Heya do most people gain weight during or before your period? Cos ive just gained 2.5 lbs but during my period not before it, does this happen to anyone else?

Don't worry.  You can be 2 or 3lbs heavier or lighter on any given day for no real reason... including periods.   To keep fluid gains to a minimum make sure you drink plenty of fluids, eat plenty of vegetables, wholegrains and other unprocessed foods and keep your consumption of sugar, salt, alcohol, caffeine, fizzy drinks and refined starches to a minimum

Only judge your weight on a once a week basis even if you step on the scales more frequently.  Easy come, easy go.

I don't weigh myself during my period.  There's no point in making myself feel more like crap than I already do during that time.

i gain up to 4 lbs! the week before, i dont  lose it until a few days after my start date. no worries.

good to know becuase it takes me the whole month to lose that amount, and im feeling quite bloated i was just  confused becuase i was 8 13 the morning of it and im 9 now i havent been overeating or anything, i was 8 11.5 last sat, im just a bit peeved

It's likely just water weight.  It's normal to retain 1 - 4 pounds of water just before and during your period.

I always weight more during, not before.  Right before my recent period, I weighed in at 150.6 and during I weighed anywhere inbetween 151-153lbs.  After I was down to 149.6.  It's annoying and I try to stay away from the scale during my time of the month.

I have been weighing myself daily just to see if I there are any patterns with water retention, etc. I've noticed that after weekends (Monday) my weight is at the highest, and then it is the lowest Saturday morning. I attributed that to maybe increase sodium on weekends and not as much water intake.

Period came this week, but last week I didnt meet my goal weight, and was 2.5 lbs more than expected. Kind of sad haha! It seemed either once period came my water retention dropped. I think it is more likely - for me - that my weight increases BEFORE period. Something about progesterone levels? I dont remember. I didn't meet my weight goal this week either, and I am hoping it is still the water retention...or maybe not. We'll see next week.

 

i always can see the gain a day or two after significant sodium or alcohol as well. its good to learn what to expect to see on the scale in response to what you eat or drink or go through cyclicly. helps to keep you from freaking out when you see the upwards fluctations.

damn i hate periods, hopefully my weight will go back down again,

it happens with me, i gain around 5 lb during those days, once its over funny thing happen with me, for 2 to 3 days i keep on going to washroom every 30 min( i think my body is trying to flush out the water it had retained), its little irritating, but i have accepted it!!!!!!grrrr

i gain during not before. i started last night (sorry if its tmi) and was up a pound this morning.

its good to know that im not the only one who gains during as so many people gain before then lose it during
