar bone some peoples are more prominant when average/thin then others.

I have them, I'm not quite sure how I got them haha (I don't remember ever not having them, but when I was younger I never paid that much attention). But I took a pilates class and that really worked for toning my stomach (and it's not like it would hurt anyway, even if you don't achieve the pelvic-bone look, lol).

Second the pilates. And crunches. I do about 6 variations of sit-up/crunch exercises one after the other (totalling at around 100 crunches). I've still got some weight to lose, but I'm definitely seeing results and toning.

I'm revising my answer. If you want a pelvic area like a model's, take advice from this: 4 Things Your Girlfriend Should Know.

"That being said, you still need to get the most bang out of your training buck, and that includes ditching the glute-buster machine and focusing more on the compound movements. Joe Dowdell, owner of Peak Performance in NYC, trains many of the top female models in the city and their programming includes squats, deadlifts, chin-ups, bench variations, sled dragging, and tons of energy system work.

Yes, Victoria's Secret models are doing squats and deadlifts. And yes, that's completely hot. Guess what they're not doing? Watching Oprah every day while walking on the treadmill for 60 minutes."

There is a picture of Gisele that I think illustrates the stomach you'd like, and apparently she's pretty bad ass when it comes to Romanian Deadlits, so you could give those a try.

I get what your saying. My best friend who is natrually skinny and tall (I hate her for that but you really cant hate genetics) has that v shape natrually. She never works out. I thought it was kinda weird and gross b.c I thought only guys should have that but ehh what did I know in high school.  I dont know if she still has it or not because well I havnt see her in a bathen suit in a while.

The Roman Chair really works lower abs, especially if you extend your legs out horizontaly instead of just bringing them up with legs bent.  If there is no actual equipment you can do the same movement on a chin up bar.

4 Things Your Girlfriend Should Know.

This article is awesome.  Thanks for sharing!

i didnt really read any of the posts after the first few went completely off topic.

but i have the v-shape thing, so here's my routine, in short, summarized.

i weight train 5 days a week. i do heavy lifting for my legs and lower body and moderate weight for my upper body. when im done i do 30-45 minutes of interval cardio.

i do like, 5 minutes of ab exercises 3 times a week. i dont overdo it like alot of people seem to do, and i still have the v-shape. my diet also 95% kicks a**.

but, besides all of that, which i do credit my lean waist to, hanging chair leg lifts are absolutely the #1 reason i have the v-shape. BUT the reason i told you everything else first is because i dont want you to think thats the only thing you have to do to get it, because if i didnt do any of the other stuff, i wouldnt have it.

hope i helped

may i add collar bones to that, im always really jealous of people with nice collar bones.

mine only look cool if i stick my shoulder up funny and kinda suck it in haha

Thanks guy's your comments really helped i will definatley be tying a few new things out.  And that article was ace Amethystgirl.
