Who has the "Perfect Body"?

I found this article and found the discrepancy between men and women interesting, as well as the visual aide-

So my question to you is- who do YOU think has the perfect body?  Post a photo, I think it'd be an interesting lesson in different viewpoints.  I, personally, adore Ms. Mandy Moore:

Also, I think the sizes shown in the OP's UK article are interesting.  Compared to the US, it looks like their 8/12/16 are like our 4/8/12.  American vanity sizing!

yeah, the sizes shown are UK sizes so -4 for the american equivilant. as for marilyn monroe being a size 16, it is actually estimated to be more of a 12, not to mention if you include vanity sizing over the years shes about a size 6-8 in todays american sizes. sorry if i burst ur bubble, marilyn was not fat and yes a size 12-16 is fat deal with it.

@3  -  considering your height you might want to reconsider that.  A size 12 is fat?   I don't think so... it certaintly isn't super model thin... but then again most super models any more look like 12 yr old boys...  ((ie: no curves, no breasts)).  A well toned size 12 looks infinately better to me then a skin and bones size 6.

I am about between 111 and 115 lbs at about 5’5 with BMI of 18.4 - 19.2 heaviest…. And I AM FAT compared to a SUPER model haha!

So use common sense - a size 12 is only fat on some one who has a body type that is naturally a lot less than a 12; if certain people reach a 12, it will be too big on their body type.

Very interesting article. I think all three body types look beautiful. I do also think region has a lot to do with the polling here. I noticed the mag is from the UK, and from my observations women of the curvier variety tend to be the norm over there (and more sought after). The media's influence can certainly insidiously permeate our thinking...

I can see beauty in most body types, but I tend to err towards softness on a woman - the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Kate Winslet in her curvier periods. But again, all bodies can be beautiful - I even find some uber-muscle women appealing, but more in terms of the determination I know full well it would have taken for them to hone such a physique - impressive!

Megan Fox has a decent body but I personally think her face is kind of freaky.  I could see her coming at me with a knife for no apparent reason.. I dunno.

I don't think there is a perfect body either.  Like someone else pointed out, all the famous people are airbrushed now or get plastic surgery.  Every body is going to have flaws, whether it's fat, stretch marks, birth marks, whatever.  Just the way it is.

A size 12 is not fat! What an ignorant thing to say! It's all relative to height, hip width, ect. I have some female volleyball friends who are very in shape and 6'2". Some of them wear a 12 but definitely are NOT fat. It's all relative deal with it.

My vote for perfect body goes to Jessica Biel. She's got a very toned and athletic body, but she's curvy at the same time.

Women come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

However, it is an indisputable fact that the vast, vast majority of overweight and obese people in America are in that state because of an unhealthy lifestyle. 

I say, let them choose. I look out for number one, and I make the right choices for my body and health. I love my size.

Yes, I am a size five to six. Yes, many men find me attractive.

and ironically for all of you who think a size 12 isnt fat, out of all the "perfect bodies" mentioned, the largest is about a size 8 american. a size 12 isn't an unhealthy fat, but it is fat. if your comfy at that size go ahead with yourself.

I don't think it's possible to generalize that any SIZE is fat.  All people come in different shapes and hold weight differently.  I can look at two people that are a size 12-16 and they can look VERY different. 

I guess if I had to chose, I'd rather be a size 12 and content with myself than a size 2 that thinks I still need to lose weight.

And to get back on topic, I think that Kate Winslit (sp?) is beautiful.

Yes chiquita, Kate Winslet is gorge! And I second Scarlett too! But these are rather lofty ideals. These gals have such stunning faces that they'd truly still be fantastic looking even if they WERE obese. I'm just impressed that they are in the limelight and under constant media scrutiny and yet don't relent to unrealistic (and unhealthy) ideals the way that so many other poor starlets seem to. And it makes them all the more appealing! Hell, neither of these chicks would look half as good in waif form as they do now - it simply wouldn't be natural for their structures. In the pic posted by kristen of Scarlett above she glows health.

You are just ignorant; on a very tall women, who is muscular - they can look very trim and lean AND be a size 12.

Kate Winslet is a great actress and seams very lovely and down to earth - so she looks great all around - her appeal adds to her beauty!

^ A size 12 is not fat. That article shows a picture of a size 12 model. I know, what a cow (joking). It depends on how you're shaped. 12 doesn't equal fat. Hell, if someone's short, a size six can look chunky on them.

Anyways, my perfect body canidate? Behka. She's a korean singer, so I'm sure no one knows her, but I think she has a wonderful body. She's "fat" by korean standards, but who isn't fat these days. :/
