Just saw a picture of myself.....
I normally steer clear of the camera. But someone recently caught me on camera and then decided to send it to me. I nearly cried. How depressing.
Love yourself! Know that you're an incredible person; even try making a list! You're on this website because you're already making a lifestyle change, and that will be reflected in how you look, whether you see it or not. Confidence, and true beauty, come from within.
:)
You're beautiful. Have a nice cup of tea, and watch a great movie, and relax. Love being you!
Don't let it depress you. Take it as motivation to keep going! Also, I think it helps to know that you are probably your worse critic, and other people don't really think what you think about the picture since they have a pretty good idea of what you look like anyways.
But keep going! ![]()
If you dont like what you see, then that should provide you motivation to work toward what you do want to look like. Take responsibility for the fact that for one reason or another, you had been making bad choices that lead to you looking the way that you do.. As vron said, youre on this website because you know that you need to change.
That was your magic moment! Be glad you saw that picture. I saw one of me and I douldn't believe there was that fat person staring at me. I made a copy of it and hung it up right next to the mirror where I dress at. I also carry that picture in my billfold right next to the credit card as a reminder to me; am I paying for food, or paying for fat?
Please don't get upset...firstly i agree with vron082. You have to love and appreciate your beautiful self FIRST and FOREMOST before you change it. Beauty comes in all different shapes and sizes, and I agree with vron082 start making a list of things you admire and like about yourself, both physical and personality-wise. DO NOT GIVE UP, and please don't get depressed. The number of times I've gotten upset over awful pics is ridiculous!
Use this as a positive thing, and forget that pic, instead imagine yourself looking how you'd like to look, keep focused on that and it'll help you!
mommakitty-maybe your idea works for some people, but i know it would just depress and de-motivate me if i carried a not so flattering pic around with me, instead i stuck a headless body of a girl in a bikini next to the mirror, and I affirm that I have that body everyday...it's something which I aim for.
for a lot of people includign myself, seeing a picture of themselves can be what it takes to really get that motivation to lose the weight. I guess we dont' realize how we look until we see it from another view. When I saw pics of myself from christmas 2 eyars ago, i was soooo upset. I couldn't believe I let myself get to that point. It got me motivated to start losign the weight b/c I didn't want my graduation pics to look like that. when I graduated, i felt I looked a lot better. Now that I"ve lost even more weight, i think my grad pics look bad too. I found a pic of myself from hwen I was thinner and that stays on my fridge as motivation for what I want to look like again. Use these feelings to your advantage and kick some weight loss butt!
that sucks. it is has happen to me often and recently. I had a fat fat fat weekend. I am back on the wagon, hopefully.
I am so tired having my pants be tight, and my face looks fat too.
good luck all.
I know exactly what you mean. Every time I see a picture of myself, I mentally groan. "I didn't realize I look that bad!"
