Can you picture yourself skinny?

Quote  |  Reply
I sure can, and it motivates me!! The picture I have in my head is of me wearing a short skirt (not too short) and a nice sweater with nice heels, in the park, having my picture taken. (because that is my reward to myself when I reach my goal, a photo shoot) My hair is very long, because I've been letting it grow, and it's styled straight! Every time I see this picture in my head it motivates me to keep going! I strongly believe that in order to be successful at anything you have to first believe it and see it in your head! Can you see yourself skinny? What are you wearing? Where are you at? How do you feel? How do you look?

Maybe that's my problem, I can't picture myself skinny.
I can't picture it either.  I can't imagine not feeling love handles on my body either.  :(
Not really, no, but I'm excited to find out what I'll look like at goal!
come on people!! Sure you can!! You just have to believe!! Think real hard now!! Can you see it? YES YOU CAN!! I promise you, once you get that picture in your head, everything will be easier, because you can actually see what you are working towards!
Oh absolutely can picture myself skinny!!!!  I keep seeing myself in the bikini I was wearing 4 years ago... I will get back into it and look wonderful ... I loved bathing suit shopping when I was at my proper weight - picked suits because I liked them...not because they hid the flaws!
Yes, I have pictures of myself when I was a size 8 and gosh darnit I was cute!!!..lol.. Now Im like 13 years older so I will look different but I have a pretty good idea of what I will look like once I hit my goal weight/body type...
yes, because I used to be,not so long ago. But it sure does feel like too long ago.
I definitely can't. I haven't been thin ever in my adult life so I'm not sure what I'll look like.
See, that's what it is then, isn't it?  The people who *were* thin and are getting back to it can picture it.  The rest of us?  Hmm, not so much.  I can find s/o else & picture having their body, but of course I can't just plunk my head on top of it!
Sadly, no I can not. I have been overweight since I was about seven years old. I am affraid when I get to my goal weight that I will not look how I want.

bill (dieting would be so much easier if we could go into the future and take a picture of what we would be like if we stuck with healthy eating)
I also think that's why those of us who weren't skinny before are so hard on ourselves when we slip, etc... and who also don't know if we can get to goal, there's no motivation as far as what we WILL look like, it's just here and now, that's all we have!
bill, yes, dieting would be much easier if we could do that, but since we can't we have to rely on our imagination. I have not been "skinny" since I was about 14 years old and even then I was bigger than most of the girls in my school. Just close your eyes and imagine. It is a huge motivation!
it's sad. i really can't. no matter what, i see myself the same way.
i've lost almost 10 lbs, and since i'm not really big, apparently it's
noticeable to a lot of people, but when people comment on it, i'm just
like, "what? are you crazy?"
I could picture myself, but now that I am "skinny" I imagined myself with more muscles :)
I can't really picture myself because I've been overweight since early childhood. I have a nice, proportionate body and an hourglass figure that's mostly muscle, so I'm pretty confident I'll like my body... but I'm hoping that I will have the same face, just prettier and slimmer!

I don't know if I heard this in a movie, on TV or in a book, but there was this conversation between three women, one of them threw a fit and stormed away and the other two women said something like this:

"Wow, what was that all about?"

"Meh, she's just angry because she lost all that weight and she's still not pretty!"

I don't know what I'd do if I worked that hard and finally got my dream body but then my face looked all weird.
:p
I can't , but I'm working on it.
Hmm... I can and I can't. Like jayd294mp, I have an hourglass figure too and it's mostly muscle, but I've been overweight since I can remember. So it's kinda hard for me to picture myself skinny. But I like to imagine by touching the spots on my body that have extra weight and imagining that that spot of extra weight isn't there anymore. Sometimes I even poke it to see how much space would be gone after I get down to the muscle. So it's kinda 50/50 for me.
I sure can! i dream about it all the time, its my favorite fantasy- to be thin, about 160, in a pair of jeans and a fabulous top, my hair done like one of charlie's angels! getting there seems like will take an eternity, but a girl can dream.
That's what I'm talking about bgc3!
yuppers!  although, I'll admit, it's easy because I used to be skinny, and then was slim and muscular... so I have memories and pictures to rely on. =) I'm going for the slim and muscular again.  I can see myself in a cute little tank top, wearing a pair of brown corduroy pants, which is an outfit that used to fit perfect and look HOT!  I'm working my way toward it... and I WILL get there!
