Before/In Between Picture Comparison - 60 Pounds Down

Quote  |  Reply
I am one of those people with a severe self image problem since I have lost the weight, so I decided to make a comparison photo of myself.  I KNOW that I am no longer the size 20 girl, in fact I am in a size 10, but when I look in the mirror I still SEE the girl I was before.  This comparison really helped me.  The picture on the left is at my heaviest (239) and the picture on the right was last week at my lowest yet (169).  I started this journey on November 9th  and I attribute all of my success to this website.  I have always loved looking at everyone's before/in between and after photos, so I thought I would share mine!  Hope this can help inspire someone to keep it up, because I know all of YOUR photos sure did help inspire me.  I still have 30 pounds to go, but I KNOW I can do it! Thanks everyone!!

There were so many reasons that I wanted/needed to change my lifestyle.

  1. I went to the doctor and was prediabetic.
  2. Going to theme parks and having a hard time fitting into rides with my kids.
  3. I have two teenage boys and I know they are getting to the age where this kind of thing is embarrassing to them; they have enough problems at this age that I didn't want them to have a "fat" mom too.
  4. Being told that I was so beautiful that I could be a PLUS sized model (talk about under handed compliment).
  5. My husband is UBER thin and I hate seeing my shadow next to his (Lmao).
  6. Always being the "fat" friend.
Oh there are so many reasons.

When I look back at my pre weight loss pictures, I have a hard time believing I was actually that size, I would not have believed it if I didn't see it ~ even though I KNEW the numbers on the scale and the size clothes I had to buy.  I have always been one to hold head high no matter my size and I actually think I am critiquing my body more now then I did then.

I understand where you're coming from. I only have lost about 20 pounds, out of my goal of 60, and I don't see it at all. Everyone says stuff and all I think is What are you talking about? I look exactly the same!

But, I have to say, congrats. You really do look great. 60 pounds is a lot to lose. It looks like you have a ton of willpower. Just think of it this way. Even if you can't see yourself as someone different, you ARE a modified you. The scale doesn't lie. Even if your self-esteem is still low, know that the health benefits are great. You will live longer, and feel healthier, and the image thing will get there eventually too.

Just stick to your guns. I, myself, can only HOPE and try to get where you've gotten. Great job!

Good Job Steph!! I am so proud of you! Smooches!
