Does Phase 2 starch blocker affect dietary fiber?

If I take Phase 2 along with a high fiber cereal or a fiber supplement, will it bind to the fiber instead of carbohydrates?
Answer
Phase2® Carb Controller does not affect fiber. Phase2® inhibits the digestive enzyme, alpha-amylase, which is responsible for the digestion of dietary starch. Alpha-amylase specifically breaks up long chain starches, but it does not work on dietary fiber or simple sugars. Researchers believe that Phase2® Carb Controller inactivates alpha-amylase to permit starches to pass through the intestines with less caloric absorption.
