A picture is worth a thousand words... so I need all the help I can get!

Hi all,

I'm not sure what the right forum for this post would be, so I apologize if it's not quite fitting.

I've never had professional photographs of this calibre taken before, and have a shoot coming up in just under two weeks (it's part of a gift to myself, and part gift for my partner). I want to look my absolute best for these, and will have little more than what a bikini and/or lingerie would cover (for the record, this is completely out of my character...but I chose to do it for very personal reasons).

Preparing for the shoot, I obviously want to reduce bloat, so I'm going to try hard not to consume too many sugars, keep really hydrated, avoid caffeine and alcohol, get more fresh fruit and fibre,  etc. Beyond these things, does anyone have any advice they'd be willing to share?

I've heard that it's best to also incorporate heavy weights into routine for maximum results.... I think I'm just nervous.... and would love to hear any word of wisdom! Is there anything I can start doing now (with less than 2 weeks to go) what will do me any good?

Thanks!

Yes there is!

Dont stress about it! Thinking too much gives you wrinkles :D

1. Drink loads of water - will help hydrate your skin, so it looks fresh and clean, and will help reduce any bloating.

2. I think all you might acheive in 2 weeks of heavy weights is an injury, so probably not a good idea, unless you want to have photos of yourself on crutches and a sling?

3. Cutting down on carbs is a good idea like you said, and alcohol definately.

4. wax

Good luck!

Oh yeah, the waxing/ hair appointments etc are in full effect. The one thing I'm a bit concerned about is that I have a commitment the morning of the shoot to a fundraiser I'm doing that will require me to work out really hard for about three hours (it's a climb for a charity).

Thanks for the reply..!

I think that is good as long as you shower before the photo shoot. Ha! That will get your blood flowing, you will look alive and awake during your shoot, and it will make your muscles look more defined ... Right?

I don't know about heavy weights but I don't see how doing some kind of weight work would be bad - as long as you don't hurt yourself.

Good for you for doing something for yourself that makes you feel sexy!

Heavy weights make you more toned.  Light weights don't really do anything for you.  Don't worry about bulking up - most women can't.  Our hormones are all wrong for it.

I don't know a lot about weights, but I'm learning.  Try asking in the fitness forums.  There are some great people in there who really know what they're talking about.  Amethystgirl, for one.  I took her advice and I'm already seeing improvement in my upper body strength, after only two weeks.
