people in their 20s looking to lose 100+ lbs?
so i'm 23 and my cw is 257 and i'd like to lose 100+ lbs, would anyone like to go on this journey with me? we could weigh in weekly and like keep each other in line?
Ya'll I really wish that weight came off as fast as it goes on!
I think if I had 3 wishes that might be one thing I'd ask for. Or I'd just wish I woke up tomorrow morning with a Rockin Hot body! Bikini ready! ha ha
Okay, Ya'll I just went to the list of activities on here. They have EVERYTHING. Like this morning alone I have burned over 500cals from doing things I do every day! If you get a chance read the list you'll be surprised to see what you do everyday that burns the Calories!!!!!! ha ha Its GREAT!!!!
Ok I just had a look, you're right they do have absolutely everything!
Lmao @ 110 cals per hour burned sitting on the toilet. Forget the gym..
so it's that time again, did everyone who has a scale weigh in yesterday? if so, did you meet your goal for the week?
Yuppers.. unfortunately not on my new digi scales since they never arrived =[
Anyhow, week 2, I'm at 240, 2 lbs ahead of schedule! Hurrah! Also down a belt loop as of yesterday which I am thrilled about! =D
Hey yall! I am about 250ish I guess. I am afraid to actually weigh myself. I started exercising and dieting about a month ago. I was a size 22 and tried on some 18's today. They fit! yeaaaaa. I have to break down and buy a scale soon. I feel so much better since i started walking thats what i do for exercise. ok i am new. Hope everyone has a good day.
erin i'm SO glad you joined us, CONGRATS on dropping the dress sizes. that's amazing. i also don't currently have a scale, i'm going to get one but i'm really not going to be obsessed with the numbers, you will know when you are losing by your dress size. i don't know if you read any of our earlier posts but my goal is to have everyone try and drink at least 2.5 liters of water a day. that's about 3 large cups full. stay hydrated and eat fresh and the weight will come off the right way. **hopefully, cuz that's my plan!
Hey Erin, welcome! What a great start you've made, congrats!
I think I'm still pretty low on the water thing, maybe like a litre a day at most.. working on it though! Does the stuff you swallow by accident at the pool count? lol
Well, I started off last week with a hard to read regular scale...and I think it said 235. I bought a digital scale this weekend and my weight Sunday morning was 228.6. Just to see if I got the same approx. weight two days in a row I weighed myself this morning (3 times to get an average) and it read 227, 229, and 229 so I'm going to guess the 228 is about accurate.
So...depending on how well I read the numbers last week I am either down either 6.5 pounds or 1.5 pounds...I'll take either one
.
I'm up 3 pounds. I was at 252 and now I'm 255. I have been here for two weeks now. I drink water all day long, so I have the water thing mastered.
Great job everyone!
I, um, had woman time this weekend and I know better not to get on a scale and freak myself out. So, I'll check back in tomorrow!
Congrats to all who lost and everyone who did their best to stay on track last week. Another week and another chance to lose!
I like your positivity Melissa. Another week and another chance to lose! I like it! ![]()
I dunno what I've done but man are my pants getting big! WOOHOO!!! The butt is soooo baggy .. Loooooove it!
Hey everyone! I'm Jackie and I am hoping to make as many friends as possible that are in the same boat as me.
I've been on calorie count for a year but sadly I've only lost around 35 pounds. But hey, that's still something right? Haha
I had about a 5 month plateau where I was trying to up my calories and create a deficit with exercise. I was eating around 2000 calories and exercising 6 days a week. I swear, it does not work for me. I have hypothyroidism so I have a feeling that might have something to do with it. I have to eat right around 1200 cals a day to keep losing, so I'm sticking to that. Since doing this, I've lost 10 pounds in the last 3-4 weeks!
So my SW: 280(ish)
CW: 248
My GW is: 140
I KNOW I can get to that. I've always felt like a skinny girl trapped in a fat body. I know I'm not supposed to be this way forever.
Thanks for reading my rambling! We can do this!
you can count me in! Even though i don't have a target of 100+lbs but it's not the easy one either. I have to lose 60 lbs.and i am same age as you. So lets do it!!
Welcome to our happy little gang Jackie and Moolah!
Congrats on the 10lbs lost in 4 weeks Jackie, you're losing over 2lbs a week which is great! That speed of loss seems to be generally accepted as the most healthy way to lose your weight, so well done you =]
I had a quick scan of some articles about hypothyroidism and how it can cause a lot of problems with weightloss - some suggestions made to help with it are taking St John's Wort [ http://thyroid.about.com/cs/dietweightloss/a/ losingweight.htm ].
"Eating right with hypothyroidism is usually low-sugar, low refined-carbohydrate and high protein" - [ http://www.suite101.com/lesson.cfm/18912/2313 /2 ] <<< this website has a great section about which foods can cause problems for you with hypothyroidism.. something about goiters?! lol I don't know, but if you're interested in more information about how the condition can affect your weight loss, and what might help, this site is great =]
Forgive me if you already know all of this!
Super, mega, ultra determined to get all my water today! 1.2 litres and counting..
Sorry I know I'm answering the question late, I'm just now getting back to normal after being sick!
I don't think I've ever felt like a skinny girl in a fat girl's body. I've always been fat and felt fat and I don't know what it feels like to be anything different. I suppose there is a skinny girl inside of me because its what I want more than anything in the world and I don't see myself achieving my goals as a fat girl. But I just don't know what it would feel like to be skinny, to not worry if people are staring, or feel uncomfortable on a plane, or ignore my love life because I know no one's interested. I guess somewhere along the way I tried to forget that certain things are important and concentrated on things I did have or could have. I think I lost my skinny girl and so its even harder to motivate myself and really believe I could be thin.
I know that seems really sad and I'm not looking for attention by it or anything like that, just being honest and facing it is the first step to fighting it, right? So I guess my new mini goal is to find my inner skinny girl and wake her up!
Oh my word! I feel like I have not eaten in a week and I have already eaten all my calories for the day. My tummy keeps growling and I just ate! I just want to keep eating and eating. Not sure what to do. I keep drinking water so I don't eat but it seems to be making it a lot worse.... :(
Hi! I'm 21, and I would love to go on this journey with you guys! I have struggled with my weight since I was little. I was big in junior high, then lost a lot of weight before my senior year in highschool. It was the smallest size I've been in my mostly-adult life.
My SW: 269.6 (started yesterday! 5/12)
CW: 267.2
GW: 150ish
My husband and I both belong to a gym, and he is super supportive of whatever I wish to do. I just want to be healthy so that when we start having kids, I can chase them all around and not be heinously out of breath.
I need all the support and lurve I can get!

I just really wanted to Welcome everyone to the group. ![]()
Jackattach, I understand having a medical condition that doesn't make it any easier to lose weight. I've got PCOS and w/out my medication I doubt even doing what I am doing now, I wouldn't lose even a lb! Thankfully I'm on my med's and its sorta a magical pill. Because it actually gives me a metabolism. Its weird to actually eat now because I'm hungry not just because its noon and I know its lunch time. I know with my medical condition, I'm consulting with my doctor. It would probably be a good idea if you did the same. Maybe the dr would have ideas to help you get off the plateau. Just a thought!
Wish you all much success!!
stacy i love your honesty. you better wake up your inner skinny girl cuz she's coming, believe me! maybe you could do like melissa and create a reward system for when you reach your mini goals. like when you reach your goal weight you could go rock climbing at an indoor facility bc a fat girl would never be able to get her big booty off the ground...
