How many pigged out on Thanksgiving?
How many of us out there pigged out on Thanksgiving?
Whats an easy way to get back on track tomorrow?
Yo!
Just get back on track. That's easy, right?
I think the most important thing is that you dont feel guilty about it. In fact, if you have been restricting yourself for awhile, the extra calories may boost your mestabolism (feel better, yet?). And dont worry about what the scales read either. Just focus on the fun you had over Thanksgiving, but start watching the calorie intake again today (or maybe tomorrow if your house is like mine with lots of dessert left, LOL). Remember, one day or two, f your me who had TWO Thanksgiving dinners in a row, will not "ruin" your diet.
I'm really proud of myself, I stuck with one portion of turkey, potato and vegetables. Nor dressing, gravy or cranberry sauce.
I did have a small desert but at the end of the day I was at my target calorie intake and still lost 2 lbs for the week.
I didn't have a typical thanksgiving, so I didn't get much of a change to pig out on the yumminess of it.
However, the person I was staying with has tons of snacking food instead of real food. I don't keep snacking food in my house for a reason! Although the nice thing is that I'm down a lb from last week...Haha.
wow jealous!
I pigggged out majorly. I decided to make thanksgiving a whole weekend event because I came home for the weekend. That went horribly bad, and I binged all weekend, plus I had a wedding on the saturday!!
Back on track today, just my usual routine.
btw. I brought turkey up to university. mmm so much better than frozen meals
I have been doing so well for the last month and then Thanksgiving reared its ugly head. I had two dinners and overate at both. Back on track today and hope I am not disappointed when I stand on the scale.
I pigged out but I had planned it.
I ate maintenance all weekend. I figured it's the holidays; I'm allowed!
The raisin pie was *so* good - I really should drop by my folks' house and see if there's any leftovers...
Did I sleep through Thanksgiving 2008? What's up folks?

Believe it or not lol we have thanksgving here in Canada :)
wow brydon, good job! I can never pass on the gravy. I think I could just pour myself a bowl of gravy and then add turkey, dressing, veggies and mix it all together in one big gloopy, gross looking mess. But I never have.
I was so full from the meal (1/2 C coleslaw, 1 sm serving of ham, 1 1/2C potato scallop, 1 stuffed potato, 1C veggie casserole, sliver of pumpkin pie, 1C Skor trifle), that even though it was at 2pm, I was very uncomfortable right up til bedtime, 9hrs later!
The bad news is I'm showing a gain on the scales, but the good news is I think my stomach has shrunk a bit, because I used to be able to eat so much more.
Thank goodness Christmas is 2 months away!
It is rediculous! I went 300 calories over my target, and today the scale says that gained me 4 lbs:) I know, I know...water or something from all the extra salt and stuff...gave me a start though
I am planning on doing a nice 2-3 hour bike ride in the morning when Thanksgiving rolls around here in U.S. Mmmm turkey and mashed potatoes.
Well I didn't eat much during the day (oatmeal breakfast, a FibreOne bar etcetc) so when the food came I was rather hungry... I ended up going back for seconds, which is something I haven't done in forever. (Thankfully it was all seconds in vegetables)
It was the large piece of pie+icecream that did me in in the end... butI stepped on the scale the next day for a weekly weigh in and didn't even gain any water weight.. and even lost a pound after a few days (when I seemed to be stuck at 122/3 :'D).
Just goes to show you cheat days are a good thing in moderation ![]()
I ate everything in sight. LOL.
Turkey + pumpkin pie + mashed potatoes + peas + barbecue + other random crap.
I'm over it now, lol.
The best motivation to get back on track = the scale. As soon as I saw those numbers rise, I knew what I had to do. =)
I over indulged too. But I had a great Thanksgiving weekend and I'm happy to be getting back into my routine! Glad I wasn't not the only one who fell off the wagon for a little bit; I was feeling kind of guilty! :)

Chantal,
Thank you so much for the information! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I love your country. We have done a lot of rving in your beautiful provincial parks. Excuse my being so uninformed!
Barbara
Hope you all had a nice thanksgiving in Canada!
For thanksgiving here I plan on indulging a little bit, like i may have a slice of pumpkin pie, don't know if i can resist. I think its perfectly normal to indulge at special times otherwise i would prob go a bit crazy lol but you just get back on track the next day.
I am also thinking about running a 5 mile race scheduled for thanksgiving morning, but haven't made my mind up about that yet!
