so i'm 23 and my cw is 257 and i'd like to lose 100+ lbs, would anyone like to go on this journey with me?  we could weigh in weekly and like keep each other in line?

red raven---totally?!  I'm like ok I must be the definition of "big boned" then! MY bones must weigh a ton! 

I don't know about you, but i know that I told ppl that I work w/ that i wanted to loose 70 lbs and they all looked at me like i was insane.  The one girl said, "so you wanna be a skeleton?"  They have NO clue that I weigh as much as I do... I carry my weight well.  I swear that I must have rocks in my stomach!!!

I mean I'd LOVE to be 120-130 but I just don't know if that's possible for me... I'm just gonna go w/ the flow and see what happens!

Well, I think all the stress in my life lately has caught up with me. I weighted this morning and I am 252 again! I feel really crummy about that too. My goal is to get back down by wednesday. I have a feeling a lot of it is from all the sodium I had this weekend. I also want to get back in to my exercise routine. I think that will help with my emotions from my loss.

Has anyone tried doing like a self aversion therapy? For example, every time you are hungry or reach for a "bad" food, you think of something horrible?


I watched this thing on Discovery Channel (or something like it) last night about a "Shrinking Woman" who went from 619 pounds to 180. Her wls was drastic, bypass and stomach removal! And then I watched her go under two body shaping surgeries. While losing over 400 pounds, she still looked awful. I felt so bad for her. She was so weakened and had such a hard time eating and dealing with her struggle. So I'm going to try and think of how I felt watching that from now on when I want sweets or another serving of food, etc.

So, Here's my story:

I'm 21yrs old and have been overweight my whole life... I have always wanted to be thinner (not boney) and be seen as ME! I've done a pretty good job of not letting my weight hold me back in life with friends, school, etc..... but it's always there. I am now at my heaviest and I can't help but let it affect the way I live life! for example, I live in california and the state fair comes every summer and I LOVE RIDES!!!! Now, I'm afraid I might be too big to comfortably fit once the people lock down the bar that holds you in. My worst fear is to get kicked off because i won't fit! Last summer was the first time i went to the fair and didnt go on anything but the teacups because i was afraid of that! I have had it!!! I wanna live my life! I really feel like i have "hit rock bottom"! I would love to join you guys and we can do this together!!!! I already have the support of my boyfriend of 4+ yrs (high school sweethearts) and my best friend, whom i met in H.S. as well... but the more support the better!!!

My Current Weight: 287

My Goal Weight: 180

Calorie Intake per day: No More Than 1500

Excercise: Walk about 2-3 Miles AT LEAST every other day Sometimes every day and Swim daily (california is HOT!!! 90's to 100's everyday!)

Let me know what you guys think!!!!

Oh... I almost forgot... Im 5'8" Tall..... Laughing

Welcome Kandice! Good Luck to you. I at first thought it was impossible to loose weight too and with the support of my CC friends and my family I have lost about 16 pounds. You just have to watch what you eat and be ready for the change. My biggest struggle are the weekends!!! I find that everything I see goes in my mouth, but with the warm weather, I just eat a popsicle if I get the nasty munchy urges. It is also hard because my bf eats all the time and anything he wants!! So when I see him eat, I feel like I have to eat. Let me tell you, popsicles are a life saver for me lately...lol

Yum... Popsicles.... Ice cream is my downfall and I was just recently told that frozen yogurt isn't any better! Cry I'm not sure if thats true or not... I guess I will have to do my research! I MUST get to the bottom of this! LOL. Thank god, My boyfriend is sort of dieting with me. He kinda doesn't have a choice, I do the cooking. He pretty much eats whatever i make, even if he doesn't like it! I have been really trying to taste new things. Mainly trying new types of fish. Which is a really big step considering I'm an extremely picky eater. I realized a lot of the foods that I "don't like", I've never actually tasted. What a wierdo I am, huh?!?!?! So, that's my plan.... try new things, healthy things. Salmon is next on the list. Never tryed it.... just SOUNDS gross.

I think my dog is a real lifesaver! It's hard to be a couch potato with a rambunctious puppy who always wants to go out and play.

Oh... Courtney Lee, I looked up those fitflops. They seem like they would be a good buy, but they go for about $50.... With gas AND food prices these days, I'm lucky if I have any money left. Definitely something I will keep in mind.

So as of this morning, I am back to 247 again! Lets hope this week I can get past this number. It seems everytime I hit this number I fall apart and go back up to the 250's again!

I have 23 more days to loose 7 pounds for my weightloss program at work. (The one where you get paid for loosing weight). If I can do this, I will earn $84!!  So all week I have been trying really hard to exercise and watch my calories and drink a TON of water! So far its working, but lets just hope I can get to 240 and stay there for the July 18th weigh in....

Welcome to all the new people.Smile Kwudell - check out Skinny Cow icecream.  They have ice cream sandwiches and cones in a bunch of flavors for only 150 calories.  It's been a life saver.

My problem with the weekend is that I'm no longer on a schedule so sometimes I forget to eat until I'm really hungry - which makes me grab something easy or tempts me to eat out.  I also forget to drink as much and I end up retaining water.

OMG i <3 skinny cow ice cream sandwiches! You can get a whole box at costco too!!!  then you have a good low cal snack in ur freezer for a LONG while! Try em out Kandice, you'll get hooked! :) 

I also like sugar free popsicles/fudgesicles/creamsicles.  They're super low cal and super yummy! Also whole fruit bars are delicious too, they're a little higher calorie than the sugar free popsicles, but better for you, ya know?

I've also heard weight watchers has some tasty treats, but i've never tried any...

Skinny Cow?!?!? Hmmm... I might have to look into that! I do most of my grocery shopping at Trader Joe's. They sell all the organic and wholesome foods.... LOL, the hippie foods. Laughing

Thanks Kwudell!!! Ok so here is is.. I'm 4'11" fulltime working mother of 5. I started my weightloss journey mid April & have lost 17.4lbs. So this is where I'm at now...

SW: 204.6

CW: 187.2

GW: 104.6

I know the weightloss seems huge & I don't want to be stick thin but all the calculators I've used said that would be my natural weight & a great BMI. I'm not sure if agree with all that but the closer I get to that goal I will be able to evaluate my body & check with the doc. The main reason I started to lose weight is because of a weightloss competiion here at work. I have a big family & we sure could use the $. Now that I feel & look kinda good I want to & will continue after the competion is long & over. Thanks again ladies for letting me come aboard.

Azmami... Those goals seem fair, maybe a little thin but your height probably has a lot to do with it. Congrats on your weight loss so far and your decision for a new lifestyle!!!! Your CW is my GW... LOL. I'm 5'8" Though!

I so agree with the goal being on the thin side. I did the wrist test & since my fingers don't touch I'm considered to be a "large" frame. Boo!!! Yell Hehe! But yes I am pretty darn short. Congrats to you too!!! Congrats to all of us for wanting a new lifestyle..
