What do the people at YOUR lunch table eat?

Quote  |  Reply

I'm the only healthy eater at my table, so what they eat at lunch truely disgusts me. This one girl will eat fried chinese noodles(the ones you put on salads) with duck sauce, then a nutella sandwich. this other girl will bring in boxes of donuts, and finish them at lunch. and this guy will buy 4-5 BIG cookies, two soft pretzels, a high calorie drink and a poop load of other-bad-for-you stuff

so now that you've heard mine, what do people at YOUR lunch table eat?

We don't have designated lunch periods at my all girl's school and I have seen a few girls eat 2 Bosco sticks, Reese's Cups, grapes, a loaded baked potato, chicken tenders, a bag of chips, and a large slushie. And they all weigh less than 120 lbs. It's absolutely crazy!

Normally they eat at the cafeteria, but once I saw a girl eat a wrap, a poutine, a coke, an ice cream cone, a compote, and more but I can't/don't want to remember.

My friends eating at the table;

Friend 1; Yogurt, Quaker mini rice cakes, PB sammich, Grapes, Water bottle.

Friend 2; 1/2 pizza, orange Juice, MultiGrain roll.

Friend 3; 2 pizzas, Corn, Chocolate Milk.

Friend 4; Doritos, Snickers bar, Grapes, Deli Sammich. (And Friend 4 is super thin! o_O)

Yeeepp~ :)

I seriously WISH I could eat like one of my friends, because she has the best lunch ever. Ever! But since she's a big swimmer, I guess she gets away with it.

Normally she has a big ol' peanut butter and jelly sandwich, oreo cakesters, crunchy pretzels, a bag of apple slices. And then, of course, she bums food from everyone else. At my table, we usually pass all the food around. If somebody has cookies, we'll all get a piece.

Then theres days where she eats even more...I remember clearly a day we had muffins in my homeroom (celebration!) and obviously, I just wrapped mine up and saved it for later. Probably could last me weeks if I ate it in the amount I'd allow myself to. I pulled it out at our lunch, and she attacked it. I mean, it was gone in five minutes. The thing was the size of two of my fists! Another day, my other friend had a bagel party in her homeroom...and she gave it all to her. Same story.

too be fair when i was in highschool i ate like crap and still kept a healthy weight. it happens...at some point you grow out of it and realize you have to be nicer to you body.

some of my lunches looked like this...

- cheesy bagel with cream cheese, a twix bar and a coke

- fries with and three cookies

- a bag of chips and a candy bar

- tater tots with ketchup and sugar cookies.

haha it makes me laugh now but ive always had a great metabolism. When i was eating like this at school every mornign i would have an instant breakfast and my mom would always cook a healthy dinner and i would eat cookies and milk before bed!

Haha - I've noticed this type of thing as well!

There're 3 people other than me that sit at my table EVERY day; we always have about 7 people at the table but none of them are there enough for me to notice what they eat, so here're my three friends:

friend 1: 17-year-old boy, pretty thin
-lunch entree (hamburger, pizza, burrito...whatever they're serving)
-side of french fries (just like BK or McDonald's - they're deep fried)
-fruit juice that's LOADED with HFCS
-chocolate milk
-two big dessert Betty Crocker-y cake things from the vending machine

friend 2: 16-year-old girl; SUPER skinny, about 105 lbs and 5'7"
it honestly varies.  sometimes she brings a classic lunchmeat/cheese/mustard sandwich, chips and some fruit and sometimes she gets a lunch.  she never gets the fries, though, and drinks diet or zero pop

friend 3: 16-year-old girl, pretty chubby/bulky but very active, she's a swimmer
she gets the full lunch (entree, fries, juice, milk) and that's about it
but she often times brings a big croissant from home

friend 1

female, 5" 1', around 100 pounds, inactive

she usually has a sandwich, a dannon yogurt, sometimes sf pudding, maybe a piece of fruit, chips... and honestly, she's not anorexic but she isn't active nd eats very little. she's super petite.

friend 2

female, 5'7", probably 130-140 pounds, inactive

she usually eats a deli sandwhich on sourdough or white bread (and picks off the cheese), some fruit, veggies, and chips or cookies

friend number 3

female, 5' 3", 150-160 pounds, swimmer

some of the things she eats... i hate feeling judgemental but goodness! bagels with tons of cream cheese or super peautbuttery sandwiches on white bread or soup for an entree, then she always has a billion bars in case she wants a snack and she usually brings veggies and ranch, and huge bags of trail mix (like probably 100 calories worth), and like 6 or 8 cookies, and yogurt. her mother is obese, and she packs her lunches. sometimes i really want to inform her... but i restrain myself...

Ohhhh Im so envious! >_<

Friend 1, 5'3 and maybe 113 lbs?

- 1-3 platefulls of the school food, whatever it is

- half a huge chocolate bar and a bag of candy...

Friend 2 (who is THIN and ALWAYS complains me how FAT she is...)

- 1-3 platefulls of the school food

- 1-3 slices of bread with so much butter you cant see the bread. Honestly.

Sooo unfair. So unfair!

I would say that, while all these people may be thin despite their habits - think of their insides.

I have drastic opposites with my friends. One eats a dry turkey sandwich and a piece of fruit for lunch every day and I encourage her to eat more. She doesn't listen.

Others go out to the local newsagent, buy boxes of donuts and whole pies and multipack bags of crisps and so on, and go through whatever junk they'd bought like it was a bottle of water.

At the end of the day I know it's their body they're dealing with - it's just a shame to watch. :s

Friend One; 4'11 and 108 lbs.

Lunch: Bag of SunChips, PeanutButter & Banana Sandwich, and a HoneyCrisp Apple

Friend Two; 5'1 and 160 lbs.

Lunch: 1 Strawberrry Iced Poptart, Bag of Cheetos, Chocolate milk, and a Chocolate bae

Friend Three; 5'2 and 120 lbs.

Lunch: 1 Cheese Pizza, Small Pasta Salad, and Milk

Everyone (Cept Friend Two) eat okay. But some kids that are not my friends eat like; Chocolate milk, 1 blueberry muffin, 2 ricecakes with Peanut butter, bag Cheetos, and a whole thing of M&M.

I mean I eat a big lunch but it's not unhealthy like ^that. =/

uhh... I tend to eat the vegetarian menu at school (mostly because the meat (usually pork)  looks a bit disgusting) - but my best friends kinda like the normal menu AND they usually go and buy lots of ice cream and chocolate once they finish.

What's really sad is if I ate what they eat every day I'd gain so much weight it's not even funny - but they all seem to be maintaining

It gets even worse when I listen to what they have for breakfast EmbarassedSmile

Yeah...I'm jealous that my friends can eat so much, but they're all serious athletes. One is a big soccer player; she's on a few different teams and is doing soccer every night of the week. Another one is a big swimmer (as I mentioned before) and she swims every day, from 4 p.m. to around 7 p.m. And then another one is a really serious, nationally ranked gymnast. Her hours at the gym are 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. It's really crazy!

I guess I'm actually more jealous of their grades than their meals...they're all straight A students! It's not fair, I tell you! Cry

Some of my friend try to be healthy...

Observe...

Friend 1: Salad (healthy right?), then tons of dressing (usually 1/2 a cup or more!), or some form of soup with noodles and meat, veggie chips, watermelon, Snapple

Friend 2: Occasionally a salad with tons of dressing (see above), or the full school lunch (chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, french fries, fruit juice, canned fruit in syrup, etc.) (and this one says she's on a diet)

Friend 3: French fries...then if she wants...more french fries.

Well, I don't bother them about it, it's their decision to eat whatever they want.

Tongue out

my freinds are pretty healthy eaters except for the skinniest one which has the worst lunches, ironic right?

Friend One:  half a mini home-made pita with cream cheese, apple, cucmber, water

Friend Two: whole wheat sandwich with jelly, apple, fiber cookie, skim milk,

Friend Three(skinniest one): four poptarts, HUGE container of bagel pizza bits(snacks on them throughout the day),cereal bar, apple, pasta with BUTTER and ceaser as dressing with olives, corn, cherry tomatos, chicken, water.

All my friends are teenage boys with insane metabolisms - they eat complete crap all the time. They're all pretty athletic, so they do burn a decent number of calories, but I'll never understand how they end up maintaining by eating five times as much junk food as I do healthy food.

On one hand, it sucks to be tempted when they order pizza & Chinese & Chipotle... but on the other, just watching the sheer amount of food they consume is enough of a deterrant. I'm constantly wondering how they can manage to fit it all!

All my friends are what I would call healthy weights, although they vary from being quite skinny healthy to more curvy healthy (which is where I would put myself at, bmi of around 22.5)

It's sooo painful though, some of my really skinny friends who do NO exercise can eat seriously bad food, all day everyday, and still stay skinny. I'm talking really big muffins, chocolate bars everyday, fizzy drinks...whatever. But I know that even if I could eat like that and not gain weight, it wouldn't be good for my health so I know I shouldn't.

I just have one friend who I wish wouldn't be so patronising. She eats way worse than I do, but is pretty skinny, but always tries to lecture me on how to lose weight. Hello! I am the one trying to eat healthy here...

Sorry for the rant :)
