I dont know about you... But im a fatty. Yup... thats right... a real porker. Some of you know my story.. I was fat all my childhood. Then I got real fed up with being fat and lost over 100lbs and became a firefighter... but then i fell in love with a godess moved, left my department and got fat again.
But... I have been working my ARSE off... quite litterally to get back into shape. I started a 13 week program and now on my fourth week I have lost 18 lbs and gained muscle.
Today I made some personal milestones... I jogged the mile in 10:12.. which is my best since I started jogging again. I know.. im slow... I boxed with high intensity for 11 minutes before become winded.... When I stated I made it about 2 and half minutes. I did 400 crunches non-stop in one set today... when I started I only did 4 sets of 25. And I did 150 pushups (inclined). When I started I could only do 10.
Obvious progress. Yay for me!
Too bad I still look fat. The good news is Im down a shirt size and I dont jiggle as much as I did three weeks again...
Now what gives? Tell me your milestone... I dont care how big or how little!

One of my milestones was to fit into a size 10, now I fit into a comfortable size 8!
I also wanted to lose the weight gradually so I wouldn't hurt my body... I don't know if that is a milestone, but it took me a year to drop 35lbs and I'm so happy I did it this way.

First off, great job on the progress so far! And you seem to have the right attitude to get it done!
You probably have a good set of muscles under that fat that aren't taking that much time to get back into working out. Hence the quick progress in doing the workout.
To burn fat, you need cardio. Not just any cardio, you need cardio that lasts a while and in the right target heart rate. Doing intense cardio is great for your lung capacity and stamina. But to burn fat, you need to do longer cardio in a lower heart rate. Might want to google around to find the right heart rate for you.
I'm still working on my milestones. I'm doing a program that has a great ab workout. First time I did it, I couldn't do half of it. Or maybe even a quarter. Its 11 exercises, 25 reps of each. At first, I would stall after 12 or so. I hit 20 of the first 9 sets last night. And last night was an off night (I wasn't feeling top shape). I'm looking forward to finishing the whole routine, 25 reps. Won't be the best form, but hey, its a goal.
I have been working hard on my strenght training (upper, core, and lower body) for the past month. I'm looking forward to this summer where I will be taking my bike in to work again and I will be able to (hopefully) see the progress in terms of effort, time and stamina at the end of the program.

Thats awesome ravenlark! I cant wait to drop some pant sizes! With the way its going.. it shouldnt be too long.
Small milestone...
Stopped working out for two weeks, gained five pounds, and just started working out again last night.
I feel sore and wonderful today because I know I followed through for my goals....
That's all I have! =)

my shortest goal is 5 pounds a month. No up and down...5 REAL pounds lost.
What I am waiting to see happen is some clothes that are tight to start fitting again. Can't wait!

I now fit into a pair of pants I love (hadn't worn in 5 years) AND they're getting a bit baggy!
Wooohooo!
Go Levi and everyone else here!
I have two milestones I'd love to share:
My first one is: I have always loved to run, but last October I finished my first half-marathon in 2 hrs, 16 minutes. Hardest thing I've ever done. It was amazing.
My second milestone is - my weight is in the 160s (some days, it's 165, others 169, but never 170, not anymore!). That's a HUGE thing for me - I started at about 215lbs!! Also - now, when I buy jeans, I almost always get the size 10 - another milestone, after years of size 16s and 18s and 20s.
I am fast approaching my healthy goal weight of 145 (or so, I am not picky!) I have never in my adult life been as small as I am now, so to be even smaller, and fitter, just seems like a crazy dream to me, but I know I can do it - and I am gettin' myself the first bikini of my life when I do!
Good luck everyone! We can do it!

i am 2 pounds away from being under 200. THIS is a big goal for me just so that i feel i have started something! :)
I just got under 200 so I know how that feels - it's great - and I wanted to get outta size 16's and I did - so I sold em on ebay and bought some 12's and 14's. My mile is way, way slow but I can do a mile now and before there was no way...
My goal is for my cardio workouts, to stay in my target zone for 60 minutes three days a week - and for 40 minutes three days a week and to be totally lazy one day per week!

@_@~ I've decided it's time to actually lose the weight..and I can't do more than 10 crunches without becoming winded. D: Congrats, though!
Keep going!
Keep going!
Hmm, I think my first milestone was getting under 200 pounds, which happened realtively quickly (less than a month to go from 210 to 199). So that was awesome. I envy ravenlark and okiepic, however. I've lost 22 pounds and still not dropped a size =-( It's okay, I know it's coming soon!
My latest one though has been to be able to do a 25 mile bike ride. I signed up for a 100 mile ride in September and am trying to slowly work my way to it. As of this weekend I made 25 miles at once- and I did it in just 1 hr 26 minutes! That was the most awesome part of it all! That means I may be able to do 100 in 5 1/2 hours! Okay, not realistically because I know I'll get tired and slow down, but I like to delude myself!

I could not ?weight? to crow about my success...
A brief history, I could not gain weight *not anorexic / bulimic just always under weight*, 5? size 3 met hubby in a month-120lb (loves to cook) 20 yrs. later 190lbs.
This past November 30th working hard to loose weight (4 yrs. finally 166 lbs)
Doctor was pleased but still disappointed, numbers are terrible * particularly Glucose.
The ultimatum loose a minimum of 10 lbs by March 8 07 or start meds...
All of Dec I did not loose (discouraged) I did the usual deprivations NO CHOCOLATE (even sugar free!) countless pepper sticks *red, green, orange, yellow & gold julienne, incalculable carrot sticks celery stalks you get the idea and exercise...I did not gain over the holiday(s) (somewhat encouraged, find it where you can).
I finally found this pot of gold called Calorie-Count. 01.01.07 great for the New Year resolutions
(I never made them so I never worried about breaking them, until now)
I can really eat and enjoy without feeling guilty.
However, sometimes it is easier said than done to measure everything so I average similar items, estimate and round up. I also love the Recipe Analyzer

My Dr. appointment changed from the 8th to the 22nd it gave me a little extra time
As of 03.22.07 drum roll...145 !!! 21 lbs total weight loss since 01.01.07, no additional meds (diabetes averted by diet and exercise alone) prescription loose another 25 lbs...:)
Health wise (medically) I have issues that cause havoc with my weight I must pay closer attention to the labeling. I have always watched sodium and fat, last 4 yrs. sugars and carbs as of last year nuts seeds and soy, no coffee it raises my Triglycerides...what else can I lose... well at least a few more sizes:)
My Best to Everyone on Their Quest
I recommend this site to everyone including the doctors and nurses I have been encountering
