What do the people at YOUR lunch table eat?

Quote  |  Reply

I'm the only healthy eater at my table, so what they eat at lunch truely disgusts me. This one girl will eat fried chinese noodles(the ones you put on salads) with duck sauce, then a nutella sandwich. this other girl will bring in boxes of donuts, and finish them at lunch. and this guy will buy 4-5 BIG cookies, two soft pretzels, a high calorie drink and a poop load of other-bad-for-you stuff

so now that you've heard mine, what do people at YOUR lunch table eat?

Oh sad, I think I'm one of those people you guys hated in high school Undecided  Seriously, I ate a plate of fries and a "shookie" (chocolate chip cookie with chocolate frosty-type ice cream on top) every day for lunch one year.  Granted, I was also in sports year-round and was 5'4" and 110 lbs, but still!  I can't eat nearly that unhealthily anymore.

Most of my friends are in sports and also don't eat in the morning. I go to a thin school, where it is strange to see somebody overweight instead of the other way around.

Hmmm... my closest friends aren't active at all, but like I said don't eat in the morning. One will have a juice or soymilk, water, wrap with tons of meat and cheese and a cookie but eat only about half. The other brings her lunch, which is a pbj sandwich, applesauce and a sweet. Both are tallish and are healthy.

Some of my friends don't eat lunch or breakfast. They go to the library, and might sneak a muffin in.

The athletes must eat. A cross country runner is extremely underweight and eats bosco sticks, pbj sandwich, and a cookie. Some girls eat two cookies, chips, and pizza and weigh about 98 pounds.

I hate the food, but I'm raised with the three-a-day attitude, so I eat there. I generally get a little bit salad with a little fat-free dressing, fruit, and a water, and I'm 5'4 and about 103 pounds. I can't stomach the grease, especially not when my mom is a chef.

High school sounds horrible, doesn't it?

a couple of pieces of pizza, cheeseburgers, and above all else, whole bags Hot Fries and Cheddar Fries.

I'm the only one who'll eat reasonably, with a chicken salad, a veggie wrap and pretzels, or fruit and a granola bar.

Frosh 1: slightly overweight- sandwich, juice box, apple, chips

Frosh 2: tall and thin- Sandwich, yogurt, water or juice, some sort of fruit or veggi and desert

Frosh 3-5: all short and overweight- all three get the school lunch with pop, cookies and a bag of chips (and our school lunches are a far cry from healthy!)

Junior 1: healthy weight, used to be anorexic- yogert and fruit thing, a fuze drink, peta chips, and sometimes a cookie (but only on a good day)

Junior 2: healthy but beefy (very athletic)- huge piece of greasy pizza, a fuze drink, and two big cookies

Junior 3: THATS ME! thin/healthy weight- a PBJ mini bagel, water, apple, and ccarrot sticks, sometimes I'll get a cookie or some chips from the Caf

Junior 4: (has low blood sugar problems and has to eat a lot!) tall and healthy weight- big bag of chips or pretzles, yogurt, chili or soup, and a desert from home, but then she usually buys a lunch too that includes an apple, fries, and an ice cream bar or piece of cake

Junior 5: (her parents pack her lunch) about me size, maybe a bit thinner- sandwich, water, a piece of fruit, desert, and then a cookie or pudding cup from the caf.

Friend 1(very active)/thin- Pb+j on white bread, lindt truffel, bag of chips, water, 100 calorie pack of pretzels, rice krispy treat. [usually around 700cals but she plays hockey for like 4 hours each day so thats why]

Friend 2(sedentary)/heavy- Used to eat but for the past few weeks hasnt been eating anything at lunch...:/, if i notice shes starting to loose weight im going to question if shes been eating enough.

Friend 3(sedentary)/thin- Yogurt, grapes, fruit snacks   [250cals]

Friend 4(sedentary)/thin- 2 bags of chips (baked lays, 90 cals a bag)   [180cals]

Friend 5(sedentary)/underweight- Pb+j on ww, cosmic brownie, pizza and chips. [dont know how shes so skinny]

And the rest of them pretty much either eat nothing or 2 bags of chips. Ugh, it feels like none of my friends eat the minimun 1500 calories a day because none eat breakfast. I dont know if im just paranoid but i dont think normal people eat enough?

I like this thread!!!

Me: 6" turkey sub from subway, light potato chips

It varies what other people eat.. some get away with eating buttloads of cookies, pizza, chips etc. Others eat a sandwich and some fruit.

Are you a college student or do you go to an off-campus high school?  Either way, I'm jealous.

Most kids at my table just get school lunches.  The vegetarians mostly pack.  One kid has parents crazy for Trader Joe's, so he's always bringing organic stuff.  Sometimes, he'll have like three ounces of cheese, crackers, a sandwich, raisins, a huge bag of almonds... but he swims, so he's fine.  One girl (short and curvy, not overweight) seems to only get fruit, milk and a salad while exercising hard 1-2 hours a day, but she's not anorexic so I guess she has a big breakfast/dinner.  She was anemic for a while though.

Friend 1 (normal weight for her her hight, and shes tall, and doesn't do any exercise): 1 orange, 1apple, 1 bannna!! she eats hardly anything, and all she eats 4 dinner is salad, she claims to have a big breakfast!

Friend 2 (short and overweight, does quite a bit of exercise): salad

Friend 3 (v.short and thin does a little bit of exercise): a ham sandwhich

Friend 4 (tall and thin, does quite a bit of sport): school dinner and two doughnuts.

Friend 5 (short and very skinney, does no exercise): depends, somtimes she'll just have a v'small bread roll, and sometimes she has a chocolste muffin and crisps.

Friend 6 (v.tall, normal weight quite sporty): a babybell, a mufin, a sandwhich and an orange which she usually chucks away ar gives to someone!

well you probs get the point i could go on 4eva i sit with different people each day of the week, depending weather i've got sax practice, piano practice, football training, netball practice or italian @ lunch, but most my friend are quite healthy!!!

k b4 christmas another friend ate a chocolate orange 4lunch!!!!!!!!!!! shes really skinney, but she does a lot of sport!!

Oh yer and i think i'll ad myself, 4 the sake of it (v. slightly overweight, very sporty) : soup, a banana and a bread roll, sometimes i eat skl lunches though!!!! i tend to eat badly in the evenings!!!

Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only healthy person at my table. I think they are all trying to be healthy but it just doesn't always work out that way.

Me: Veggie burger on a bun w/ tomato and lettuce, fruit (usually an orange or a pear), skim milk

Friend 1 (The 100 calorie pack addict)- Rather chubby: 4-5 assorted 100 cal crackers, cookies, and chips, a fat free yogurt, granola, flavored water.

Friend 2 (complains about how bad school food is for you that she won't eat it) - Slightly chuby, but losing some weight: Ice cream

Friend three - Healthy weight, not really active: Salad, chocolate milk, fruit

Littlebeep- I actually go to a pretty bad public school. But there's a little subway in the cafeteria! You don't order though... they have ready-made subs. They're not the best and are usually kinda old... but at least it's subway. And they only have 4-5 options so its not as great as it sounds. :(

Me (semi skinny, i play volleyball every day): grilled chicken salad and a banana.

friend 1: (super skinny, hates exercising) ramen or cup noodle and 2 candy bars.

friend 2: (skinny, wrestles so she does a lot of exercise in one day) pizza (the microwavable kind) and Gatorade.

friend 3: (semi skinny, exercises daily, plays volleyball with me): mashed potatoes and some type of meat and a banana.

friend 4: (super skinny, does absolutely no exercise whatsoever!): school lunch which normally consists of a bread roll, some type of meat, fruits, and dessert.

friend 5: (super skinny, plays soccer): ice cream and chocolate

WOW! I have a lot of skinny friends! Hmmmmmmm.....

I : (probably skinniest one since recovering from eating disorder) used to be absolutely nothing and on rare occasions water but now i bring my own lunch cuz the cafs is fattening and gross so now a roast beef sandwich and a few veggies

Friend 1 : (kinda overweight) eats flaming hot cheetos or doritos with some kind of cookie or brownie treat

Friend 2 : (average but is now becoming weight concious) granola bar and propel

Friend 3 : (a little heavier than average) PBJ with chips or she'll have french fries

Friend 4 : (small and very muscular, shes a gymnast) turkey sub with dorito

most of my friends actually eat pretty healthy and balanced but one friend who sticks out, and is actually relatively skinny and fit eats this : at least 2 or 3 mini bags of cheese itz or goldfish, poptarts, mini muffin pack, gummys, carrots and ranch, high calorie vitamin water, and usually says she is still hungry and goes into the student store. and that's all in about half an hour after a similar meal hours before for breakfast. it actually shocks me haha.

oh god. lunchables every single day. that is really nasty. it really disgusts me.

I remember eating a lot at school lunches and had friends who ate three times as much as I did.  I was normal weight, was an athlete, had high metabolism.  I think if you sit around and look at what everyone else is eating and judge them you will be the poorer for it.  Analyzing what everyone else is putting in their bodies isn't healthy, don't be so concerned with what everyone else is doing and concentrate on making yourself better, mentally and physically.  Learn to love yourself and don't worry about anyone else.  Being a teenager is hard enough, don't make it worse by worrying about how others live their lives.

Much luckier this semester. I seat with all girls so they don't eat to much sweets or unhealthy stuff. We'll get cookies or a fudge Friday(a brownie with a small scoop of ice cream and hot fudge) on Friday and split it so we don't go over board. But most of the time, we usually get salads. (:

I eat with about four girls. One still gets her lunch made by her mother which usually consists of PB&J, granola bar, apple, etc. Pretty healthy.

The other few get lunch from the school. Either chips with soda or some sort of cafeteria food like a sandwich or burrito.

I'm the odd one out cos I usually don't eat lunch. Just my sparkling water with juice. Occasionally, I do get a burrito though.

Our group is of about 12-14 people, so I can't list everyone (: We don't eat in our cafeteria because there aren't many different options and of what there actually is, about 90% is unhealthy and it's just too far from our hang out spot (we're such lazies (: ). We have two breaks, so it goes: class- class - break - class - class - lunch - class - class. Me and two others have insane metabolisms so we eat loads, but one eats the most unhealthiest out of all of us. He usually has about 4packets of doritos/prawn cocktail crisps and other very bad foods (:

Thinking about it actually, generally everyone's pretty unhealthy in different ways (some will eat loads, some will eat hardly anything). I'd like to think I eat healthy compared to my friends, but overall not so much (:

I can't say our caf sells unhealthy foods, it's actually pretty good compared to alot of schools. We sell salads, sandwiches, fruits/vegetables (individual packages), yoghurts, frozen yoghurt bars and granola bars for the healthy snack section.  For main meals, they sell spaghetti/noodles or rice with sauce and meat. Sometimes there would be pizza, fries and burgers but rarely. Some unhealthy would include brownies, chips, cookies, fried-potatoes related, springrolls and chicken wings.

A [girl; tall and normal weight, leans to the thin side] - varies; half a tuna sandwich or one cookie or 3/4 cups of sweet corns or a granola bar. (Thinks need to be thinner)

N [girl; avg height, thin] - Before had home lunch which was one plain ham sandwich, now is a granola bar, 110kcals. (I think its hilarious how she thinks she needs a diet. What the hell. but I'm not the one to judge.)

T [girl; avg height and weight] - Salad with smoked salmon slices and approx. one tbsp sauce. (Pretty healthy and non-weight conscious but thats all she eats haha)

D [girl; avg-short height, overweight] - chicken sandwich, if sold out: fried-potato related food. Juice.

O [girl; avg-short height, thin/petit] - homelunch: eats half of her rice with veggies and meat. Juice (Says she needs to loose weight and is fat.)

C [guy; avg height, chubby] - Crazy binger. A mixture of chickenwings, fried-potato related foods, dumplings, main meals and spring rolls. (Claims he 'eats' his own feelings)

C#2 [guy; avg height and weight] - main meals or order delivery: Beef rice.

F [guy; tall and big, not fat] - Same as C#2 (Trying to slim down?)

H [guy; avg height and thin/petit] - Same as C#2

Me - two thin ricecakes or crackers with 30cal spreads or ham. Total 130 max. I'm guilty on both breakfast and lunch but i dont feel comfortable eating so much..Struggling.

M [girl/somewhat overweight, and "diets" a lot] - Hardly anything. Sometimes she doesn't eat lunch, sometimes she heats up a Lean Cusine or something. Other days she'll eat nothing but some chips and dip and some Oreos.

S [boy/overweight and gaining all the time] - PURE JUNK. He'll eat the worst lunch imaginable, and then stuff himself full of chips and desserts. Plus he drinks either chocolate milk or soda all the time. Well, you are what you eat.

G [boy/slim] - He is S's BFF and usually just eats whatever is served. He doesen't eat huge portions though and typically doesen't eat more than one snack or dessert. Although, he can eat pretty much whatever he wants and still stays really slim and good-looking.

A [girl/overweight, trying to eat healthier] - Usually something "seemingly" healthy that really isin't. EX: a turkey sandwich on white bread with mayonaise, some baked potato chips, a salad with Ranch dressing, and some carrots in Ranch or sour cream dip.

A [girl/healthy weight/slim] - Her mom packs her lunch. A PB&J almost every day, hahah. She also usually has some pretzels and an apple, and a juice box.

L [girl/underweight/ED] - She either eats like half a bagel, nothing at all, or a plain salad. It's really sad. She's not my friend but it's still a shame to see.

C [girl/normal weight/good shape] - Usually whatever she wants. But not in rediculous portions and she always makes a somewhat healthy choice. I think she really understands moderation and it shows.

K (ME) [trying to gain/good shape] - Tuna salad with feta cheese or chicken salad with raisins and walnuts in a pita bread, some kidney beans, peas, green beans, and a whole bell pepper diced and tossed with some spicy salsa.
