petite girls wanting to lose 10-15 pounds!
I just joined this site in hopes of losing 12 pounds. I have gained about 10 in the past year (poor college kid) and would like to lose them. I am very short and even a little bit of weight gain shows on me, so I need to stop it now! I need supporters! be my friend!
I am 5 ft tall, 106-108 pounds, stubborn belly fat :-P and my goal weight is 95 pounds. and advice from anyone?

I'm pretty new to this site, and just decided to browse through the forums tonight for the first time. I decided I think it's really important to have support, which I am really lacking right now. I'm 17 and I live with two lazy parents and a lazy brother... No one likes to cook! So, in the past, we have gotten take out or eaten out, and I have always been one to eat so much even if I'm not hungry. I never really noticed that all this eating was causing me to gain weight until this summer.
I am 5'2" and I weigh about 104.5 right now. At the beginning of the summer, I was about 109.8. (I gained about 8 pounds in the week right before then...eek!). So I decided it was time to change and I've been trying so hard to stick with my plan (which I've been pretty successful with so far... surprising because I have never been able to keep something up for more than 2 weeks before.)
So, I thought this weekly weigh-in could definitely help me out because my family does not motivate me (rather they do exactly the opposite) and my friends are the same way and I really need some support! Thanks!

question for all of you: how many calories do you try to have in a day?
i'm 21 years old and 5', ALMOST 5'1" on a "tall" day and I set my calculator on sedentary, because right now I'm working at an office all day (only 2 more days though!), and then I just add in my physical activity, like the 30 min walk i take during lunch, and my workouts after work (i usually go for a run/walk around my neighborhood for 45 minutes, but sometimes i'll take an aerobics or spinning class for an hour). CC tells me i should be having 1200 calories a day, but i'll usually have a little more if i work out that day. is it really important to get up to exactly 1200 in order for my body to not go into "starvation" mode? i'm really not looking to have less at 1200, i'm not about starving myself by any means, it just seems like sometimes i'm eating at night just for the sake of getting to the magic 1200 number, which obviously seems kind of counter-productive to be eating more to lose weight? any thoughts would be appreciated :-)

I agree, sometimes I'm pretty full at night and I still haven't reached my calorie goal. I don't think it's a big deal if you're a little bit under 1200 sometimes--I don't think that will make your body go into starvation mode, especially because we are so short so I don't think a little under will hurt. It seems that when I do keep eating to reach my calorie goal even if I am full, that I do actually gain a little weight. So I think it's more important to eat until you're full (assuming that's under 1200 cal) rather than eating past when you are full to reach 1200.
Be careful, because I'm pretty sure it is big deal if you are active (or if you want to be active)
I just joined today and we're on the same boat, well I'm perhaps not quite so petite, hight wise. I'm 17, 5'6", 127 lbs. I'd like to get to 120 to get rid of my slightly pudgier than desired ;) stomach but I'm having a hell of a time!

i havent been to the gym or counted calories since the beginning of August...
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. im too scared to check my weight now!
all these back-to-school/end-of-summer/beginning-of-hig h-school parties, and my sister's birthday, and hanging out with friends after everyones back from vacation.. stressing about school starting in 15 days. has got me seriously got me distracted.

starbunny, don't beat yourself up over it. Seriously, the best thing you can do is to just try and get back on track. Keep your goal in mind and remember you need a method for reaching it! iIt's not going to help you to hate on yourself for how you've messed up. Remember, EVERYONE has slip-ups (myself strongly included) and clearly you've had several distractions, so don't blame yourself. You can do it!

Yeeeh, I get that as well. Apparently it shows particularly in my face when I gain weight. It's very irritating. I hate it when I've eaten too much during a day, and by the end of the day, it's sooo noticeable that I've put on a bit! I also need friends. I have none at the moment, it's really sad lol. I only joined yesterday, but I don't get how to add people and stuff. Can someone help me out please? I'm a bit lost. xxx
I'm the same as you Emily! If I eat low cal stuff (even lots of it!) I do find it hard to reach 1200 cals. But then if I have a chocolate bar its far to easy to go over hehe. Welcome Katharine!

im 5'2ish, im a vegetarian and am currently making the switch to vegan. I'm also trying to stay away from carbs not completely but definatly cut down, trying to switch everything to whole grain. I would like to meet some friends who are going through similar situations or would just like support.
my problem area is my stomach. i used to exercise like crazy & eat very healthy but ive really gotten lazy this summer so i am trying to get things back to normal. anyone else feeling like this?
heyyy guyss ! i just started on thisi site today when i shouldve started a LONG time ago. i'm 5'4"and im a jun10r =) freshman and sophomore year were my best body days but now my butt and thighs and stomach got bigger , i cant even fit into my cheering skirt =( i need to lose weight fast. i estimate that im like 130 pounds but i iused to be 110. ever since my boyfriend & i started datiing i feel like i gained SOOO much weight in just 6 months. now school is starting on sept. 2 and i none of my jeans fit like they used too !! be my friendd pleasee i need maaajor supportt !! =)

Um...Where do I start....Im 5'2" and I weigh around 106 pounds. My goal is to get down to the 90s. I guess I have a lot of problems since I am asian and as some of you may know, those asians in asia are super skinny. To be honest Im not used to weighing so much because I used to be really skilly (Like 70 pounds in 7th grade skinny) so I really want to lose weight. And my guy friends have this thing of picking up girls so it kind of bothers me. ^^;;
Im going to be a high school senior and I want to look good for my first day.
I screwed up pretty bad today while hanging out, so Im going to start fresh tomorrow....er ...today

42kg is 92lbs. Honestly, man, that's way too low. You don't need to lose any more.
Maybe you should be maintaining and trying to gain muscle tone instead.
hello i just joined this today.
Im 5' 3" and about 135-137 lbs. This site says that i should maintain my weight but i really want to be a little thinner/ toned. my goal weight is 122-127. I currently eat healthy but am a sucker for junk food. i have to fight myself not to eat it. i exercise maybe twice a week and play softball. even if i really try it's difficult to even go down a lb. i get frustrated. I'm going to keep my calorie count to see if that helps a little. Im a little muscular and pretty strong, i like my body maybe i just really need to get toned that's all. i like having curves and my Boyfriend liks it too. i have a question, my metabolism is slow, do you guys think that taking fiber choice pills is bad to assist me with my digestion? I eat brown rice, wheat bread, lettuce, vegetables, and fruit does anyone have anyy suggestions for me?

i used to be 115. and im trying to get down to 100 and i'll be good. maybe 95 like before but for now, 100.
any ideas for excercise? i was captain of the varsity tennis team this year but our seasons over and i don't plan on picking up a racket for college..
as for eating, i just don't count calories anymore. i just eat whatever i want and stop when im full. sounds crazy, but ive already lost 9 pounds!

heyy i'm 5'3, 140 lbs and soo mad. I was always 115, then I got a job at a fast food restaurant, along with a bad breakup = a whole lot of weight gain. well i'm 5'3.5" and about 106 lbs. i always weighed 98-100ish, until a few months ago, then i quit smoking and went up to 115 lbs. my goal is to weigh 102 and stay that way forever!
i dont know what i was thinking weighing 98 lbs. looking at myself at 106 now, i cant imagine how i could be 8 lbs lighter and not look ridiculous. so my goal is just to lose 4 lbs. 102 is my perfect weight.
