People Seemed Pissed.
I know that there are people out on this site like me who only post once in a while, and who are mostly readers. I like to read and understand the different opinions on this site and to be honest I have probably been kept up to date on more things going on in the world because of this site, but I can't help to notice that sometimes it just seems that people get so Mad/Enraged/stressed while commenting on posts..
anywho... I am just wondering why people get so mad.. is it because people are so passionate on their opinions or is it because some of the poster's like to get people riled up?
Just wondering.
I think it is a little of both. I think that some of the posters here that insight confrontations have more time on their hands than they know what to do with and are not happy with their own life. I like you read more than I post and have been psycho analyzing some regulars who seem to "cause trouble". I feel sorry for them really and wonder what could have possibly happened to them in life to make them so mad.
Have you been pondering my hate for haiku and christmas music?

I have mooni, what happened to you!!! Did Santa leave coal. hee hee hee
Mooni I like your posts... you have funny comments... you can tell its all in fun..its the people that are seriously mean to other people..
Hey, now. :p
I'm not mean. I'm just opinionated. ;p
I'm mad as hell... and I'm not going to take it anymore! *bedlam, screaming*
wait, what?
::giggles::
I think that sometimes people forget that this is just a message board on a free health-promoting web site.
Also, some people are of the mind that it's better to vent here "where it doesn't matter" than to explode in their real lives.
Not me, man. I'd rather laugh. Here and in real life too.
Although there have been times when I didn't feel like laughing and some of the people here helped me through those times more than they will ever know.

I totally agree... There are a few people that are really rough posters.. Sometimes I get so annoyed reading that I go to another posts..
I just feel bad for people who post something not expecting to get yelled at and told " why did you post this if you didn't want opinions?" Well OK i understand that but it's called respect and a lot of people act like superman on this site because they do not care, no one knows them...
My hate of haiku began in the third grade. You can attribute it to childhood trauma. I see no recovery for this one. I'll be a haiku hater for life.
I don't mind christmas. I'm not into christmas, but its OK, I just hate the music. I never really liked it, and then as I grew older it began to grate on my nerves more and more, especially as it started earlier and earlier in the year.
Yes, and usually really mean, hateful things are removed if they are posted here. The moderators are awesome. And fair.

you among a few others are my favorite posters ![]()
It's one thing to rant in a tongue in cheek thread, but some are kind of mean. I almost chewed out a poster yesterday. A rather newbie posted about CC cal count vs the label cal count on punch, and someone replied (essentially) aren't you dieting, why are you drinking punch? Way to go, scare off the newbies with an ugly comment why don't you?

That's what I hate about it too. I believe there are many new members scared off. If there are over a million people who've joined, why are there only a handful that post? Well maybe more than a handful but compaired to a million members, there are very few that stick around to be active members of the community. I would say it is our loss. We have limited our resources.
edited for sp
I agree.
I have been a member for a little while and when I first joined I thought it was Awesome.. Has it always been this way? Or just recently..Maybe its just that I am attracted to reading the heated discussions..
Who knows.
Biased sample.
People are more likely to post threads that are critical or negative because threads gushing or something are boring.

I never come into the forums, and for some reason I did today. I just wanted to say, I've been a loyal CC member for over a year. After about one month, I stopped coming into the forums because of the negativity mentioned above, and because there seeemed to be a lot of attention seeking posters who took away from those who had a)serious problems with eating disorder or b)seriously wanted to change their lives and make healthy choices.
ANyway, I just wanted to pop in and say I am one of the million or so members of cc who almost never posts unless I know the people in my thread!
