not the best idea, most of the time, you will put the weight straight back on when you do start eating, best thing to do is eat 3 set meals a day, normal portions, and exercise!!
True that. A lot of the people I come across are eating like 800 calories a day and wondering why they're not losing weight.
Anyways, I'd like to add to that. It's actually better to eat 5-6 small meals a day so that you can prevent yourself from getting hungry and it will boost your metabolism.
The best, is to eat less than what you burn to lose weight. I eat around 900-1200 and lose weight, but I know it is unlikely that I will gain it back because I always make sure I eat less than I burn (1800).
How old are you? Teenagers usually burn in the 2000's, unless you have it set to sedetary, which you are not. That means you're in bed all day.
1200 is the minimum for a women to eat, and I don't think it's too healthy for people who are still growing. And 900 is unhealthy for anybody, no matter their height, weight, age, etc. If I were you I'd start exercising and eat more.
to be honest, dibt worry about your weight, i choose how mush i want to eat a day, and how much i exersize a day, ive gained about half a lb, in muscle that is, dont be stupid and starve yourselves, also, be happy with yourselves, SIMPLE!
how do you find out how many calories your burning, i try and do an hour of cardio at least 5 times a week, and i'm really beat afterwards, but don't know how much i've burned. a lot of times i feel like i haven't done anything at all.
Something you guys above me need to understand about people who starve themselves is that it is very rarely even about weight to begin with. Eating disorders are not something people develope just because they 'want to shed a few', they are developed by underlying, and varying issues that, to the individual cause them distress. For most people with an eating disorder, controling their food and weight gives them a feeling on control over a chaotic life and or emotions and mental conditions. Simply telling these people not to restrict isn't going to do much, because they DO lose weight, and often they will continue. You don't have to think about all the other things in life that cause you distress if you're consumed by the need to lose weight. To fade away from it all. Weight loss is generally looked at as a positive and when most people lose it, they are rewarded with compliments and other such positive re-enforcements. Not everyone copes with lifes problems with stavation, but to the people that have grown up with a lower self-esteem, positive comments about the way they look are a very attractive reward. Eventually, as their minds and bodies become malnurished and disfunctioning, the disorder becomes more and more obsessive and the original goal is lost as depression and isolation become the new reasons for trying to cope.
No, starving yourself is not the answer to problems, but unfortunately, most people fall back on a whole unber of different vices, this includes over eating. That worst part about people trying to cope by losing weight is that is may in the end result in permanent health problems or death. Even after recovery most eating disorder patients are plauged with obsessive thoughts about food and the desire to lose weight. &n bsp;
800 calories is not that much at all.
Unless you really are laying in bed all day, then it becomes bad no matter how much it is. As long as you're burning more than you take in and it's not all bad calories, nothing wrong with 800.
