If you had a petite frame, would a size 6 suit you?
I know it didn't for me. Yesterday, my mom showed me a picture of me in a bikini about 3 months ago. Awful. Just plain awful. Even though I was technically a size 6, which is not a big size whatsoever, it didnt suit me. My stomach stuck out over my hips, and I didn't look proportioned. That was when I was 130 pounds, at 5'2". Now I am 10 pounds less, and also 2 sizes less. I look much better now, and healthier. For some people, a size 6 looks amazing on them. But I guess it all depends on your body type. I look fine in a size 2, but to someone else (probably somebody tall) it might look too skinny.
Who else has been in this situation? Also, you can brag about your success stories here. ;)
Haha, size 6? Sheesh! I wear about a 9/10, and when I was 20 pounds lighter I wore a 7/8. Then again, I weigh about 165 right now, and I weighed 145 then. However, I also have a very muscular build, which comes from being on the swim team, and thus working out about 20 hours a week!
I think what it all boils down to is fat percentage. :-)
I forogt the majority of people on CC were american! When I read size six I automatically assumed a british size six - US size 1? By the end of your post I thought you ment you were a size 00.. and got a bit of a fright lol.
Is the average size of an american woman, the same as a british woman. Here apparently the average size is a 14-16, a US size 10 I think?
tyrdrop, I think it does to. A size 6 did not look good on me, I can tell you that, and I'm not being critical of myself. :P And wow, 20 hours a week? that's impressive. I wish i was more like you. I'm just so gosh darn lazy :P
and twiggy, yeah I think american sizes are 2 less then british sizes, so yes, a british 14-16 is a U.S. size 10-12. LOL a 00, I remember I tried that on once, but it was by accident. The tag said 4, but the label inside was a 00. I put them on, and I couldnt get them past my mid-thighs!! Im like What?!?!? I couldn't of put on this much weight?! It was funny, and a bit of a scare. xD
I probably sound pretty bitchy in saying that at 5'5" I don't like myself in a size 6. I think I look best in a size 4. I know people at my height would kill to be a size 6, but that's just not small enough for my own personal satisfaction. I have a very small frame though. But I have seen many women who look great at a size 6... I guess it just depends.
I've got a VERY petite frame and a size 6 would swallow me whole. I look better in a 0 or a 2.

I'm with you hayleabrianne.....I'm definitely not petite, since I'm 5'7"....but I don't prefer myself at a size 6 either. And I know I'm not fat or anything at all, and I probably look fine to others, but I'm just not as small as I'd like to be. I prefer myself at 115-118 pounds in a size 3-4 instead of what I'm at now, 125 pounds in a size 5.
My bf says I'm "pretty petite" lol, but I don't really consider myself petite... I'm 5ft 4.5in, and my hips and shoulders are pretty broad. I have a curvy figure (even though I don't have a rack or that big of a butt; but I am curvy). I am currently in a size 5 (4 is tight, and 6 is baggy) and I still have belly fat and fat thighs. So I think at my best I'll be a 2. It's a long-term goal though... but yeah a 6 is nice and "perfect" by society's standards... but I'm not feeling it. lol. Although I am not entirely sure my hips will allow me into a 2... guess I'll have to see! lol!
Wow, it seems like a lot of people are in the same boat. I guess it bothers me a bit that a good portion of people think that a size 0 or size 2 is too skinny, and 'toddlers' clothes as some say. but i still have fat, and look healthy thank you very much!
