I used to have 23 guinea pigs, along with other ranom critters but they croaked. :D

Right now I have a step-dog and a step-cat that I don't really care for.  Neither are potty trained, and the dog, Coco, can't seem to grasp the concept of my side of the bed.  The cat, Raven, doesn't bother me as much.  She's not always in my face when I have food or a drink, she's not constantly trying to jump on the bed when she's wet after being walked in the rain, and she doesn't eat the zippers off my corsets.  She does, though, like the dog, pee on the carpet.  This is why we keep her locked in the kitchen via baby gate.

Other than those two, I have my hampster, which I brought into the family.  His name is Akuma and he's a little golden hampster.  Nothing else interesting about him.

And after getting together with Alex we got a guinea pig, named Sorbet because we play way too much FFXII and I thought the moogles were adorable.

And finally, we have two kitties.  Whiskey and Vodka.  Abandoned barn kitties that were barely surviving when we got them because they were so young and malnourished.  Vodka felt the need to use my face as a spring board this morning while I was sleeping and she was playing tag with Whiskey.  I was not a happy girl.

Edit: fixed typoes.. because that's all I do with my life..  Ugh.

I have 5 cats - Applesauce, Pumpkin, Soprano, Squirt, and Peanut (Notice 3 of them are named after food?)  Love my kitties!

3 dogs - Sammy who's a golden retriever/akita mix, Junior who's a boxer/pit bull, and Charms who's a jackrat.  I don't particularly like the dogs.

And to top things off, we live in a teeny-tiny house.  Loads of fun.

OMG! I absolutely love pugs. We used to have one but she got lost :[. it broke my heart. Pugs are the absolute best dogs in the world.

I have two dogs. One is a terrior mix, girl, and shes like 13 years old.

The other is a border collie mix, boy, and hes 10 years old.

I'm such an animal lover!

I have two dogs.  Kiowa is a 20 month old Australian Shepard Akita mix.  Bandit is 5 years old and he's a Rottweiler Shepard Chow mix.  Both are pound puppies and they're soooooo loyal.  I love them.  I have two bearded dragons, Savage and Miguelito, and two fire-belly toads, Richard and Augy.  Oh, and a cat named Jazz, but she only comes inside to sleep in the winter.  She's more of an ally cat that just eats at my house and then leaves.

Isn't Squirt a soda flavour?

Yeah, but my son named him because he was sooo tiny.  Now he's the biggest one of the bunch so the name doesn't really fit anymore.  I think I'll just start telling people he was named after the soda.

I have a 4 year old Australian Shepherd (mix maybe) female.  She's really bossy and likes to chase rabbits.  We used to live in the country and everytime the cows or goats got out she chased them back in.  She would make an excellent herding dog.  She'd also make an awesome agility or flyball dog but she is fairly dog aggressive (actually she's just really bossy) so we can't do sports that involve other pooches.  People are amazed at how fast she is.  She could give any greyhound a run for it's money.  Right now she's chewing on a big hunk of raw lamb and she's very happy about it.  She's a total daddy's girl.

ooh ooh ooh!!! first of all you must view the pics in my gallery :)

My "frst born" and most precious furbaby is Kona Bear. She is a lab mix (most likely sharpee and lab - you can see both if you look at her - lotsa extra skin). She is almost 9 years old and is 70-75 lbs. She is on weight management food which she HATES. She wakes me up to eat but she can hold her pee and poop for hours upon hours and hours. I live in a condo without a yard. If it's raining she won't go potty. She is a major primadonna (like her mommy) and she is barrel-chested (like her mommy). She was adopted as a puppy from the Town Lake Animal Shelter in Austin. My brother's friend has her brother, Maverick. She had cancer a couple of years ago; a tumor on her nose. As a precaution we had a few other tumors removed also because they couldn't rule out cancer. Since then she has been fine (fingers crossed and prayers said). She's also broken her tail, and pulled out one of her nails by jumping up on me and getting a nail caught in my purse (yes - they were clipped - of course). She is the most expensive mutt on the planet, and she is worth EVERY PENNY and then some.

I am totally in love with my dog Kona Bear, in case you couldn't tell ;)

My two newest kids are twin boy kitties: Chesster Cheetah and Miss Cleo. They are fraternal twins, not identical hee hee!! They were born in late May 2007 and I adopted them after they'd been neutered when they were ~12 weeks old. Their mom was a pregnant stray cat who was adopted by this informal cat rescue lady in Dallas. They are HUGE boys - Chesster is about 11 lbs of pure muscle. Miss Cleo, who was the runt of his litter, is a pot-bellied 9 lbs or so. Miss Cleo still tries to nurse and so unfortunately I can't let the boys sleep in my bedroom. It hurts now that Miss Cleo is so big. I'm trying hard not to let Miss Cleo get too fat but it's hard because we have three cats total and they all have different eating patterns. I just recently put the kitty boys on weight management food, too. Chesster is the micheivous one. He gets this gutteral meow/growl/meep thing and that's when I know he is about to do something totally terrible. Now that they are 8 months old or so they've calmed down quite a bit. They even leave my plants alone about 80% of the time. Truly a miracle.

And my roommate has a cat named Squirt. He is 3 years old and he is teeny tiny (about 8 lbs). Chesster and Squirt are best friends / lovers. Yeah they are all boys, but we live in a loving and tolerant home and are hoping maybe Chesster and Squirt get married. hee hee

I love animals!!! I am most definitely more of a dog person than a cat person. But I think my cats have picked up on that b/c they don't act like cats at all. All three of them have more dog-like personalities and are very friendly, everyone that comes over always says how cool our cats are.

Well, sorry for the dissertation.... but you asked for details! I love reading about people's pets!!!

Only have 2 cats at the moment, Ringo a black and white long hair and Alomar a polydactyl (2 extra toes on all 4 paws) orange tabby.

I used to be really into the fish hobby, I probably had like 7 tanks going at the most. I kept mostly large fish (biggest was 14" irridescent shark[not a real shark], and 12" red snakehead[which are now illegal :(], and oddball/exotics such as tiger datnoids, and 3 species of polypterus (awesome fish, they look like something prehistoric).

My last pet rats have passed on, starting to think of getting more again :P...I've had rats since I was 7yrs old, I think the most I had was 60+ when I decided to let them all mate :-s (baby rats are so fricken cute). I hope more people realize how good pets they are, instead of thinking they're gross.

I've had 3 dogs, one was a puppy we bought (white German Shepherd named Chelsey), and the other 2 were dogs we adopted from families getting rid of them (Simba, retriever border collie looking dog, and Jasper, black hound mix)...unfortunately the last 2 had some problems and mom got rid of them and Chelsey was given to a guy on a farm when my parents divorced :(

I've also had a ferret (want one again!), mice, gerbils, turtles and birds...lots of pets :P

Amy, my cats are like dogs too. They greet me at the door, come when they're called and love attention. They are not standoffish or finicky. I think it's all in how you raise them and treat them. They still do cat stuff like chase a string or bat at ornaments but two of the three are harness trained and one will even pick up his harness in his teeth and bring it to me so he can go outside and another one loves to play fetch!

Train them young and they can be great pets for years and years.
I have a Lucy, and she is all I could ever want :D

Just one pet - my big orange tabby, 15 year old, 18 pound, Bubba.  His picture is in my profile.

Bubba came to live with me when he was four because his owner was sick and couldn't care for him.  She had had him declawed, which is cruel.  I think it made him timid and distrustful, but he's making progress.  She may have owned him, but he owns me now, and he's the boss of me.

It took him 5 years before he ever climbed into my lap, and just this past summer he learned to cuddle.  He gently crawls up my chest when I'm in my recliner and buries his head in my neck, and gives me kisses on the chin.  I am now able to gather him up in my arms and hold him like a baby.

I never had a cat like him.  He comes to tell me when he has used the litter box and it gets noisy until I scoop.  He is an Arm & Hammer Super Scoop man and will not set paw in anything else.  Nothing is permitted on his windowsills.  Dinner is at 7 pm, sharp and he will eat nothing but dry kibble, either Max Cat or Friskies, but only certain flavors of Friskies.  Water must be served in a large tumbler, not a bowl.  He never, ever begs at the table and has never hopped up on the counters, except the vanity in the bathroom.  He like to sit in the bathroom sink, and likes to yowl in the shower stall.  Aside from that silliness, he's a dignified old bachelor!

I'm loving reading about your pets!

Purespark!  Sedona has the same bunny!  She loves it.  Sadly the plastic bag detached from the noise maker so we have to blow in the rabbit's belly to make the noise.  It's her favorite toy.  She likes to kill it (you know, the death shake).  I think she likes it because it looks so much like an actual rabbit.

Jealous of that tank :P, always wanted a panther grouper and the snowflake moray, but never got into saltwater and wasn't allowed a tank that size.

Forgot to mention I've had a couple rabbits too, never had a guinea pig but I love the little noises they make :D

I have a australian cattle dog named ginger. she moves a hundred miles an hour all day. I think she is on crack.  chases anything, will eat  socks if I don't keep an eye on her and has a bark that is like nails on a blackboard. but she is fun and offers loads of entertainment value.

in my usual epic novel-like fashion...

Right now I have my 5 year old long-haired black cat which I mostly call Arys, though he has dozens of ridiculous nick names! I adopted him when he was 8 months old and without a name from a group called Last Chance, who rescues abandoned cats and also retrieves cats from local shelters before they are to be euthanized. He is a totally spoiled lap kitty, the sweetest ever, extremely well-behaved, too handsome for words, and I don't know what I would do without him!

My roommates have a nightmare of a puppy who is now approaching 6 months old. They brought him home when he was 6 weeks old and didn't have all the time that they needed for him, so I wound up taking care of him almost as much as they did. They named him Rasputin, he is a large solid grey short-haired mix of 1/2 pit bull, 1/4 chow-chow, 1/4 german shepherd with grey eyes and a blue tongue. He is gorgeous, but crazy and a pain in my ass! We have been getting along better lately, though, now that he is more successfully heeding to commands and calming down a bit.

I had a beautiful Jack Russell "Terror" [though he was extremely smart and well-behaved, not out-of-control and hyperactive like most seem to be these days], of the short-legged, smooth coat variety named Rusty. We got him when I was 9, he was 3 months old. He was "put to sleep" at the age of 14, with an enlarged prostate, spinal arthritis, and bad cataracts. He just wasn't his old self and seemed sad all of the time, so it seemed like the compassionate thing to do. He is buried on my family's farm in Kentucky with a home-made headstone :') I still miss him terribly :'(

I also briefly had the joy of the companionship of a bear-like Rottweiler named Skylar, she was a shelter dog. I took her out of town with me for an extended weekend trip, and to make a long story short, she accidentally got loose from my host's house and was literally run over by a large pick-up truck. She wasn't struck by it, the truck was tall enough to clear her, but she got spooked and ran faster than I have ever seen a dog run! I put up posters and flyers all over town, stayed for some additional days to find her, called every vet and shelter in town... nothing. She was wearing her thick leather collar with tags and had even been micro chipped. I received one call from a sketchy-sounding lady who wanted a cash reward [which I offered on the fliers for her safe return], but she wouldn't give me an exact location to meet her, just a large park. I went to look for her immediately, and asked everyone I saw when I arrived, but nobody knew what I was talking about. She was a sweetheart and so much fun, I hope for her sake that somebody found her and liked her too much to give her back, and that she was happy and treated well. I wasn't in the best position to have a dog at the time, anyway. I learned a few things from the experience.

More previous childhood pets include: multiple fish [i always bawled when they died!], a box turtle my dad found closed up in his shell in the middle of the road, mini-lop rabbit named BunBun, a black teddy bear hamster named Buttercup.
