don't worry too much....just keep working on it....be strong and be brave. Don't let it take control over your life again. There is much more to life than just ED! (btw....lots of people has just been complimenting me how great I looked! they don't usually do that before!!)

Hey! i did lost my hope too on getting my period back too ages ago! however anything can happen!!

My BMI before i lost it was 18.7 (natually thin since i am an asian) and now i'm about 19.5 a little bit more. However I am completely over food restriction, eat lots of healthy fats such as nuts for about a year. Well at the lowest point of my BMI was actually 15.3 but i lost my period since BMI hit about 17. I have gained my weight back for about a year plus a little more as well. :)

I do work out though, about 3-5 days at the gym for 30 minutes just to tone my butts and legs. Otherwise nothing....sitting all day (a college student with tonnes of books to read and essays to write.)

Do not lose you hope, there always light at the end of this journey.

hi-

so i lost mine at like a bmi of 20 bc i was overexcercising and not eating enough.  i had always been on the heavier side.

rt now im at a bmi of amout 19 and for the past month or so ive been very heavy on the nuts.  my lowest was a bmi of like 17.5 i think.

rt now i WO 5-6/wk of light-moderate cardio, about 20 mins, but im eating 2500-2900 calories.  what do u mean by toning or wahtever it is that u do at the gym? i guess u walk on campus tho which is GREAT, i have a deskjob.  how much r u eating?

congrats again!

The thing is i don't really count anymore. I don't even know how much I am eating. But quite a lot in comparison to my friends, even guy friends. Another thing I find really useful is eat lots of pulses soya and nuts...they can apparently raise your hormone levels. I am suspecting I am consuming about 1900-2500 depending on how much I studies.

BTW, my campus is VERY VERY VERY SMALL since I am in London and my campus is one of the most compacted and condensed campus in the world....-_-'' so there we go...very little exercise, apart from IF i go up the stairs in the Library which is so tiring and really weird design. Absolutely everyone hates it.

My toning being 20 minutes of just normal walking up hill and some biking for the rest of the time.

However I do notice that our starting BMIs, or our natural BMIs are different. I think the rule of thumb is that, go back to your original and plus a little bit more to ensure that your body is now thinking that you are not longer restricting.

P.S. Drinking soya milk helps too!

Best of Luck!

aw i'm so happy for you! really inspiring too :)

im 27 havnt had any since i was 17 my bmi is about 16.8 now i need a miracle :(

There is always hope! Believe in yourself! It takes time and do work hard get rid of that EVIL ED THOUGHTS! I totally know how HARD it was to make yourself eat and scared about gaining weight! Skinny is not beautiful, curvy is HOT!! <3

I just wish i have more boobs....-_-''

OK keep in mind the boobs that you will have after you gain the weight! The weight+hormones will make them appear!!

xx

p.s. if you need any support, feel free to message me and add me.

ha, yea, ive had the boobage increase 4 sure!!

yes, i agree that starting weight is important, i was always heavier, im not going to deny that.  no, i dont need to be overweight again but a bmi of 20 may not be enough for MY body.

pulses as in beans? what r soya beans? i eat a lot of almonds, peanuts, a nd peanut butter.  soya is soy milk, like vegetarian? i drink milk+eat yogurt.

i sit at a desk all day, then i do the 20ish mins of elliptical and/or walking.  biking as in stationary?

thanks!

congrats! you should be so proud of yourself. that's awesome. good for you.

Helen, you don't need a miracle! You just need your committment. You're going to do it. You're such a doll, you are going to go on to do amazing things but I think I told you that I'm flying to the UK for a period party when you get yours!

Agruskin- I was always heavier and I'm with you in that a bmi of 20 isn't enough for my body frame. I gained from 113 to 133 to get pregnant (with the help of hormones and then Clomid, the ovulation drug) with my second and even after gaining to 133 - I think that's a bmi of 20.5 or something for me - it wasn't enough. I had my least painful periods at about 145 but I was usually heavier, with a bmi between 24 and 27 for most of my teens and early 20's.

BSH-yea, im not at a bmi of 20, more like 19, what about u? im still eating 2500-2900 bc im still gaining.  i honestly dont expect it to come back on its own, im taking meds to induce it 4/yr to just "clean things out". i forget, r u my height, around 5'4?

thanks bethany and sweeties h x

agru I'm 5'7.5" but the BMI is about the same as yours and fluctuating. I think if your body is craving nuts it is a good sign because I read an article on the magic of nuts and the menstrual cycle - the good fats can help bring on a period and the B vitamins take away cramps and pms, etc. Anyway my only personal frame of reference is when I first got my period - April 1995 when I was almost 12 and I was 5'4" and about 122. I got down to 118 and began running (and doing a lot of other exercise) and didn't get a period back until I stopped exercising all together, got up to about 140 and 5'5" and was eating an awful lot of pancakes. I don't know if that's the remedy...

Bsh-haha, pancakes as the remedy! i lost mine as i said at a bmi of 20, bc of excercising and undereating.  im confused, ur 5'7.5 rt, not 5'5?  im still aiming to gain tho, r u?
