People looking forward to join military or police?
I have been looking for people with similar goals as mine. Actually we all have the same goal of losing weight but we all have different reasons behind it. So i should say i am looking for buddies who are trying to lose weight to meet the physical requirements to join military or police. Are there any? if so please share your experiences here! i would love to know how far you are on the road to success!
Thanks!
I initially decided to lose weight so that I can feel better about myself, both physically and mentally. However, now that I've graduated from college I do plan on being a police officer!!! I'm currently 140lbs and I'm 5'1. My goal weight is 120 =D. All I need to do is to start exercising so that I can get in good shape!!!
Wow! that is awesome! Congratulations on making that decision. I am planning to join the airforce, not just planning but i am sure about it! But it will take some time as i am far from my goal. I am 209 right now and i have to be atleast 165 to meet the airforce requirements. And i am hanging in there!
Good luck to you!
I take my first physical agility test for my police civil service test next month, that has motivated my weight loss for the past year, do or die time is coming up/
Thanks moolah, Good luck to you too!!! The airforce sounds so exciting!!! I would have considered that BUT I'm afraid of heights and speed lol so that will count me out =P.
theactionman, best of luck in your agility exam and congrats on your weight loss. It's really nice when we have things like this to give us an extra motivation to lose weight =D
Yep! I am in the process of applying to serve as a Naval Officer. I *just* meet the Navy's height and weight requirements; but, I'm currently trying to drop about 10 lbs to make sure that I'm good and under the requirements.
I'm considering applying to be a police officer as well, but also need to get in good shape to do so! :)
Hi Moolah...
I stumbled upon your thread and I wondered if advice from an Acive Duty Airforce Lifer would help you? My husband and I can give you insight on what is like in the Military for P.T regs, standard P.T tests and what to expect from basic training. If this is something you feel would help you, we would be more then happy to share!
Good Luck!
Niki
Moolah,
I am like Niki and saw this and thought I would toss in some insight. I am in the Army Reserves and am training for the fire department, so I may be able to help from both ends. Just let me know if you have any questions
Kind of late to reply, but I'm working on my fitness to meet the Coast Guard's requirements. I'm not overweight or trying to lose weight; I'm trying to increase my speed, strength, and stamina.
Hi, I also plan on joining the Armed Forces, I have about 23 pounds to lose in order to meet the required weight.
