What do you pick?

So you are at night school the weather is really bad, blizzards, low visibility, your car is stuck in the car park, you can't get a taxi for love nor money, you have tried all possible options but there is nothing else for it you have to walk home!

The walk along a main street is fine but you reach the point where you have to make a choice of four possible side roads to get to your apartment. Two are close to you and one another just a short distance between, one is 1/2mile away the last is a full two miles away.

Each route has one of the below men with two or three friends with them. The men are in order from the closest to the furthers away

I take the longest route because the man doesn't appear as threatening as the others. The first one looks scary bulky and could kill/rape me easily, the second guy's photo looks like a mug shot and the third guy simply doesn't look friendly. I know the fourth guy could very well turn out to be a pyschopath but it's less likely.

I'm going with #1.  It's raining and I want to get home and no one is going to bully me into taking the long way around... Plus, he's a body builder dude.. probably dedicated and hard working and won't pay this fat girl a bit of attention.. I have a bad vibe about the others anyway.

#1.  It's the shortest route and I can run fast.

I'm going with number 1. Assuming he's got his shirt off like in the pic, he's too busy trying to stay warm than to bother me.

I always take the shortest route unless I don't know it's shortest. People don't usually bother me anyway.

What would bother me more than the people on those paths was if there was sufficient lighting, sufficient pathways, crosswalks, etc.

Can you tell I'm always a pedestrian? =D

I'd take the 2nd route.  You know the first guy has that football player with pads on walk where the thighs are just so big.  Just more scary.  The 2nd route is about the same distance and the guy doesn't look scary to me at all.

Third guy looks less scary. But I don't trust any of them... I'd be on my cell phone or at least pretend I'm talking to someone as I pass by. Y'know... less likely to attack someone talking on a cell... I would hope. T_T;

He and his buds may be all roided out, angry, and rapey but he's a body builder.  They're strong but they're slow.  I'm 6', quick, and squirmy.  They couldn't catch me.  Besides, I always have my dog with me.  No one messes with my blue eyed beast.

I cant pick without the bods of the other three.

I would pick the least muscled. Even regularly sized guys tend to physically intimidate me. Yeah, I have issues but their expression wouldnt be much of a factor.

Regardless of how far away it was, I would probably take the best-lit route.  What the guys look like doesn't matter -- anyone can be dangerous (or not).  Chances are I would not walk anywhere alone and, if I really had no other choice, I would be on my cellphone with someone the entire time such that if something happened, someone would know where I was and could call the police.  Fun safety tip!

I thought there was going to be some kind of an surprise answer.. like #1 is actually a serial rapist and #2 was a serial killer or whatever... ?  No?

Take route one.  That guy is too busy looking at himself in the mirror to notice anyone walking by.

Ditto, route one.  When he's not looking in the mirror, he's shivering because he forgot to bundle up against the blizzard.
