"Before" and "After" Pictures

Quote  |  Reply
So, I'm back on.. counting calories again. But, this time, I am going to stick with it! Well, I decided to take "before" pictures today, so that I will be able to see my progress... and I was totally disgusted! I mean, I knew I was a big girl - but I didn't think I was that big! So, I was just wondering if you have taken "before" pics, and how often do you take your "in between pictures?" Did you have the same reaction as me after taking your "before"s? I want to take pictures to track my progress, but I don't want to be dissapointed at the same time... Should I take them every 10 lbs, every other week, every month, what do you think? What has worked for you? Do you think that pictures really help? Thanks for the advice!

I think it is a good idea that will be good motivation for you.  I had the same problem with measuring myself, I did not want to do it cause I thought I would be horrified, but I am glad I did now cause I have lost 5 pounds and now I will have something to compare with.

What made you lose focus?
Pictures are sometimes what makes me realize I still have a way to go.  It's that pic of my thigh in the background when my hubby was trying to get a pic of the kids.  Or that picture that shows me how I look like a linebacker from behind - Yikes.

Take them about every two weeks and maybe you'll see a gradual change in the pics.  It'd be a good souvenir at the end.  I am sure you'd see something between 1 and 4 and 1 and 6 weeks.
My grandfather passed away and then I got in a car accident and broke my arm... I am definately an emotional eater, and let those events be excuses... excuses that lasted way longer than they should have. No excuses anymore though! I really feel like I will be successful this time.
I didn't take my before picture until I had already lost 14 pounds, but being as large as I am, I really have to lose alot to notice any difference in the way I look. So I am planning on taking my picture again after I have lost 54 pounds total. 54 pounds instead of 50 pounds, because I will hit the 300 pound mark at that time. I'm anxious to see the difference.
I took before pictures when I started my exercise regime. I'll be taking comparison pictures in 2 more weeks (which will be my 30 days of exercise mark). I expect to see a definite difference.. even though I haven't lost anymore weight. My body is leaner than before, so I'm excited to see the evidence in 2 weeks!
My profile has my before and more current pics.  I lost 160 lbs, but gained some back...still trying to lose more.
OMG Taratri you look GREAT!!!! That's so awesome!
Amen to that-  Tara, you are such an inspiration!  Thanks for posting!
LOVE my before pictures... In my mind... there's no such thing as an "after" picture because it's continuing... I'm into before and "now" pictures!
I know full well what I looked like before I went on this diet. I really would prefer to never see them again. I've been fat my whole life so anytime I want to be reminded what I'm working for, I can just pick up any picture ever taken of me.

Someday I will be cute. Well, as long as I can keep my eyebrows in check and I learn how to put on makeup.. Alright, how about "someday I will not be fat".
