5% body fat gain in 4 days?!
Hi everyone, I'm sort of new here even though I've been a member of this site for a year now. I took a long break from using calorie-count.
Four days ago, I went jogging, straight for more than thirty minutes. Then, my body fat was swinging around 26%. And then this morning, when I went to weigh myself, from 112 pounds and 26% bodyfat, it went to 113lbs and 30% bodyfat!!! It made me panic, well, a little.
I just want to know if digital weighing scales that measure body fat are accurate. It saddens me when I try to work hard, it backfires. Please inform me, thanks.

i have one of those and i been lifting weights, which will make me have more muscle and less fat plus i eat clean and do cardio, and if my scale goes up so does my bf % so i think it aint true.
You could try a online test (http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home -body-fat-test-2774-143.html) But then again I took that test before I lost weight and again after (lost 10 lbs) and it said I had gained 2% body fat, so it may not work perfectly, if you're really concerned you could have a test at your doctors.
No, they're not accurate. The easier it is to figure out, the less accurate it is. I think those scales are at the bottom and being put under water and measured is top/one of the top ways to get accurate body fat percentages.
IMHO, the best way (read, most accurate without being a pain in the ass) is to go into the gym and have them do the pinchy caliper thingy. They take a bunch of measurements of skin and fat folds then look on a chart and find your percentage. It only takes 5 or 10 minutes, you don't have to be dunked underwater, and it's much more accurate than taking measurements. I don't believe that the scales are considered to be accurate at all since your hydration levels affect the reading a lot.
