people in their 20s looking to lose 100+ lbs?
so i'm 23 and my cw is 257 and i'd like to lose 100+ lbs, would anyone like to go on this journey with me? we could weigh in weekly and like keep each other in line?
also, my goal is to lose 40 lbs. by Christmas...!!!!
I've been holding steady at ~215 lbs for the last 2 weeks. I haven't been paying as much attention to the calorie counting because of some stress (not binging, just not counting). Also, my prescription ran out on my thyroid medication and I haven't made the time to get it checked/ renew prescription.
My goals for this week:
-make doctorss appointment
-Resume calorie counting
-prepare more meals at home (i.e. clean my kitchen so I can!)
-get a few walks in for some exercise

Ake2k, welcome. Your stats are like mine, except I'm a female..hah
I started at 265 and now I'm about 240ish. My scale is packed in a box at my new place so I can't give you an exact weight; besides women never reveal their true weight! LOLcool are you doing any special kind of diets. Even though i am on a "diet" its really more of a lifestyle i guess. i do eat what i want but i want to eat healthy. i generally stay away from starchy carbs bread/rice/potatoes but still get a ton of carbs from veggies other then that just load up on protien as much as i can and try im trying to stay low fat.
I agree with you about the lifestyle change. I have just been counting my calories and either I walk for an hour, run for half an hour, or I'm on my eliptical for 15 mins.
I pretty much eat what I want, but I watch the portions and I try not to go over 1200 calories. Atleast one day a week I go over 1200 calories to mix this up a bit. I noticed that my body gets used to my routines very fast. That is why I have 3 different kinds of exercises that I do.
i hope everyone had a great weekend. i was a lil piggy, but i'm back on track today.
Well, I still need to make that appointment but I seem to be moving along again. I walked several miles over the weekend, tried to pay more attention to water intake/calorie counts, and managed a few extra meals at home when I wanted to just go out and get it.
Result?
Weighed in at 213.6 this morning (new low). Hopefully I can keep it going again for a while.
that's fantastic kitty. not too long from now you'll be under 200!!
well all, my athletic boyfriend and i will be starting our workouts together tonight. i'm terrified, i have no stamina and will be huffing and puffing and griping the whole time!!

I'm still here Courtney.....
I have been at a terrible plateau for two months now and I finally lost a couple of ounces so I'm at 243-up from 241 in June, then hit 244 in June and now 243.
I hope everyone is still trying. I know some people I use to talk to all the time have not logged in a very long time.
hey kerri, glad you're still with us. i posted a reply to this last week from my phone but i guess it didn't take. hope everyone is doing well!

hi everyone! if you are all still working towards your goals i would love to join in on this forum, i just started sept 1st and i think i've failed too many times without a great online support crew like this to keep me motivated and share stories. let me know, i see the posts haven't really been recent, and melissa if you're still on here, your last post w/ the timeline and your rewards per weight loss was an awesome idea!! i'm gonna have to put something like that together to keep me on track towards my target weight of 140.
hi, yeah we're still working toward our goals, the more the merrier. a lot of people have fallen off & some people are probably into a routine now and don't need us as much anymore : ( but that's good too! welcome!

I just joined CC today. I had my birthday on Tuesday (Sept. 2) and I turned 24. I want to be a head turner by the time I'm 25, I used to be, but I hit some rough times and lost my way in life but now I'm back and wanting to be better than ever. Glad there's always room for one more! BTW I'm around 270 and want to be around 150.
hey alley welcome. my boyfriend's birthday was tuesday also, he turned 30! your goal is definitely possible but it's going to be tough to meet it within a year. 120 lbs in a year would mean losing a lil over 2 lbs every single week for the entire year. this is possible but tough because some weeks you'll probably hit a plateau but then other weeks it seems to fly off and kind of finds a way to balance out. every time someone is knew on here i just try to reinforce how important it is to hydrate yourself. somewhere on the old posts i put up a link to a daily water calculator based on weight and activity. i was surprised to learn someone around our weight would need at least 3 liters a day for your body to work properly. that's a lot! so the less you drink the more your body refuses to let go of the fluids in your body and you get really puffy and it can pack on the pounds big time.
best of luck to everyone.

Thanks Courtney! 3 Liters seems like alot but I've been doing it the past few days and feel better than ever.
great, that's what it's all about...

Well, I made my Dr appointment but it won't be until Oct so unless i can get a refill on my thyroid meds it's going to be strictly diet and exercise against an under-active thyroid.
I've hung around 215 pounds for about the last month to month and a half due to a lot of life stress. I had to rush my cat (just turned 19.5 years old) to the ER for kidney problems. He seems to be stable now but since he's an old cat he has old kitty problems (kidney, BP, possible cancer spots on his lungs) and it's been hard dealing with the reality of losing my best buddy (since I was 5).
I'm trying to regroup and hopefully I can continue with the great progress I was making before life hit.
aww, i'm SO sorry about your kitty : ( try & do your best to stay focused on your goal. we've got about 3 months til Christmas!!
mmmm, for anyone out there that has a juicer, my new favorite is carrot & lemon, SO refreshing! hope everyone is having a great week.
