I'm 57 years old, in Pikesville, and hope to drop about 40-45 lbs  off my 180 to ease the hiking pains... we like to go to Shenandoah and do the trails there.

I'm also participating in a weight loss v.s. exercise study in folks 50+ that is being done by the Veterans Hospital and UMD.  They are still taking volunteers, btw.  That will give me the opportunity to work with a registered dietitian --an cc is very useful to provide a food log for her.  Easier for me, than the pencil and paper or spreadsheet!   Of course there are a lot of tests that come along with the study, but seems like a fair trade if it keeps me on track.

I find that just keeping a food log is enough to keep me from snacking on some junk.  I find that is probably the most valuable tool, as long as I really record every single thing I eat.
