Pet Peeves

What are yours? Be specific. I don't want any general answers like, "stupid people" because I think we can all agree with that. I want to know what the stupid people do or don't do that bugs you. Think hard about it.

Being asked what my pet peeves are.  Specifically.

Mine consist of:

The fact that most men seem to lack the part of their brain that can tell the difference between "clean" and "dirty."

#2 pencils--they give me the chills while writing. I'll take a mechanical pencil, thank you very much.

People who walk out of the room while you are still speaking.

Being interrupted numerously by the same person while speaking. (I can tolerate a couple times)

when dinner and dessert forks are in the same section of the silverwear holder...really, I go NUTS.

I think my kids do it to watch my reaction....

I have a lot. I'm irritable. I guess the biggest are:

1. Coming into contact with the shower curtain while I'm in there. It freaks me out. I hate it.

and

2.Things getting stuck to the bottom of my feet. I find shoes totally confining and like to be barefoot (or as close to) as possible. I HATE when I'm walking around my house and step on something that shouldn't be on the floor in the first place and it clings to my foot.

My boyfriend, family, and friends all think these are really weird peeves, but peeves they are. Severe ones.

Different size paper clips are not allowed to be in the same container.

similar to opllez... I hate standing on a wet floor!!!

and pav - yes, and the big ones are better. :)

I hate colored paper clips.

I hate when people going fast in the fast lane are too impatient to wait for the slow person in the fast lane to figure out its time to move over.

believe me, I have a 98% "IDIOT IN FRONT OF ME MOVE OVER" rate. You just have to give it a minute. Otherwise you (and yes, by extension the idiot in the fast lane) are risking EVERYONES life out there.

to reveal the OCD of my pet peeve... The slow person HAS to move over because its just wrong to pass in the lane that should be slower. Its UNNATURAL!!!

I've tailed someone for 30 minutes before I gave up and passed on the right. I HATE to pass on the right!

Guys who don't shave. I mean really it's your face. Shave it. It's not that I'm against facial hair all together, I don't mind if they have a beard, gotee, or mustache. Just keep it trimmed up.

MANDALS! *shudder*

and also - people who say "shutter" but mean "shudder".

You're shuttering? really? you out flapping around a window somewhere?

people who squeeze the toothpaste from the middle!!!

Having a trash compactor, it seriously ANNOYS me when, seemingly, I'm the ONLY one who is willing to trip the little foot lever to open it, and put the trash IN IT-- instead of on the counter ABOVE IT...

They leave it waiting, I guess?, for me to come along and dispose of it for them...!!!

WHY...???

People who break on the freeway instead of changing lanes when you politely signal them that you're going faster.

People who speed up when the notice that you're going faster...they're only going to fall back asleep in another minute.

I not only have many, but I relish the chance to talk about them!

1. I HATE if anyone crunches ice within ear-shot of me! I get goose bumps and major case of the willies!! Or, if it's someone I don't particularly like, then anything they are eating that makes a crunching sounds bugs me.

2. I HATE when someone does not make sure the toilet is flushed...all the way..and clean before leaving the bathroom. Gross!!

3. I HATE when (and have only seen this in Alabama) the person driving in front of me turns on their turn signal to signify that the person in front of them is about to turn! Your turn signal is for when YOU are turning! Also, along the same lines, when someone brakes almost to a stop and THEN decides to put on their turn signal. It's turn signal first, then brake, people!

4. When someone is chewing a mouth-full of food and holds the food in their cheeks while chugging a drink...Gross! Chew, swallow, then drink. It looks nasty!

5. When someone rinses a dish off in the sink and leaves the food particles in the sink...or on a dish rag. Nasty!

6. The use of the word- irregardless.

7. Loose vs lose.  Curve vs curb. Prostrate vs prostate. 

8. Pronouncing the word "height" with a "th" sound at the end. (also only in Alabama).

9. Women who insist on still doing their hair and dressing like its 1985...you know who you are...or maybe you don't and that's the problem? News flash- the 80's was a great decade for music and movies...bad for fashion!

10. As a dietitian...I hate when someone, refering to a certain food, asks me "is this fattening"?... Well, how much are you going to eat??!!

There are many more, but I don't want to appear gluttonous...

When somebody takes a sip of my milk or my water.  Ugh.  Keep your cooties away from my glass!

loud ticking clocks always seem to drive me insane
