pelvic bones!!!
Hey i dont know if there are certain exercises to obtain this look, but i love it when girls have nice tight stomches and nicely visible pelvis bones, not like visable because they are so skinny but visable because they are toned. Are their certain crunches and things to do to get them after you have lost the fat around the stomach?? Or is it just your body shape?? Any takes on this would be good!
With all due respect, I think apsiring to have bones sticking out is sick, and that when I see BONES coming out of people ESPECIALLY in the pelvic area, all I can think about is an old horse...
Now that I got that off of my chest, you will prolly need to achieve a super FLAT tummy to get this grotesque look, so forget about doing hundreds of sit ups because that will make your belly and waist seem thicker and healthier.
Stick to something like pilates, and stretching. Although you will still prolly have to get to a nastily low body weight to have these bones protrude, unless you have Big bones...
Have fun, and enjoy your bones.
I think you got the wrong end of the stick, i didn't actually mean bone's sticking out i just didnt know how to word it!
If you read the replies you will see i meant have toned lower abs that are carved in to a nice v shape, so i wont be starving myself and enjoying my "bones", i will be enjoying myself doing the exercises that people who acheive this toned look suggested to me!! All that takes to acheive the "v" look i was talking about is a good healthy diet and plenty of stomach exercise of the right kind!!
I know exactly what you mean. You're not talking about pelvic bones, they're ab muscles...lower ab muscles. Very hard to obtain but, imo, very sexy on either gender. For me I'd have to lose some lbs off my hips and waist so those muscles can come shining through. I'm with you, I love the look and hope to have it one day too!
Bigbitty - take a gander at the picture of Ryan Reynolds a previous poster has in his gallery (tommy21pmp), you'll see what she's talking about and that your nasty comments were uncalled for.
Thanks for that toch27 ![]()
There is no need for some comments posted on here, some people just shoot you down before they even have the full understanding of what you mean.
We will have those lovely strong lower abs one day!
My pelvic bone is now becoming nicely visable, and no im not just skin and bones, i've got pretty good muscle tone. You can just about see it on my latest gallery picks but there where taken early december and i've made some improvements since then.
For me they showed up when my body fat % got low enough, however it is all abit of a balancing act, i didn't really like the way the rest of my body looked when my i got that low on fat ... yeah abbs where really starting to look fab, really want to go abit lower on the body fat so they'd really pop. BUT!!!! arms got too skinny ... ugh!
Right now im working on building up the muscle on my upper body specifically my arms and shoulders so that next time i try and get my abbs (and pelvic bone) to pop out and look fab, i'll not be quite so skinny everywhere else.
Basically what it comes down to is LOW LOW LOW body fat, but to be able to carry it off without looking like a stick insect you need to build a good amount of muscle on the rest of your body.
actually...what you are referring to is not a bone....I believe you are referring to the external oblique
The external oblique is situated on the lateral and anterior parts of the abdomen. It is broad, thin, and irregularly quadrilateral, its muscular portion occupying the side. In most humans (especially males), the oblique is not visible, due to subcutaneous fat deposits and the small size of the muscle (Wiki); however…you will see it in very very well developed physiques…mostly track athletes, and fighters, and swimmers. That muscle on my body has actually gotten bigger since I’ve done side crunches. Holding 35LB plate, I lean to one side, and come back up. There is a certain Machine/”stand” that can help isolate the movement also. When it’s fully developed it looks like a “tear drop” on the side of the abs. women love to see this on men…especially since it’s not a common thing to see.

You know what I think is NASTY, the fact that you can never tell in these forums. There are so many pro ED ppl on here, you never know what you are going to find. And excuse me, but if you give your post a retarded title then don't expect it to be taken lightly.Learn some anatomy.
When I had PND I had to stay in the same unit with the really BAD ED girls, and it was horrific. I would NEVER want to see that happen to someone. So when I see a post that is seemingly aspiring to that, I get pi$$ed.
So you can go have a diet coke and a smile, and shut the heck up, bc I stand by what I said. The BF% to acheive that "LOOK" is DANGEROUSLY low, and if you don't like it suck on it.
I just hope you don't end up in a Psych ward getting force fed ensure, and being watched for hours after EVERY MEAL.
daaaaaamn son....she said suck it....
(look at me instigating crap....lol)
whats pnd

It depends on a person's body composition as to how bony they actually are. Even when I was around 30% body fat or more I still had my damn hip bones sticking out- it gets to be a pain when I try and surf cause I always bruise the bones on the board. :P So you don't nessicarily need a flat tummy to achieve the "grotesque" boney look.
But to the OP- back when I could train more I did get that nice line of muscle you're looking to achieve. I can't remember exactly what I was doing but I think I was concentrating on lower ab exercises at the time- reverse crunch and whatnot. Losing overall fat helps too- I think I was around 22% body fat when I could actually see the lines of the muscles. So keep working at it and you'll get there. :) Eddie's tips will probably help better than mine because I don't know what the heck I was doing at the time. :D
Well "bigbityy" you can "suck on it" because as Dirktwolf said he had lines of visible muscle in this area when he had 22% body fat, which is quite healthy, so think you could be offending quite a few people with your nasty attitude towards these forums. I like your journals too about when you dream of "punching people" in the face, you seem like a nice person with genuin opinions?? Haha. So dont bother posting any more comments when all you do is make people feel like crap with your correctly put "nasty" comments.
If you stopping letting your mouth run away with you and actually realised what we are talking about is not to "aspire" to have bones sticking out but to have a well toned lower abdomen maybe you could join in and actually have a discussion and not just fire everybody down who say's something you do not like. If you dont like it, DONT READ IT!!
You have offiacialy been blocked, i do not wish to read any more of your poison on these forums!
Only thing I know of is ab workouts in general. The lower ab workout is what you would want to focus on I believe. Laying on your back, arms flat on the ground, hands down, lifting your butt and legs towards the ceiling, therefore targeting your lower ab area. =o)

There is no such thing as a 'lower ab workout', the rectus abdominus is one muscle, when you work it the whole thing contracts, you can't work the 'upper' or 'lower' part of it.

Don't quote me exactly on this but if I remember what I've kinda read lately 18% body fat or lower is the desireable range for female figure athletes. As I said I had 22% and could see the line- not as pronounced as some models have but I did get it. I know men can have a lower body fat percentage than women and be alright.
And I really only know the female side of things because that's what I am. But generally workouts are the same regardless of gender. :)

Kinda off topic but I'm curious. It might just be bad form on my part but I've noticed a lot of ab excercises (jackknife, ab roller (on a stability ball), crunches and the like) I feel like I'm over working the spot just under my ribs. It's only when I work in the hips like with a reverse crunch that I feel the burn down there. Is that normal, or do I really have bad form or something? :)
Oh my God...I always thought I was disgusting for having jutted out pelvis bones and jutted out collar bones (I'm always covering them up with necklaces and I'll be letting my hair down alot), I had visible collarbones even when I used to be overweight as a teen, those hip/pelvic/whatever bones started jutting out when I reached normal weight...it's weird...I hate it...I actually would like exercises to help cover it up with some muscle or something (after I'm done losing some of the fat I want to lose)! Is this possible? I'm not even thin, not fit at all, just very average, and I wear a size 8-10.

I don't think it's disgusting. And I have them too, and am about your size. Unfortunately I don't know of anything to cover it up (if I could pad mine somehow I would) but you could try working for ab definition. It could distract from the bone. I don't know though, maybe someone has a better idea.
sorry for calling you a "he" dirktwolf!! :)

Female Figure Althletes at comp time usually walk on stage with about 7-8% body fat, in the off season some go quite high but most sit at about 14-15% all year around. Im currently at about 17% and my pelvic bone show's when im as high as 20%.
Depending on what charts you look at anything as low as 12% is concidered healthy for a female althlete, the reason it's not generally recomended for "most normal" women to get that low is because most normal women eat normal diets.
My Personal Trainer explained that the reason Althetes can get away with a much lower body fat % than the average woman and still remain healthy, is because they pay very special attention to thier diet making sure that their body is WELL NURISHED and there bodys arn't lacking anything.
I plan eventually to hover at about 14-15% all year round, but right now i need to build alittle muscle on my arms so they don't look scrawny and my trainer assures me i'll be perfectly healthy that low.
Currently im eating about 2500-3000cals per day atm as a 5ft3 female so i really don't think an ED is required to get pelvic bones and flat ab's, infact the lowest i EVER let my cals go is 1600 because anything below that im a nightmare to live with and i get grouchie if im hungry.
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
