petite girls wanting to lose 10-15 pounds!
I just joined this site in hopes of losing 12 pounds. I have gained about 10 in the past year (poor college kid) and would like to lose them. I am very short and even a little bit of weight gain shows on me, so I need to stop it now! I need supporters! be my friend!
I am 5 ft tall, 106-108 pounds, stubborn belly fat :-P and my goal weight is 95 pounds. and advice from anyone?
hi yay! I'm so excited for this group! Monday weigh-ins scare me a little bit but I guess that is good because they'll keep me more on track over the weekend! I'm 5'0 and 115 and I want to get down to 105. I've been plateaued at 115 for about a week and I really want that extra push to start losing again, but then again I've also had my period, so does that affects weight-loss? Since the beginning of my diet I've lost 20 pounds and I just need to finish that extra 10! I'd say I have around 1200 cals a day, and during the day I'm pretty sedentary (I intern in an office) but I try to go to the gym once I get out of work and will run/walk on the treadmill for about half an hour. Anyone have any advice? Should I try to up my cal intake? Thanks!
welcome to all the newbies! I'm glad everyone is good with mondays, I really think it will motivate us to "behave" during the weekend. so yesterday I was sick, good time to be dieting! I only made it to 700 calories, and most of it didnt stay if you know what I mean. so does anyone know if its a good idea to go like between 1200 and 1400-1500 every day so that your metabolism doesn't slow down? I think thats what I heard but I just want to make sure that I understand correctly.
hi can i join, i'm 5 ft 5, i weigh 9 stones, size eight and i would like to be 8 1/2 stones and a size 6.
oh, p.s. starbunny, good luck with the growing! haha, I'm 19 so I already know I'm not getting any taller, I haven't grown since I was 11. but you still have some time left, so good luck! hopefully a healthy diet will help you to grow a bit, but just remember, good things come in small packages ;-)
welcome anisa, if you read, weigh ins are monday, I have set a goal for next monday to lose 2 pounds. anyone else have a goal for then? what are stones, if I may ask?
I have the same goal as well. I'm 5' 2 and 108 pounds and want to be at 103. I've been slacking on logging my calorie intake and exercise activity. I find when I take the time to log this information I am better able to track my progress. I have to say that I love this site, it helps me track all this information in one place. Also love the toolbar that this site offers. It is awesome! As I log my calorie intake for the day it updates the "Eat Meter" which shows how many calories I have now available for the day based upon the calorie intake needed to achieve my goal weight.

Yeedy,
Thanks so much for the advice. I enjoy the taste of meat but I realize that cutting down on it would help me to lose weight. I'm worried that if I cut it out entirely my body would start rejecting it though so I think I might try to only have meat 1-2 times a week. Id be so sad if I could never eat a hamburger or fish ever again cause my body rejected it. And thanks, I'll aim for around 1500 a day then and see how that goes, hopefully I'll have good results like you. And good luck on losing that pound =]
Aimzee, welcome. We're the same height =]
That sounds like a great plan! If you don't want your body to reject meat then definitely don't cut it out entirely because after a year, thats what happened to me! Yeah and with excercise 1500 a day is perfect if you want permanent results. So far it is working magically for me and I don't feel like I'm restricing at all! I'm just hoping for a pound a week. Before when I would restrict more calories I would be making such a sacrifice during the week that during the weekend I would snap and always consume wayy more than I needed to so that any weight I lost would just come back. Now I know things will change! I just have to watch out for alcohol consuption :/
Monday weigh ins are good for me! Im a bit worried about this weekend however as I have 3 nights of parties planned (rare for one weekend)! One work night out, one night out with friends and one housewarming party! Hopefully I'll be able to just stick to a few low calorie drinks such as vodka etc.
In reference to your stones question Mallz its what people in England often refer to their weight in. Im 9 stone which is the same as 126 pounds. 1 stone = 14 pounds. :) Im hoping to lose a full stone. x x
Hello girlies, would anyone like to compare measurement of body fat? Since we all appear to be in healthy weight ranges I think that might be a more effective way to chart change. I'll start, my measurements are:
bust: 31
waist: 25
hips: 35
I'd like to be at 31-24-33 or so and my body fat percentage is 23.8 according to this site

I'd like that to be down to 20!

I don't think that that website is entirely accurate. :(
I tried it out, and it says 11.8% body fat for me-- aka absolutely NO sense.
I have absolutely no athletic ability, and I'm what one would call "skinny fat", as in although my BMI is very very normal, I'm not muscular at all.
The majority of my weight comes from fat. (I've never had my BF measured, but I'm always honest to myself. I know for fact that I cannot run a 9 minute mile, which someone my age should be able to do. My body fat cannot be only 11.8%, although I WISH it was-- lol).
I think that thats very inaccurate. So I don't think you should set standards for yourself according to that.. o_0 You'd only be misled..
ah, anyway. my measurements are:
Bust: 30
Waist: 23
Hips: 29
**once again, don't chastise me for wanting to lose weight; I'm know that I'm fine the way I am! I'm just trying to get taller and more athletic!! Rather than weight, my goal is to be able to run an 8-9 minute mile before september. If I don't get taller, I'd like to be around 90-92 though. I'm well aware that muscle weighs more than fat, and I'll adjust my goal accordingly. =)

Welcome Starbunny and laghoutloud!
Starbunny, not meaning to be terse but according to those measurements, you ARE skinny! I think that website measures based on size not actual body composition (if it only uses measurements). If you actually want precise body composition measured you'd have to use one of those fany machines that pinches your fat. I think you are just one of those cases where your body is naturally thin even if you are out of shape. You prob shouldn't be restricing any calories, but worrying about toning through arobic and strength trainging. Good luck!
I think the measurements thing is a good idea, since I'm ideally looking to lose the weight in my belly. I will go buy measuring tape tomorrow :-)
is 105
Am I the first to weigh in?:) I'm quite pleased I've lost 2 pounds! I was 126 last week and now im 124. Only 12 more pounds to go! x
Bleh, I'm pretty unhappy about this weigh-in. I almost don't even want to say
I'm 116.2 :(
I wouldn't worry too much lafoutloud....its probably just weekend weight:) x

I weighed friday and i was 110.5
weighed today...111 :( and i binged for breakfast :( and i'm not going to exercise today because i'm a lazy piece :( and i have to go shopping all bloated from my 600+ cal breakfast :( i'm an idiot :(
You think your breakfast was big? Mine was 800 calories! (pancakes) I wouldnt worry about it, I always eat a big breafast and it usually carries into lunch as well.
When I weighed myself yesterday morning I was 104.8 (where last monday I started at 106). But this morning I was 105.6.... I hate weight fluctuations. I am going to wait it out and my goal for the end of this week is 104-103.5. Let's keep it up, don't let weight fluctuations get you down!
yeah mines been fluctuating as well. however, I weighed this morning, and I have lost 1 pound... I was hoping to have lost 2, but I'll just have to work harder for next week.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
