petite girls wanting to lose 10-15 pounds!
I just joined this site in hopes of losing 12 pounds. I have gained about 10 in the past year (poor college kid) and would like to lose them. I am very short and even a little bit of weight gain shows on me, so I need to stop it now! I need supporters! be my friend!
I am 5 ft tall, 106-108 pounds, stubborn belly fat :-P and my goal weight is 95 pounds. and advice from anyone?
Weighed in at 100.5 pounds. ahh I'm debating really hard on whether or not to put a sad smiley or a happy smiley, but Surprisingly enough, I have absolutely no opinion on that. O.o
I mean.. I haven't gotten any taller, but I've noticed that my stamina on the elliptical is much better than before. Which makes me happy! ^__^
So I guess its a good thing that I've been getting better? =]
But my adamant optimism and general happiness at the moment, is encouraging me that the little .5 at the end of the 100 is just my shoes and clothes and all the water I drank when working out. hahahaha =P
~Waiting for next Monday (I promise not to forget next week, and be 3 days late, like I am this week!)
Very sad today:( weighed in at 125 so a pound up from last week! It's my own fault as I had a full cheat weekend with my boyfriend! Ah well. x
113 today :-)
down 1-1.5 pounds from this time last week. i'm really proud of myself because my friends came to visit and we went out to eat a lot but i was a good girl and got a salad!
everyone just keep it up, because people have definitely been noticing weight loss and the compliments are great!
98.5! (i hope the .5 is from shoes, clothes + the 3 bottles of water i gulped down before!)
whiich means 2 pounds to go until I'm 96-- the weight I was back in June.
annd, 6 more pounds until I reach my goal weight. =)
but, i hope to never ever read my goal weight >< i just want some muscle!
haha. all my weekends are cheat weekends (this includes fridays! and occasionally mondays too!) I'm such a lazy little girl =[
*sigh*
Oh I would like to join if you guys don't mind?
I am 15 and 5 '3 and my weight stats are:

Current: 120 lbs
lol this sounds like fun!! mind if i join? ;)
i've been eating really unhealthily ever since summer began... i was 5''1 and 110 lbs... i was so anxious to lose weight that i started to eat only 800-900 cals per day, i've lost 5 lbs in just 2 weeks, but now i've hit the plateau >.< i began to jump rope for 30min/day and ate 1100cals/day for the past month yet i haven't lost a single pound... so it is true that you have to have at least 1200 in order to maintain your metabolism and keep your body healthy!! i've read a lot today and i wish i had known as much as i do now before i started the fad diet! and since i'm 16, i guess i would need a bit more cals per day just for the sake of puberty =.= i reallyyyy wanna be 5''3 =)
here's my post of wanting to lose 5 lbs in 2 weeks before >.< http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/post/109 936.html I know i know... thx to the posts that i've gotten, i've changed my mind completely!!
i recently began to drink green tea after breakfast everyday, hopefully i'll recover from my badd baddd plateau soon >.< I've heard that it speeds up your metabolism and keeps your awake for the day.
I don't know if it might be too much work, but would you guys mind if we share our food & exercise logs? I do one for myself everyday so i don't lose track. I think it would be a great way to share =)

hey!
haha, i love finding threads where i can relate too.
i'm at 5'1 and currently i'm at 117... for the longest time i thought i was 5'2 but i was really bummed when the doctor yesterday told me i'm 5'1 :(
anyway, my Goal weight was 110, but i may decide i need to lose more... anyway, i'm aiming for 110 and i'll see how it goes from there. I'm mainly focused on being satisfied with how i look, not on a particular number.
Ahhh , my complaint about being short is that we can't HIDE any of the weight on us... i mean to some of my taller friends, if they gain 5 pounds i can't tell but if i were to gain 5 pounds, it would probbly be so obvious!
anyways, good luck to everyone here :)
Blahhh I weighed in at 105.4 this morning and yesterday morning because I went to the beach this weekend... But the good news is that I was expecting to GAIN weight when in fact I haven't gained a pound (or lost one...)
Congrats startbunny! you seem to be losing weight pretty fast, how are you doing it?
Hey hey I'm new here, also looking to lose a bit of weight. Right now I'm 24, 4'11 96lbs, looking to get down to 90ish maybe a bit less.
I also, after doing a bit of research realized I might be dealing with an eating disorder. I went through a period where I was obsessed with eating healthy foods - cut out eggs, cheese, milk, junk food obviously, cream based soups, analyzed the ingredients in EVERY food, and choosing something to eat took forever because I had to relate it to the diet plan I was following that week....started working out like a maniac and began to gain weight. So I started freaking out and cutting my calories by trying weight watchers, excessive secret excersize, which caused me to gain MORE weight. So I freaked out even more, and tried to eat as little as possible, failing miserably and bingeing at night. Then I tried all in the span of 2 weeks low carb diet, high protein diet, cutting out lactose...all to no avail. Until I began tracking my calories in comparison to my activity level, realized that I was putting my body into starvation mode by unknowingly eating 500-600 calories /day. I'm still finding it really hard to eat 1200calories - after my workouts I''m still only hitting about 800-900 and live on my own so I can't afford enough food to keep sustain myself. Anyone have any tips on hitting that 1200 or more mark?
You simply have to eat more. I have been through the process you described and upping my calories made a world of difference. At first you won't be hungry, but you still must eat. You will feel lethargic, gross, and stuffed after eating more (even though you are eating as much as you are supposed to, your body won't be used to it). But after a little bit your body will get used to it and you will be more hungry and get used to eating more. Don't be alarmed if you gain a little bit of weight at first (I gained 2 pounds but quickly lost it and am now losing weight steadily since my metabolism is becoming soo much faster). Trust me, it is worth it. Do NOT be afraid to eat more. Just add healthier fats and protein/fiber (nuts, avocado, flax seed, fish, a little olive oil). These will really boost your metabolism and you NEED the extra calories!
I wanna join this thread :P

hey tiny dancer,
I have gone through much the same as you.. I wasnt limiting my calories as much as you (maybe as low at 1100 some days) but that was enough to stuff up my body big time as I was quite active. Im australian.. but i think i would have been a bit less than 100pounds and Im about 5ft. When i stared to gain weight after hitting my lowest weight, I too freaked, tried to eat less and exercise more.. basically it started to turn me slowly into a binge eater where I cant resist 'bad' foods no matter how much or little i enjoy them due to feelings of being so deprived (the chemical imbalance in the brain goes crazy from lack of food). I still find it hard to not snack all throughout the day, after meals, late at night bc I have a fear of getting hungry. Sounds stupid. Now I have probably regained most of the weight I lost initially, around 33pounds, even while still exercising like mad and eating healthily. Im now seeing a dietition who is telling me to eat more carbs (YES AT NIGHT) otherwise your body wont beable to turn the food you eat into energy and will just store it as fat, as my body has been doing (bc i exercise everyday and am active). I also now suffer from terrible bloating and I look like Im pregnant!! So my advice is to definately up those calories..gradually.. eat a good breakfast, morning tea, lunch, arvo tea and dinner.. sometimes an after dinner snack if you need to.. but make sure you are eating all of this, even if u dont feel like it. I too struggle sometimes to get through certain meals but know I have to eat it otherwise it will lead to a binge later on.. and dont forget to treat yourself once a week.. being too strict will only bite you in the ass.. like it has done for me.
Goodluck!!!!!!!! I know how it feels.. im now struggling with having to relose so much weight.. let me know how you go!

That's so good hear that you're focused on how you feel and not on a number! I wish I could have been as senisible as that when I was at my goal weight. I think 110pounds would be a really good weight for someone your height. Im about 5ft and weighed about 100pounds at my lowest. I then tried to lose more weight but now instead have ended up putting on about 20 pounds or so bc I put my body into starvation mode by not eating enough (around 1150 calories) and being very active. Now I struggle with binge eating and my body is gaining weight rapidly and Im also bloated like nothing else (I look pregnant) due to increasing the amount of carbs I eat (not eating carbs will force your body to store energy as fat as you dont have the energy to convert the food to burn). I now am stuck at this stage until my body can readjust!
I have been really pleasantly surprised by this thread and commend all of you who are being so realisitc and healthy in your attemps to lose weight!! Keeping your calories at a decent level is reaaally important, as I have found out the hard way.. it leads to you having enough energy to exercise, be active and also keep a steady chemical balance in the brain that will ensure you dont have massive cravings etc!!
If anyone else has gone through/is going through what I am going through (weight loss then rapid weight gain) I would love to hear how you got through it and how you managed to relose the weight without reverting back to past methods???
Goodluck everyone!!
hey everyone! just got back from vacation... and gained 2 pounds after I had lost 3. but, I anticipated doing that, so now I just have to get myself back on track. easier said than done.
I'm glad your trying to really up you calories! I wish you lots of luck. I weighed in this morning 123.5. In 3 and a 1/2 weeks ive lost 2.5 pounds which seems a little slow:(. x
monday weigh in:
down to 112.6, from 113 this time last week.
not great, but i did have kind of an off day yesterday so it's understandable. oh well.
p.s. who else is really motivated by the olypics? i want to be in as great shape as those athletes!
Hey girls, keep up the great work!! Which is more than I can say for myself who gained .7 of a lb this weekend, but I guess thats what you get for enjoying yourself too much on the weekend. I also started upping my calories a bit this week to 1200 or more....that could probably been contributing, right??
I noticed though now that I'm eating throughout the day I dont craave bad stuff late at night, thaaaank goodness!! Haha. I have a whole grain cookie in the morning then go about my life as a normal person, most of the time. :) Good luck y'all!

woot! 4 lbs to go! but i'm splurging tonight :/ i did plan it out though so as long as i can restrain myself to what i planned for i'll still be in my calorie budget.
wow what a great forum!!
I'm 19 years old, 5'1 and weighing in at 127 after my first year of university (yikes!) gained a DEFINITE freshman 15! My biggest issue is belly fat (i think its the alcohol.. woops!) To tone, i definitely reccommend pilates, before school i did regular pilates and i was in great shape.. now not so much.
im hoping to lose at least 4 before september and im thinking "weighing in" will really help motivate! :)
just wondering, whats everyones workout schedule like? are you all exercising a lot or are you concentrating mostly on calories? just looking for tips :)

I actually only do like 15 min of cardio a day along with a few core exercises. i mainly focus on calories which is really what is helping me. i could probably lose weight faster if i did cardio for longer periods of time (i've lost 6 pounds in a month) but i'm so burnt out on exercise that i particularly don't much care. plus, i read an article that said exercise helps with weight loss but only really makes a big difference in the maintenance stage.
