Just weighed in and I've lost 3lb in the last week making it to my 10% of total body weight lost!!! I'm soooo happy.
Started 16th Jan 07 and have now lost 22lb!! I've a mini target of losing 10lb for the month of March so now only need another 7lb by end of March and I'll have succeeded again.!!
Just thought I'd share that with you.

22 lbs in less than 2 months ! that is amazing. how did you do it?
Thank you very much for the support.
I've lost the weight by using this fantastic site and logging everything I eat and drink. I have also given up chocolate in any way shape or form. I was heavily addicted to the stuff and would easily forego a meal for a replacement choccy bar!!!
I stick to around 1200 - 1300 cals per day on most days but I don't fret if I'm over that on some days, say if I'm out for a meal or having a drink, or both!!! I think the key is to keep your body guessing so it doesn't go into starvation mode.
I also go swimming once per week and I've recently taken up Irish Dancing. I aim to up the exercise from this coming week as I made myself a little mini target of losing 10lb during March and I've already done 3lb of that after this mornings weigh in so sticking to the healthy eating and the extra exercise should hopefully do the trick.

here is what is confusing to me
guessing that you have and expenditure of around (being on the conservative side ) 1700 cals a day
you are 1200 cals a day and say worked out on average of 400 cals you then out cals - in cals -->1200 - (1700 + 400 ) = -900 caks a day which amounts to -6300 a week divide it by 3500 (to make a a pound) = 1.8 lbs a a week multiply it by 8 weeks (the two months you lost the 22 lbs in) = 14.4 lbs
To loose 22 lbs in the duration you did it . You must have lost around 2.75 lbs a week ! See why I am confused..., I keep going over my numbers,,, over and over and over .. I cannot accomplish this type of weight loss, going by th numbers as described by calorie-count.com . Where am I going wrong ?

must be all that irish dancing :)
Sometime's it can't be explained by numbers and a web site... one week she may have lost a little more than usual, like at the beginning (people often lose loads of pound the first few weeks)
When I first started losing weight, I lost about 4lbs for the first couple of weeks, then the weight loss evened out at around 2lbs, now it's more like 1.5/1lb (or none haha.)

I hear you.. I guess I am just frustrated with my slow loss, after following all guide lines !!!
I agree that it cannot always be down to number crunching. I may only log the activities I am fully conscious of doing but I would say I'm quite active (work full time, 2 children, constantly on the go).
Also the first half stone or so was no doubt water but it all still counts as pounds lost.
I once calculated how many calories I'd burned during a weekend when I generally clean the house from top to bottom, do the shopping, go swimming with the children, general running around and the calories I burned far outweighed those consumed. I only log calories burned from structured exercise. The cals I burn from just my body keeping me alive are more than I consume so obviously all the other activities I've mentioned add up to a hell of a lot more than you calcuated for me.
Added to all that, I have a lot of weigh to lose. I started off at 219lbs at 5'3" (large frame). I've only dropped 1 dress size for my 22lb weight loss (that's how it works for me, 1.5st per dress size approx) so this also should be taken into consideration.
I hope your weight loss accelerates to a more acceptable level for you, good luck.

And yes Watergirl, I think the Irish Dancing is defo helping. I'm knackered after a good 70 mins dancing tonight. It's such an infectious form of exercise, I only have to hear a bit of diddly diddly diddly dee and my legs start a tapping!!! God help me on Saturday...............St Patricks Day, I'll need to stay sober else I'll be burning a lot more calories and making a complete prat of myself!!! :-)
Good for you, awesome!!!
I've lost 21.5lbs in 8 weeks. 2.5 more to go for my 10%!

Hi there
A stone is 14 pounds over here. I've lost 1 stone 8 pounds or 22lbs.
Well done to the others almost reaching the 10% body weight loss. It sounds so fantastic when you can say you've lost 10% of your body weight.

So ok...if I wanted to figure out the % I've lost I just take my starting weight (264) and divide it by 10? Making my 10% a loss of 26.4 lbs. I've lost 43.2 lbs so in another 9.6 lbs I will have lost 20% of my body weight?
Hi Jen
Yes that's it. What a fantastic weight loss you have had already, well done for that.
My next mini target is to lose 10lb during March (already lost 3 so far) then I may set another one for April to lose 7lb and obviously my next milestone marker is like yourself, the 20% body weight loss.
