What is your personal victory?
I am so tired of hearing about all the negatives of being overweight. I want to hear your insiprational stories of your personal victories in this weight loss journey. Mine:
Resizing my wedding ring from an 8 to a 7
Beating my husband by one whole minute in a 5k race last month
Being able to walk into any store and buy something off the rack
Ok, your turn, go!
Realizing that I can have sweets in the apartment without eating them in one sitting :)
Not being the last one behind on a hiking trip!
Being able to buy clothing in any store (this was the reason why I wanted to lose weight in the first place) OR not having to buy the largest size the store carries!
Looking good in workout clothes (instead of a baggy t-shirt & shorts!)
Increased confidence overall.
Increased fitness... being able to walk up a hill, stairs, etc without huffing & puffing.
Getting to the point where I actually enjoy eating right & intense exercise.
Finally getting over the need to snack mindlessly.
So many more things...
Forgot an important one, being able to go on a bike ride with my son without feeling like I'm going to pass out on the side of the road!
I recently was brave enough to try on my old 'skinny' shorts and they fit! It felt really good to put them on and they not be tight. I haven't worn them in about 4 years so it was a great feeling to know I can start wearing some of my old pre-fat clothes again. ![]()
Fitting into my younger sister's jeans! That was great.
When I wore a skirt for the first time in years and my thighs didnt rub together. I think I popped with excitment on that one!
The first time I hit 188lbs since high school. Even though I didnt hold it that long I've just recently gotten back there and its just... its just boggling to me to think I thought I was HUGE then =p
The best has just come recently though... I've realized I'm 6lbs from dropping into the overweight catagory. I haven't been in that since I was in my early teens. :)
Wearing the smallest size I ever remember wearing: an 8. I was a 12 for the longest time...highest was 16.
Not looking like a sausage in the current style of feminine tops.
Having my mother buy me a little black dress "just for my new figure."
Maintaining this new figure at school for the past two months while still eating things like doughnuts and muffins and cookies and pizza. :P

Hey Prinzessin, will you please have your mother call my mother? I want a little black dress "just for my new figure"
LOL! Don't know if it will work.
We were visiting my aunt in FL and she was buying me clothes at Kohls and my mom just happened to find a size 8 "lil black dress" on the clearance rack. We were looking for formal businessy type clothes. My mom knows how to appreciate a serendipitous deal.
Oh and I forgot another victory. Having muscular definition in my arms and legs.
Being smaller than my sister again, especially since she made fun of me for gaining weight
Seeing my 6 pack again (when I flex hard in the right light)
Wearing a size 6 dress to the wedding I went to with my bf
The fact that my pants are a (big) size 4 today. (Still a 6 really, but nice to see that #) When they used to be 10s and 12s
Developing some kick a** calves.
doing 80 push ups including 20 straight, some were diamonds, some with my legs on balance ball.
not stress eating despite having a very Horrible two weeks, in fact i've lost 3lbs!
being able to walk up the stairs at school and across campus without needing to stop (i have horrid athsma, so this is fantastic for me)
fitting into a size 9 (i'm not brave enough to try an 8 yet ^^'), but this is the first time since i was little that i've been below double digits in womens pants.
learning early on that i can still have mcdonalds now and then, or a weekend of drinking and its not the end of the world ^.^
How about being in front of the camera again with the family & not insisting on taking the picture...

^^ that is the most important victory someone who wants to lose weight and keep it off can achieve
I posted about this the other day, but I'll share here as well...
Being able to hold a shoulderstand position while doing yoga.
Cutting my mile down from 13 minutes to 10.5 minutes. I haven't ran like this since I was a wee kid!
