Periodization, has anyone tried it?

Quote  |  Reply

So, I've been doing Krista's 4 day conventional split for about 6 weeks now and am pretty bored and thinking about switching it up. I'm considering trying periodization using a 3 day split and one of the periodization calculators I have found on Krista's site. Have any of you tried this and had any luck with it? Do you know if it would work better for split routines rather than full body? I know that the benefits of 3/week full body routines are more recognized now than they used to be, but it seems like periodization would lend better to split routines.

Any way, any ideas?

I'm awfully bad at making decisions on these types of things.

im finding that full body sessions tend to make doing other training a little more challenging. however i completely understand & agree with the benefits of doing full body each session. but doing split never hurt me & i made good enough progress. im doing ful body now tho. but i say go ahead & experiment, i always do. unless you are going for a specific goal in a specific time frame where you dont have time to experiment.
