What do the people at YOUR lunch table eat?
I'm the only healthy eater at my table, so what they eat at lunch truely disgusts me. This one girl will eat fried chinese noodles(the ones you put on salads) with duck sauce, then a nutella sandwich. this other girl will bring in boxes of donuts, and finish them at lunch. and this guy will buy 4-5 BIG cookies, two soft pretzels, a high calorie drink and a poop load of other-bad-for-you stuff
so now that you've heard mine, what do people at YOUR lunch table eat?
My friends eat like sandwiches, brisk, chips, cookies, smartfood (popcorn), and other junk
I'm content with just eating half a sandwich, a banana, and some water but they all weigh less then me even though i excercise way more then them and obviously eat healthier
what gives?
Well, I'm kind of concerned about the habits my friends have at lunch, but who am I to judge.. ?
G; About 5'8, Self-consious about her overweight/ athletic body; Usually nothing, even on days she has both track & volleyball practice. Sometimes she'll bring Gold Fish Crackers or grapes if the lunch aides are watching are table.
A; About 5'5, Very self-consious about her average/ athletic body; Used to be nothing even when she had basketball, but now she'll bring a Slim-Fast shake, or grapes, or on occasion, buy the school lunch when the lunch aides watch our table.
E; About 5'4, Content/ happy with her average/ fit/ athletic body; Buys the school lunch everyday, usually finishing it. (Some type of fried potatoes (fries, tator tots) Milk, and chicken nuggets or a small burger or something along those lines..)
M; About 5'8, Self-consious about her very skinny/ athletic body; Normally just a Propel and a Special K bar, even when she has track or basketball or gymnastics. Sometimes she'll buy the school lunch.
ME!; About 5'8, Happy with my athletic body/ Wants to gain a few lbs; Usually a PowerBar or a Roastbeef & ketchup sandwhich , Chex-Mix or dried-fruit, and a jello cup.
I think one of my friends has an ED.
T- (possible ED, shes lost like 30lbs/5'4 130lbs)- absolutley nothing, and she has LAX practice every day. Im very worried about her shes not to skinny yet... but shes still loosing and wont eat anything.
S- (4'11 95lbs) Usually nothing, and nothing for breakfast too. She says she "eats at home". She however doesn't know what calories are and doesn't have an ED. She is one of those people that like healthy food. Occasionally she will bring a cheese stick and pretzels, or an oatmeal to go. She never eats more than 200 calories for lunch. I have no clue how she maintains her weight and isn't dangerously low.
C- (5'4 105-110lbs)- very very athletic shes all muscle)- pb+j on white bread, granola bar, green tea, applesauce, cheese its, and usually a little candy bar.
L- (5'10 190lbs)- Some thing from jenny craig, her mom put her on it to try and make her loose weight.
Mostly everyone else just eats a bag or two of chips and a chocolate milk. (the chips at my school are baked and only 90 cals a bag) It is really really triggering to me what my friends eat. Except C, everyone else barely eats anything. I have counted up most of there calories for the day (when i was over there house or some thing), and most of them eat around 1200-1600 a day. WHY!? God, my friends are so triggering. Im trying to stop watching what other people eat but it's really hard.
anyone else notice that many of the overweight people mentioned in this thread eat poptarts? haha just an observation. which makes sense, b/c if i eat poptarts (havent in a long time) i am never full! i could probably eat the box and still be hungry. compared to something like oatmeal, with way less calories, that actually fills me up.
anyway, i remember in like 9th grade me and my one friend who was skinny, would combine our lunch money and buy so much junk food. im very surprised i wasn't fat. like one day we bought doughnuts, 2 cookies a piece, choc milk, brownies, nachos and cheese....it was seriously gross haha. anyway, ive come a long way b/c i would never do that now!
I started changing my eating habits around April of this year. It's done wonders for me. However, I would eat junk food back in April but not as bad as some people.
There is so much junk food available at our school, but it's not as bad as some other schools. Our school does a good job of making water/propel available and having extra foods, like fresh grapes, fruit medley, etc. We also have vending machines, where people buy poptarts, fruit snacks, mountain dew, dr. pepper, m&m's.. the list goes on. Very few people eat healthily at my school. It's kind of sad, but I'm excited about going back to school so that I can eat healthy there too, and save money by packing my lunch.
It TOTALLY disgusts me...auuuurgh...I know kids who get the full entrée lunch (meat, vegetable/fruit, bread, and sometimes dessert) PLUS a big PBJ sandwich PLUS a muffin. I have looked at these muffins. They contain 450 calories. That is an entire lunch.
And of course they're the skinny ones.
Me(5' 7" overweight)- a single school lunch with 2% milk or I bring lunch(sandwich, fruit, chips, water)
J(5' 11", overweight)- Brings a lunch(similar to mine)
A(5' 10", skinnest)- Pizza and coke, sometimes with donuts or a cookie. But I noticed if she starts talking about her gaining weight, then she will skip for a few days.
S(5' 6", healthy or a little overweight)- Pizza and coke, always with donuts or cookies. No physical activity whatsoever.
L(5' 10", chubby)- Nothing. She will occasionally take food from other people. I guess she is not eating to lose weight.
S(5' 5", healthy)- Occasional a sub or a slice of pizza. Usually doesn't eat.
N(5' 6", a little overweight)- Brings a lunch(they are Asian so she brings a lot of different foods)
A(5" 6", athletic)- Sister of N so she brings Asian food also
D(5' 6", athletic)- She is a dancer so she is always eating protein/carb bars. But she usually justs brings a normal lunch.
Me 5'9" average/slim- jacket potato, beans and cheese, yoghurt, water or orange juice and pear.
M 5'11" average/slim- usually has her sandwich at break so either biscuits, iced bun, piece of cake and some tango
T 5'9" average/slim- water and sometimes either crisps or biscuits. she normally eats alot after school.
C 5'10" average- he eats what ever the special is and pudding which is usually custard and cake and biscuits and orange juice.
H 5'6" chubby- packed lunch ham sandwich, wosits, choco bar, cheese string and half a tuna baguette.
MP 5'4" large- tuna baguette and iced bun
Well, I haven't started school again this year...but last year, everyone at my table was on this whole diet kick just like me, only they brought hundred-calorie packs and turkey sandwiches, maybe some SunChips...
I brought tofu and steamed vegetables, maybe some Soy Nuggets. Being a vegetarian and everything...my best friend Hannah would always say that what I was eating reminded her of the scene in the Lion King where Tamone and Pumbaa would eat slugs (she was referring to the steamed mushrooms I had leftover from Chinese Takout the night before...they got kinda slimy in the fridge). Every morning when I opened up my lunchbox she would ask me "what was new in Hakuna Matata land today" xD. The only occasion I can remember when anybody actually liked the idea of what I brought for lunch was when I made this Tofurkey Sandwich with lettuce and Dijon mustard, some onions, swiss cheese, and wheat bread...everyone was like "Oooooh, what's that?" and they were so interested until I mentioned the Tofurkey. And, of course, when I made this BBQ out of MorningStar Crumbles and, well, BBQ sauce and onions and spices and such.
Me [5'1, now healthier? BMI around 19.5?] - in winter I bring soup that I make at home [ie. Minestrone, pumpkin, roast tomato & capsicum etc.] in a thermos flask. The rest of the year I have wholegrain roll with leafy greens and hummus, toasted sandwiches [with capsicums, tomato, spinach etc.], leftovers, salads in summer.
+ I usually eat most of these things with some vegetable sticks [ie. carrots][whereas in my ed days, the carrot sticks would have been all I ate]
Okay, so I have two friends who work at bakeries, so they bring scones, tarts, scrolls, cheese&bacon rolls etc. all the time -> I am the only one who doesn't eat them. When they bring free stuff for us, everyone eats that, AS WELL as their usual lunch :s
N [around 5'4 - very athletic, perhaps overweight for BMI but she is pretty much all muscle] - cheese sandwich, chicken wraps, potato chips, chocolate bars [or some variation of those things
B [5'2, thinks she is massive, but she has a healthy body; she is lovely and curvy, and has massive boobs -which guys tend to like]; she doesn't eat much, maybe just a tiny salad, and talks about how she ''can't eat junk food because its bad for her voice'' [*cough*bulls**t] she's a singer - but occasionally she will binge on cookies, chocolate etc. when people bring it -> she's slowly starving herself...
+ I'm slightly confused though, because for morning tea everyday she has a huge chocolate muffin, I checked the calories - 550 cals for one muffin!
J & E [both around 5'6 and both pretty skinny, both have flat stomachs but eat a lot] - often bring healthy leftovers, but eat whatever they want when they want [ie. junk food]
S [5'4? small frame but average sorta weight] - usually brings yummy asian leftovers yumm, doesn't fear junk food at all and eats it in moderation
L[6'1 - tall and skinny, wide-ish hips - but has a model type figure] she eats absolutely whatever she **** wants, and stays thin - I'm so jealous of her amazing metabolism! still eats fruit & veg, but eats A LOT of everything
W [5'4/5 - ed recoveree, really healthy] - usually eats really well, yoghurt, nuts, wholegrain roll with tons of vegies etc. but she is not afraid to eat lollies occaisionally
there are more of us, but most people fit into one of those categories xD
