Any phobias?
Clowns
Mascots (Anyone dressed up in a costume that covers your face ie. Mickey Mouse)
Midgets/Little people
Heights
Bridges
Needles
Snakes
I have a totally weird one: Hotels.
Every time I step into one of those rooms, I feel like I'm suffocating. I feel like every surface is covered with some kind of mutated germ that will fester all over me. Can't walk barefoot. Before I go near them, I have to check the sheets to make sure there are not any weird stains. Also have to ALWAYS bring my own pillow case b/c I don't want my head anywhere near a hotel pillow case. (lol...I'm not kidding)
The worst is the air. The smell is the same in every hotel - a stale, thick, clorox-ish smell. I have a hard time breathing properly. Obviously, it's all in my head. And I have no idea how the phobia developed in the first place.
Needless to say though, I rarely get any sleep when I need to stay in a hotel room. ::shudder::
Example? I have a panic attack if I leave the house later than 7, and school doesn't start until 7:50. It only takes me 5-10 minutes to get to school...=\
Spiders, and bees too...Actually basically any bug/thing that can fly at you. And needles, I nearly pass out getting my blood taken =P
EDIT: skinnyogi reminded me that I'm deathly afraid of getting lost too!
Spiders. I'm terribly allergic to them and FREAK if they're anywhere near me.
I'm also afraid of getting lost. I take the train to work and every so often I am convinced that I will get off at the wrong stop and end up lost forever, with no hope of getting home.
I'm also petrified of walking into a dark apartment - I have to leave a light on if I know I won't get home until after sunset, but that's probably fairly normal.
Muffled noises... When I can kinda hear the people under my apartment talking, but not make out what they are saying it gives me the same feeling as chewing yarn. I have to turn on some loud music or something to get rid of it.
edit:
Oh and breathing in air other people have just exhaled. Like, I can't face my boyfriend at night when we are sleeping, and I have to be at least 3 feet away from people who I'm talking to. I feel like I can't get enough oxygen. Totally illogical.. I know.
Definatley my top two phobias:
Robbers- I live in a small town, not much crime, and I couldn't imagine getting robbed or anything to that effect.
Tornados - I hide when there is bad weather that could potentially produce a tornado!
My biggest fear is of spiders, then creepy crawly bugs in general. Cockroaches are the grossest!! I love it when a lizard finds its way into my house cause I know those insects are done in!!
I also don't care for clowns and mascots and costumed people.
bobbie-pins ![]()
Just the thought of accidently poking myself in the scalp with a bobbie-pin scares me!
other people's barefeet
abandonment (if that is one?)
ANY kind of bug
knee caps
This is strange, because when I was in elementary school, we'd go to camp, and one of the highlights of the entire time was the "midnight" walk to the graveyard, in the forest. We'd wander around the graves and stuff. Now, even driving PAST a graveyard is difficult. It has something to do with the "uncleanliness" I associate with it, I guess. Dead things. UCK.
Luckily, I've managed to get out of every funeral I would have had to go to-- either I had to work that day and couldn't get it off, or I was off at school, etc. I can't imagine what I'll do when I have to actually go. Oh geez.
i've also recently realized that my irrational fear of straight razors can be traced to my mom (always blame the mom) taking me to see sweeney todd on stage when i was 8. so, thank you tim burton for helping me to understand.
and once again, balloons. {shudder}

Good to know I'm not the only one. But that's about it as far as fear, I'm pretty fearless. I may be a mild adrenaline junky, I love roller coasters.
In summary, anything with more than 4 legs or anything with no legs. Snakes are fine (for some reason), but worms, slugs, leeches, caterpillars, snails, milli/centipedes, crickets, spiders, jellyfish, mosquitoes, wasps, etc etc etc. No, I am not fond of butterflies unless they are at least 3 feet away and not coming towards me.
I really really cannot stand the slimy stuff - the worms/slugs/leeches/snails category. My blood literally turns cold and I FREEZE on the spot.
