I am in SHOCK!
This defies LOGIC!
..I lost my period when i was 130 pounds at 5'8.. I lost weight and gained weight in and out of hospitals and never saw my period show any sign of life..even on 2400 kcal foods! Years later im 109 and struggling to stay above 100/105.. I am having a hard time eating but am trying really hard.. This last few weeks ive battled several health issues so i have been eating poorly but not really intentionally (just felt sick and dizzy) and this morning i woke up... to a period..somewhat mild heavy too! What the hell?! I hear girls who loose their periods have to eat MORE to get it back etc..Mine comes back when i eat less/lose weight? HAVE A BAD FEW WEEKS?? How is this possible? Is it a miracle? I am soo confused!! Has anyone else heard of such a thing? Could it not be a period? Sure looks like one.. my head is spinning.. I want to scream and be happy that i can have children but part of me feels tricked or something.. Im sooo lost... !!
Wow! This gives me hope that mine may return as well!
So 2 years without it completly? Did you have your hormone levels tested at the gyno? Have you eaten more fat but kept your calorie level low?
Wow well I guess congrats!
Might be another underlying reason?
I went 15 months thinking it was over for me...no more periods.YEA!![]()
I am 49 though. I just had a normal period...I was shocked...laughing the whole time I had cramps because I had been bragging off to my sister and friends. Thought I was home free.
You should have your thyroid checked. I had mine removed in September 2007 and am just now getting back to normal. It controls everything! I was very surprised to find out how it does effect the entire body. Since I had it removed, I have lost over 40 pounds. I don't know if my period came back cause of the weight loss or my TSH levels getting back to normal. I am very happy for you! Just get a check up to make sure your thyroid levels are normal.
I havent' had mine in over 3 years. I had it in 2005 and before that it was 2003. It usually comes every few years. I'm hoping once i lose weight it will come back. I worry i won't be able to have kids.
whoa nelly!
i'd tell your doctor asap, that might not be a period. i hope you're okay, and i hope it IS a period, but please do get it checked out. much luck and love!

Thank you for finally saying that, geauxkristen!! I'm surprised it took 5 posts for someone to state the obvious.
This could be a big problem. Going that long without your period is a big problem anyway, and I hope your doctor knows about it...this COULD just be a period, but it is worth getting checked out right away....like, as soon as you can.
In your case, please see your doctor immediately. This may be a period finally, but then again it could be something else. Your symptoms of being sick and dizzy are possibly a result of your not eating enough, especially since you are currently underweight.
I actually got my period back at a weird time too.
I lost it about 2 years ago when I started dieting for the first time. I started at 5'3 and 108 lbs and dropped down to 82 lbs at 5'5. I was hospitalized, gained up to about 110, dropped back down to 90 within a month, was re-hospitalized several times, eventually got up to 116 by eating roughly 4000 cal per day. Then , I dropped 10 pounds again and got it back.
Bodies are just weird.
