put some pics up on my profile of myself since dieting...I dont see any difference :( Makes me depressed just looking at them!
it looks to me like there's a difference! and wow, 32 lbs is a lot! you are doing just great. don't get discouraged--after all, it does take time, and lots of patience. you might hit some tough spots along the way, but that's okay, there are lots of people here who can help you through them!!!
Are you kidding? I see a huge difference. If you don't mind me saying so, I think that it is most noticeable in your arms and stomach. Congrats on the 30 pound drop!
You can't let yourself get down just because the photos don't look that much different to you. The numbers on the scale are moving in the right direction. I don't know what your goal weight it, but I imagine that you will see more of a difference in the next 30 pounds, mostly because 30 pounds is only 10% of 300, but 30 pounds is about 12% of 270, and then 30 pounds is 13% of 240. I mean, 90 pounds (granted, I know that is a long ways away) is 30% of your body starting body weight. Believe me, if you continue along this path, you will certainly see a difference, but you are your hardest critic, and as you drop in weight, you will notice more of a difference in each pound.
Don't give up!!!!
I see a big difference. I feel the same way looking at my pictures. But there is a difference! It's hard for us to objectively look at ourselves sometimes. Keep up the good work!
Aww, you look absolutely great! and congrats on losing so much alrdy! :)
And you're pretty! I love your hair and there is a serious difference in your photos - You look awesome and you lost 32 pounds! Way to go! Yeah, I get down on myself too - your post made me feel less bad about those times - I'm not alone.
I think you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. I can see a difference in your picture also. As someone who has a similar amount of weight to loose as you do, I know the road can be so tough. I have lost 19 pounds in 2 months, but I still find myself disapointed at times. So then, I just go out for a walk or do something else nice for myself until the negative thoughts disappear. Ask yourself a question: Do you feel better now, 30 pounds lighter or did you feel better before. I know I feel better, and I don't want to go back. Good luck!
Go to the grocery store, pick up three 10-pound bags of potatoes, and carry those around the store for 10 minutes. Bet you'll be glad to put those bags of spuds down once the 10 minutes is up! I guarantee you'll feel better about your progress after that!
Wow!!! Look at you... You're doing AWESOME!
Honestly, I look at myself in the mirror, and I can't tell I've lost an ounce. But everyone is exclaiming about how much I've lost.
Don't let it get to you. Just keep working, you are doing SOOOO well!
i also see the difference! just keep going because you are doing great and should be really pround of yourself. because you are a higher weight the first 30 pounds maybe isn't making an enormous difference in how your clothes fit and how YOU see you yourself, but it is making a difference. as the next 20 comes off i bet you really start to see it and do a happy dance!
i see the difference :) you look great!!!
good job! your doing awsome!
Oh my....You look great and there is a noticeable difference. Don't get discouraged! We're here to encourage you!! Way to go with the weight loss.
There's a GREAT difference! You've done a fantastic job! You have lost a lot width-wise! I am so super impressed! You look GREAT!
Please don't get discouraged... you are doing so well and you have come so far! You should be proud! You look fantastic!
I'm going to be frank, but that's the kind of thinking that will cause you to give up your good habits, binge, eat more, skip workouts, and ultimately fail.
If you think enough times that you won't be able to lose weight, your subconscious will say "Oh, I can't lose weight", so you'll stop trying eventually, you'll have no motivation.
You have to think positive. Imagine if you had those 30 lbs back on. You're glad you've lost them, right? Think of how you'll look when you've lost more weight. Tell yourself you can do it.
I see a big difference! You need to look more closely! And it isn't all about the numbers and looks, how do you feel? I have lost 42 lbs, and I have around 40 left to go, and some days I still feel like I'm huge. But I feel so much better than I used to already! When I'm feeling gigantic, I remind myself about all the things that have improved because I'm eating healthy and exercising. And I take a good look at my pictures, and I make myself see that there is a difference!
Wow, I can see such a huge difference that I have a hard time believing that you have only lost 32 pounds. Keep doing whatever you are doing, it's working and I'm sure soon you'll be able to see the proof in the mirror:)
i can totally see the difference too!
And you're doing awwwesome!!! Keep it up! =D
I think you are doing great!!! Those pictures look like PROOF to me!!
And you have great hair... maybe we can't be friends, because I'm totally jealous. LOL
Have you ever read the paper towel theory???
(This is from the Body for Life diet.)
Let?s assume you go out and buy two rolls of paper towels, each with only 84 paper towels on it (one for each day of the challenge). You put one aside, and keep it for future reference (your ?before? picture). The other one represents you (I?ll call your paper towel you ?Ed?). The core represents the lean Ed. The towels represent the fat that is covering the lean Ed. For sake of argument, let?s say that Ed wants to lose 21 pounds of fat, so (84/21) each sheet represents a quarter-pound of fat lost. Let?s also assume that Ed loses his fat equally during each day of the diet.
Each day during the first week, you tear a sheet off of Ed, representing the fat he has lost for the day. Next, you put Ed next to the full roll (?Big Al?) for comparison. No noticeable difference!!! Even at the end of the week! This can?t be working for me!
But, being a good Ed, you continue. At the end of weeks two and three, you continue to compare Ed to Big Al, and still notice very little difference.
But Ed is determined! He works hard! Three more weeks go by, the sheets peeling off day after day, before Ed gets up the courage to stand next to Big Al again. Wow! Ed is skinny! OK, not skinny, but less huge!!!
By the end of the 12-week program, Ed is down to his lean dream, or somewhere near it. Ed is happy. We are happy. Big Al ? well he?s not so happy.
The lesson to be learned is that fat, like paper towels, comes off in sheets. When you are heavy, you are big around. And when you are big around, that fat is spread over a MUCH larger area ? just like that outside towel sheet. The closer you get to the lean you, the more each lost pound of fat shows, because it is spread over a smaller area.
While the outside sheet may only cover 1 layer of the roll, the inside sheet may go around 4 times. That last sheet looks like it gives you 4 times the results of the first sheet, but in reality, the results are the same ? your perception is just different! And you?ll never see the inside, if you aren?t patient while the outside is coming off!
I definitely see a difference! You look great! 30lbs is a HUGE accomplishment! Think of how much you've done, and think of how you would feel if you'd wasted all this time staying at the same weight or getting fatter instead of working that 30lbs off. It takes time to get fat and getting fat is EASY! It's hard to lose it slowly, but I firmly believe that we need the long journey so we have enough time to learn how to live the rest of our lives without falling back on our old ways. Healthy eating and self-denial have to become a part of our lives or we'll just go back to being fat. I know it's a long road but you're really doing a wonderful job. Sadly, a lot of people who reach your starting weight just give up and resign themselves to being fat and unhealthy forever. Losing 30lbs has no doubt improved your health. Hang in there, you can do it! You ARE doing it!
You are doing so well - do not get discouraged. One thing you might want to do, and believe me you will be glad you did down the road, is take your measurements. That way, the next time you feel stuck you can re-meausre yourself and actually see some terrific progress. Numbers don't lie. It will make you feel good to see the difference in inches :)
Thank you so much everyone! You guys help so much! Its crazy i would never tell anyone my weight and here I am telling you guys my weight and everything lol
