What do the people at YOUR lunch table eat?
I'm the only healthy eater at my table, so what they eat at lunch truely disgusts me. This one girl will eat fried chinese noodles(the ones you put on salads) with duck sauce, then a nutella sandwich. this other girl will bring in boxes of donuts, and finish them at lunch. and this guy will buy 4-5 BIG cookies, two soft pretzels, a high calorie drink and a poop load of other-bad-for-you stuff
so now that you've heard mine, what do people at YOUR lunch table eat?
friend one: poptarts, rice crispies treat.
friend two: two bags of chips.
friend three: school lunch, chocolate milk.
friend four: cereal.
friend five: luna bar, snapple tea.
friend six: tuna sandwich, trail mix.
etc. maybe not the healthiest bunch. at our school, our lunch schedules depend on the classes we have, so it's always different as to who has lunch with who. but i always see all of my friends not eating the healthiest of things. i think if i ate what they ate...well, it wouldn't be so great for me in the i'm-trying-to-maintain-my-weight department, haha.
none of my friends eat very healthy, but my bestfriend is probably the worst (and skinniest -_-).
we walk to school together every morning, and when we arrive she always buys a large chocolate milk, and either a big cookie from the cafeteria, or 3 small-ish hashbrown from the cafeteria.
we go out for lunch around 95% of the time (i usually bring stuff from home), and she either goes to subway and orders a sub on white bread with bacon, with cookies and regular pop on the side.. or she goes to dairyqueen and gets a medium fry and a blizzard.
in her locker, she also has ritz smore sandwiches and more regular pop, and when we walk home from school, she sometimes stops to get a blizzard.
and her current weight is my GOAL WEIGHT :|
i tried to stop paying attention because freshman and soph year i was counting calories for other people in my head =/ i still do it. one of my best friends is in my lunch this year and i just notice that everything she eats matches. A bag of potato chips (yellow/beige), lemon snapple, and some bar thats also yellow packaging.
even if i wasnt a health freak, im too much of a germaphobe to share food. we made these cell cakes in bio and they were all eating it out of the same thing with their forks. ewww. germss
edit/rant: ugh and last night i was talkig to my ex (<3) and he was telling me about how every night after dinner he's still so hungry. he has a really fast metabolism. he's 5'10'' and 120. (around my goal and im 3 inches + shorter ! grr) And he was telling me how he wished he had more food in his house because if he doesnt eat more before bed he wakes up looking emaciated. i felt so bad, i wanted to bake him cookies or something ahhh.
ok yeah. damn those teenage boys and their metabolisms.
When I was at school, people at my lunch table ate (typically) two boxes of fries, a chocolate bar (or two) and a bottle of cola. I would usually just have a sandwich and milk/orange juice yet they're thin, and I'm still the fat one. It drives me absolutely crazy
My friends are all so varied...most of them eat a lot and are at a healthy weight. One of them never eats a single thing. People always ask her where her lunch is, and she just says I'm not hungry. School starts at 7:40, so there is no way she could eat breakfast later that 7, and lunch is at 12:30. She never snacks in the morning, so how could she not be hungry? Shes not even thin. Then my other friend is a stick, and she eats so so much. Everyday her lunch is a huuuge bagel with tons of pb (at least calories right there!), a bag of chips, applesauce (usually 2), a 200 calorie granola bar, and 6 small reese's pb cups. And then she's hungry two hours later. I'm jealous.
Yes, most of my friends are all super skinny yet eat a ton.
1- pb+j on white (400cals), 2 mini candy bars (200cals), granola bar (200cals) and green tea (150cals). And shes SOOO SKINNY! Im jsut so jealous of her.
2- skinniest of my friends she brings a lunch normally a pb+j on wheat, crackers, and a fruit rollup, PLUS a school lunch of pizza, a rice krispy treat, bag of chips AND an ice cream and then she calls me after school to walk down the street and get pizza for dinner! Very jealous of her.
And the rest of them normally eat like 300-600 calories in that one meal, and im sitting there with my 90cal granola bar and green peppers when they eat all this yummy food >:/.
Oh and before i started eating less i nromally ate pb+j on white, a coffee cake, an icecream, and a granola bar which was probably around 800-900 calories!!! Im suprised i wasnt fatter. My highest weight ever was 121 and im 5. 4'.
My friends seem to be having the exact opposite problem from all yours!
You guys' friends (for the most part) seem to overeat a little, etc., but here's the norm at my school:
Friend 1 : Nature Valley Oats n' Honey granola bar
Friend 2: apple
Friend 3: 3 palm-sized falafels
Friend 4: Yoplait Light yogurt
Friend 5: nothing whatsoever. all day.
Friend 6: 2 chocolate chip cookies
Me: Usually something like a peanut butter & banana sandwich and an apple. Once, I also brought a sliver of pumpkin bread (don't remember exactly what kind it was) for dessert and everyone was like, "JOSIE YOU EAT SOOO MUCH!"
Sigh.
And based on data in this thread, all your starving friends are actually overweight? This assumes that life is playing a cruel joke on all calorie-counting teens, as the topic so far would seem to prove.

um what is wrong with them? haha sorry I just couldn't really imagine eating just an apple or a yogurt for lunch. You seem to have a good balance though.
Well at my school, everyone has stuff from the cantine at break first, most of my friends get either a bacon roll, cheese toastie or a big cookie or cake! I've been brought up health concious so I have some sort of fruit usually.
Then at lunch...
friend 1: egg sarnies and walkers crisps
friend 2: chips and mayo
friend 3: Jacket potato, cheese and beans
friend 4: Ranch salad with chicken in batter
friend 5: Cheese and bacon panini then a cookie
friend 6: ham sarnies and mcCoys chips
Me: Tuna and sweetcorn pitta
Yeah so they may not be the healthiest bunch but everyone is in the okayish weight boundaries so its all good :P
K: [Thin, BMI around 18?] Baked Potato, Chips + Chocolate bar.
E: [Very Thin, BMI 15.6] Buys a **** load of food but never eats any of it, she waits for other people to have some and then chucks it out.
L: [Slim Yet Curvy BMI 19.5] Gum, gum, more gum oh and sometimes some Chips.
ER: [Thin, BMI around 18] Chocolate Bar and a Sandwich.
M: [Average, BMI: 20] Not Much, whole wheat bread, soups etc, soemtimes buys junk but feel guilty and gives it away.
F: [Curvy/overweight, BMI 24.5?] Chips and Chocolate, has an unfortunate metabolism.
H: [Heavy, BMI 25] Chips, Chocolate, Cake, Pasta, Regular Soda, cookies.
N: [Currently on a diet, lost 28lbs so far] Whatever crazy ass diet plan shes following.
T: [Curvy. BMI 23] Doesnt eat lunch just eats a lot of junk at home.
C: [Norma. BMI 22.5] Sandwhich, Chips and Cookie.
Ch: [Bit bigger than average, BMI 24] **** load of junk.
CA:[Curvt, BMI 22] Depends sometimes a lot, Chips, Cake, Cookie, Pizza and Soda or sometimes nothing at all.
At my school, the cafeteria sells pretty crappy food, like not particularly unhealthy, its just nobody buys the fruit and none of my friends opt for the actual cooked food. They hardly eat anything at lunch at all. Most just get like a tuna sandwich and cookie/cake with a drink like Ribena or something.
Im the only one tht brings stuff in. Although this is an extremely recent thing, I used to go without eting anything from my breakfast at 7am till I got home at like half 3. And probably not anythng then anyway, I'd usually wait till dinner at 6. Stupid ed ><
I wish my friends would eat more though, because I feel reallyguilty and self conscious at lunch eating around them again, its hard enough encouraging mysef to eat without THEM not eating :/
I have this one friend though, shes sooo skinny and everyday has a big cheese sandwich, double choc muffin and often a cookie too. She eats a ton of meat and crap and shes so tall and has an amazing figure. She used to be skinnier than me before my eds. She lives on a farm so eats lotsof red meat every night, 2 bags of crisps a day, another sandwich before bed etc. But I must say, she doesnt have the best skin, like she has these little red spots on her face sometimes. Oh well, spose its just a lack of veggies in her diet? oh yeh she doesnt eat breakfast either xD
xxx
J: (thin, busty, healthy) muesli bars, small bags of lollies, salad sandwiches & wraps, fat free yogurts, biscuits, fruit (mostly bananas and apples), vitamin water. I think her diet is great and very balanced.
S: (overweight) biscuits, chips, salad sandwiches, sodas, other junk food. Her diet isn't very healthy but she does eat healthy food every now and then.
M: (skinny) large donuts, mars bars, sodas, salads, soups, yogurt, banana sandwiches. I think she maintains her figure by not eating huge dinners, though she naturally has a good metabolism.
Myself: (thin) peanut butter sandwiches (on wholegrain bread, naturally), nut bars, fruit salads, bananas, diet yogurts.

your friends defently have a thing for peanut butter :P
the people i was with at college would all just go to nandos or pizza hut or mcdonalds and eat loads of junk! all athletic though. then i started going to lunch with different people and they'd typically just get sandwiches/baguettes, a chocolate bar and a coke.
the skinniest guy i used to go to lunch with (really tall, really thin and lanky) used to eat microwavable burgers or BBQ sauce sandwiches for breakfast, and then hotdogs or burger king for lunch. haha gross.
Do you know of a good indoor electric grill?
