which piercing should i get?

industrial piercing or tragus

i just want to get one. so which can you see me with?

Personally I prefer the tragus, with a ring definitely. Hmm, someone very close to me has both. That industrial took way longer to heal than the tragus. And painfully too as well, lots of swelling at one point. The piercer said it would take 9 months... The tragus was self done.

I see you said you don't like a ring in the tragus. In that case, I would like the industrial better. Just curious what you parents think?

just a head's up...i had my tragus pierced when i was 14 and when i turned 19 i touched it, seriously just touched it, and the earring came out in my hand.  i realized the back was still attached, looked in the mirror and now my tragus is split.  i have no idea why this happened.

edi t: my tragus isn't split as a result of looking in the mirror, hahaha, but still i had it forever, and i loved it, but now i have a permantly split tragus.

I like the tragus because it seems more versatile. You can get a more harsh or punk look with a stud, but you could still look elegant in a dress or professional for an interview with a diamond in.

I just don't think an industrial piercing would look good at anything formal, more or less a job interview. But a tragus works with anything!

Tragus!!

I got mine done a few weeks ago & it wasn't too painful. It was a little uncomfortable I guess but nothing unbearable and I am a total wimp! Oh and I got a stud in mine :)

It think it looks pretty and personally I think the industrial looks a bit scary!

You can easily dress up the industrial - just take out the bar, put a ring in the lower one and a stud in the upper one. I do that all the time.

Wow. That sounds like some freak thing. I've had mine for about 4 years and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
I don't like studs in the tragus much. I have a u-shaped ring in mine.

I vote tragus! I am thinking of getting that done myself. I am not fond of the industrial...although a very select few can pull it off.

I don't think it would be too much to have both, tragus is small, it wouldn't overpower the ear as much as the industrial (plus I like evenness :P). Do you have any other ear piercings?

I'd go with tragus, industrial looks pretty brutal to me - unless thats what your aiming for.

I didn't think tragus was that painful. Got mine done about 2 years ago & remember the pressure of the needle but not it going through, I didn't even hear a 'pop' which I was told I might hear. It was nowhere near the pain I had when I got my nose pierced!

Healed well too. With most my piercings what ever they tell me to leave for healing time ie; 8 weeks, I add on another 4.

From looking at your photo, I'd say a tragus would "suit you" better. 

figurethefat: my parents would get really mad if they found out i had a piercing. but i used to have me tongue pierced, &i had that for well over 6 months, so i think i'd be pretty capable in hiding these, honestly. plus, i'm turning 18 soon. (ahhh! thats so scary to say! i'm getting old!)

It always looked like a good spot to me, and I never had any other problems with it.  What freaked me out the most was that it didn't even hurt when it tore my ear, haha.

It could be that my tragus is just small and that i'd had it for so long the hole was getting bigger until it "let go", but to be honest, my body accepts piercings really well and i've never had so much as an infection... it could have been a freak thing.

maybe if the bar was more secure &thick it wouldn't have torn? a bar like the one i have in the OP?

plh - I think they are both neat but the traqus I like more. And I think it would suit you!

you know a monroe would look really good on you I think. Have you thought about that?
