Sweetie, stop. Just stop. I know what you're thinking and feeling, but really, you have to stop. I can tell from this post that you want to gain weight in theory, but you'd probably much rather be able to eat whatever you want (which is what you may be doing now) and never gain weight. That won't happen, but you will feel better. If you are anxious, perhaps you can be prescribed ativan or xanax in order to help you deal with tension as you eat.

There is no concrete evidence connecting the pill to weight gain. There is evidence suggesting that the DEPO shot causes weight gain. The weight gain related to the pill is usually initial and related to bloating due to hormones. It doesn't happen to everyone, it didn't happen to me. But your other post- bones - talks about getting bone density back, and the pill will help you there.

So... do you want to get a fracture going up the stairs one day in the near future? Or would you take 2 pounds of bloating in your boobs?

i take your point must try and let this ed get a grip on me sorry to be such a pain h x

you're not a pain, I'm feeling your pain. battling the voices and the urges is really hard. but I'm a runner, and every time my ankle hurts, I think about how COOL I thought it was when I got really thin after my first baby was born and my period never came back (I breast fed). How COOL it was when I ran 6.5 miles when I was starving and exhausted. Then it was so NOT cool when injury sidelined me (this relates back to your bones post too). You're getting better - and so this is where it gets tough, where it gets crucial.

You have to remind yourself that... THIS is the GREAT TIME when your body WANTS you to go crazy with food! Don't worry, your appetite WILL sort itself out, you will NOT eat and eat and eat into a state of morbid obesity. You'll just be hungry until your body feels better and until your hunger/satiety impulses are restored.

The Depo shot is the only birth control that has shown strong correlation with weight gain.  That said, often times birth control pills can have a placebo effect--a bit of a self-fulfilling prophesy if you will.  Unfortunately, there is no magic pill for what you're wanting to accomplish.  But you're a smart girl, and you're strong, and you will be healthy again.  It just takes a little work, that's all.  :o)

thanks bsho youve been most helpful and i certainly can relate to your feelings . im pleased for you you managed to have a baby its something im worried will never happen to me , i guess its just a case of feel the fear do it anyway h x

Well, for me it had a lot of side effects... In just six months I gained 30 pounds and now I have cellullite because of that :X That's due to water retention...

But the side effects really depends on the person... I had bad luck, hope you aren't like me!
