Personal Challenge Through the Holiday

I belong to a challenge group and just like all groups, we suffer our ups and downs, not only on the scale, but with motivation and everything else. With the holidays coming up, it only gets a little tougher to do everything we think we need to for our health and weight loss.

Anyway -- I came up with a challenge that I issued to my challenge mates -- and then one of my buddies came across kind of down in the dumps so I issued her the same challenge.

Now I offer this challenge to anyone who wishes to take me up on it. You will have accountability for it -- although if you need extra encouragement, please feel free to ask.

You don't have to sign up for this -- you don't have to post your weight, your measurements, or weigh in weekly. If you do it, great (I would like to know, but it's not necessary)

This is yours and yours alone -- I encourage you to copy it/print it and post it in a conspicuous location (or more than one spot) -- the bathroom mirror, the fridge, and the bedroom mirror/bedside table come to mind.

My goal weight for 1 Jan is ___
To accomplish this, I will eat a minimum** of ____ calories and a maximum of _____ calories per day. I will eat at least 25/30 grams of fiber, and drink at least 64 oz of water per day.
I will make every effort to make wise food choices when in my power to do so.
I will try to face down indulgences, tasting only a bite -- realizing that it is within MY power to recreate a holiday recipe if I need/want to -- I do NOT need to eat as if I will not see this food again (for a year).

I will exercise for a minimum of ____ minutes per day

I understand that there will be times when I don't meet my daily goals -- I will not panic and I will NOT GIVE UP. I will start again as soon as I can. This is MY life, this is MY health, and I have the power to do this.

I am losing weight for the following reasons:




** please note -- current recommendations are that adult women eat a minimum of 1200 calories per day/adult men 1500 -- please do not pick a minimum of less than that.
