Petite?

I will join you (if you want me).  I just about class as petit measuring 5 ft 3in.  How much do you want to lose?  I'd like to lose 14 pounds.  A stone. A whole stone.  Grr.  And I would like to do it by the middle of June if poss.

One of my main difficulties is that I make bespoke cakes for a living.  The one I've just taken out of the oven is driving me mad and has made me (yes the cake made me!  They are strong whilst I am weak.) eat about 8 Jaffa Cakes.

My other problem is that I do like a glass of wine once the kids have gone to bed.  I think I'll be fine if I can cut out the wine and the Jaffa cakes BUT IT'S SO HARD!

Oh and just in case you were wondering, if I went to bed at 8pm every night I'd be perfectly fine.  If I go over that (which of course I do, every night, because I'm a grown up and not my four year old daughter) that is when I eat and drink and forget how good I've been all day so that's when I need a good talking to and to be pulled away from the cupboard.

Anyway, Hayley, this is your show so let me know how you want to play it?

:)

Im here to maintain/ lose 5 ish pounds. But Id love to have a group to be accountable with. LMK!

Im 5' (when Im lucky)

and weigh 108 now. down from 175ish.

Wow, well done Gemini!  How long did that take you?  And are you sure you want to lose another 5 pounds?  Your height/weight ratio seems perfect to me.

Well, I'm not here to lose weight (5'1", 100lbs), but just wanted to say hi to another petite gal :)

I'm 4'9" and a 3/4 and I want to lose another 10- 15 lbs. I was 140 when I started and now I'm 129.5 which is great. I'm glad to be in the 120's again. My time frame is the end of May to early June. It would be nice to be 115 - 120ish. At least my BMI would be in the healthy range.

Greetings!   I'm a newer member, 5'2" and 117.  My goal is 110.

I'm 5"1, weigh 108 (down from 120!) and I'm looking to get to 105... so I hear ya. It seems like the last few pounds are the hardest to lose though, it feels like it's taking forever. :P

In February (the deep freeze of Wisconsin) I began using this tool. I am a 47 year old female, 5'1.75", began at 139.6 lbs. I was terrified to jump over that 140 mark.

I commited myself to reading one thing a day to improve my program. My current quest is to find a high fiber low fat cracker for my soup and snacks. I love chips and Keebler too much.  I have logged all of my activity and food intake, as a result I am down to 125 LBs.  My incentive was a trip to Florida from Wisconsin. I wanted to wear my favorite suit and I DID! I am starting to wear my thin clothes again and I am slowly retireing the fat clothes.

I never loose it fast, but I am loosing. I have two  family weddings to go to in June, so I will be seeing old friends I haven't seen since Childhood. Because those last 10 lbs are always the toughest, I can give and use encouragement and  support.

Key Success Factors: Drink 3 quarts of water a day, walk at least 30 minutes or get on my Gazzell for 45 minutes. If I can walk longer on the weekends I do, dance as often as possible and use weight training to build muscle- which burns more fat.

Hi

I am 4' 8 3/4"  and when I started here on April 21st was 210 lbs.

Today I am 204 lbs so everything is working well at the moment.  I have a goal weight of 105 lbs.  As long as I lose before I turn 50 which is September 2009.  I want a 50th Birthday where I feel and look like the belle of the ball.

Vanity aside, I also want it for my own health reasons, at this present moment I do not have any pressing health issues, apart from being morbidly obese. That is to say i dont have high bp or diabetes or anything nasty, and I want to lose the weight before I do.

I do look after my husband who has been fighting cancer for 6 years and has recently been diagnosed with Parkisons, so I want to be really fit and healthy to look after him as his illnesses progress over the next few years.

I am eating 1450 calories which is what the settings put as my caloricic intake, and I do light acitivity, in that I spend a lot of time looking after my husband. My mian excercise is walking my dog twice a day.  Someitime we do 60 minutes in the morning and 30-60 in the evening depending on the time we get out and the weather.

I don't go to the gym as it is too far away and we live in the country, and on a limited income I can't afford gym membership.  I do have fitness videos that when  I lose a bit more I will do in the lounge room.

Sorry to write a book, but looking forward to finding lots of motivation from many of you that have lsot wiehgt or have never got to the excess that I have, so I can learn when I go into maintenance how people keep a lower weight.

:) Vera

Hi Vera,

Sounds like you and I have about the same amount of weight to lose.  I'm 5'2" and weigh 210.  My goal is to get to 125.  I just started yesterday, so I don't have any loss/gain to report.  I think that it's wonderful that you've lost 6 pounds already!

I used to consider myself petite, but since I've gained sooo much weight I haven't been able to think of myself as anything but XXL.  I feel like I've buried a part of myself under blobs of fat.  Well now I'm ready to get to work and dig myself out.  Any support or encouragement I can get will be greatly apppreciated, and I'll be glad to be a cheerleader for the group as well.

i'm 5'0 and 133.5 right now.  i've lost 107lbs started at 241.  i'd love to get to at least 120lbs but this last bunch of pounds are a real killer, they don't want to budge, i'd love to join all of you petite's out there.

Hello Little People,

How is it going?  Are we all heading in the right direction?  Yesterday I weighed myself and I'd lost 4 pounds!  Woo hoo I thought.  Today I weighed myself again and I was back up 2!!  Oh well, I'm sure it'll even out somewhere down the line.  At least I've still lost 2, unless I get those back tomorrow!

What a lot of exclamation marks!!

Hope you are all doing well.

:)

We are twins Hayley! Same height and weight (4'11.5", 133).  I'd ultimately like to get down to 110 but I'll be thrilled if I can get under 120. I started out at about 165. I've lost over 30 pounds in a year, since I quit taking antidepressants. I've been losing weight steadily. I want to continue to lose so...here I am.  I'm happy cause I've found that on most days I wasn't eating much more than the 1500 recommended calories (that would explain the weight loss).  The antidepressants slowed my metabolism and definitely made me eat more.  I know I won't get down to 110 without a fight, I was about 15 the last time I weighed that (I'm 29 now) and I was on the swim team.  Soooo, I'm probably going to need to actually start exercising for real if I want to get anywhere.

Hey Ladies--

I added you all as friends.  What do you all think of an Instant messenger support thing?  I know that I spend part of the day online, and I'm available to chat for support, etc.

Let's weigh in with each other each Friday, and share some diet/exercise tips.

Hey all, things seem to be going alright so far; I'm down to 105.4, so very very close to my goal!

I tend to vary my diet a lot so it's difficult to explain it in one post, but I do use a lot of recipes from this link: http://amysmithr.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_arch ive.html. I try to keep breakfast around 250-300 cals, lunch around 300-350 cals, and supper around 350-400 cals. One of my favorite breakfast recipes is one I found here... boil 1 cup of water, add 1/2 cup oats (steel cut), when it's almost finished cooking at 1/4 cup pumpkin, vanilla, and cinnamon. Use splenda to sweeten, add 1/3 cup fibre one (I actually add half as much fibre one and add another 1/6 cup of special k vanilla almond cereal). Add a little brown sugar on the top, and voila! It's delicious and extremely filling.

I started running last week as well and was feeling very good about it until I hurt my foot. :P However, I'm feeling better now and I think I'll give the 5k a try (instructions on how to do it in the Learn to Run thread in the Fitness forum: http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/post/276 98.html.

Friday weigh in's sound good to me.  That will keep me motivated!!

I am 4'11 and 47, I would like to join your forum for support.  I am at 131, although some days 129, and the next day back at 131!!!!  I work in an office, and use the gazelle for 45 minutes at least 4x a week.  I am going through the change (menopause) and it has become harder than ever to lose weight.  I feel heavy and want to lose 20 lbs.

I'd love to know what has worked for you!  BTW-Friday weigh-in sounds like a plan.

Thanks.

We are in the same shape and have the same issues. I am 5'1", 127 lbs teater to 129 on some days. I love my Gazelle but the menoposal swings oh. I have been counting calories diligently- staying under 1400, walking 1 - 1 1/2 hours a day. On the Gazzelle when I cannot go outside (Live in Wisconsin). I realize that I have to cut sodium, sugar and fat. So my weaknesses and indulgences - that have been part of the 1400 calories -  my 1 cup of ice cream per week, my 15 tostitos per week and my southwester dip. I figure that may cut another 500 calories out per week. Salt holds water, all of these products have tons and they all break down into sugar and thus turn to fat. And they already have a ton of fat. My BMI is 23 which is great, but my thighs are still wider then my hips-

Hi, I'm 5'2" 139 lbs down from 150 but I it seems I've hit my plateau (goal weight is 120) I've been at 139 for 3 weeks and I continue to work out 4 times a week - mostly aerobic.  I have a hard time sticking to the 1400 calories so I don't really want to cut any more calories so I think I need to step up the strength training, but I'm not really sure how to do it.  Any Ideas?
