Yuh. If you don't get enough fat in your diet, it can make your period late.
Try dairy products, nut products, and avocados.
Although I've never been late 3 weeks before, ice cream does the trick for my late periods.
If you don't get your period for another month, please make an appointment with an OBGYN.

hey, i am having the exact same problem. My period is really late, and I have no clue why. So if you or anybody else knows of anything that would help, please let me know!
i am lucky that mine arrives bang on time every month - sometimes 3 - 4 days early.
i thought it would be a lot more unreliable due to my size - i am large - but it has made no difference whatsover.
if you are concerned see your doctor.

If you have an eating disorder/or you're anorexic and aren't getting the right nutruance/nurishment for your body your period can cease. Over an extended period of time causing you to be unable to conceive.
Also, the depo shot for birth control can cause your periods to stop.
There are multiple reasons it that it could be due to. Such as a hormonal imbalance.
It's important to go to your doctor to find out why exactly and fix the issue.

It's true I went to my nutritionist and she told me that If someone my age doesn't eat at least 1,700 calories a day with at least 20 grams of fat Will seriously NOT be able to conceive. Thats when I started shoving food down my throat (More avocadoes) and I got my period a week later after 7 monts of no real period.
Weight gain/loss, exercising, different food intake, [and stress] are all factors of not getting your period. I had that happen to me a few times [actually, at 16 when my period was also regular, and after starting to exercise and eating well, I missed it for a few months]. Try eating a bit more, and if you miss it three times in a row, then go to the doctors. [That's what my friend told me, adn she had been studying to become a nurse!]
just being 14 will do it.
i was NEVER regular until 20.
skipping more than 3 months should be review by your doctor.
it can affect bone health. (hormone problems or cal def)

yeah, it's not at all uncommon to have irregular periods through adolescence and into your twenties. unless you have very low body fat, it's probably nothing to worry about.
that said, if you do have a very low body fat percentage, that will interfere with hormone production. that's why chubby girls often hit puberty very early, and athletic, skinny girls are often very late (even 16 or 17).
if that's what's going on, eating ice cream won't make a difference (it might for an adult, but not for an underweight teen). it's not the fat you eat, it's the fat on your body that matters.

This sounds funny...but sometimes my period will come a week or so late...and i'll just take a few advil (which thins your blood) and my period usually will start within an hour or two after taking a few pills. Just an idea. It ALWAYS works for me.
