Any pills I should be taking?
Hello all.
I have always wondered this, but never knew where to ask it....until now that is.
Is there any type of pills or anything you would recommend taking while dieting and exercising? Like any vitamins, or anything that will help keep my body healthy while dieting. I am dieting healthy, but I'm sure there is something out there can can make my dieting even more healthy. Also, what is the best thing for energy before a work out? Pill form or not, doesn't matter. I just need something to give me a little kick of energy sometimes.
Any suggestions?
I personally, have a diet regimen.
I take:
Omega3 fish oil capsules (healthy fats yeaaah!)
Lysine-100 (supposed to help with those large acne under the skin that are hard bumps)
Biotin (hair and nails)
And women's one a day (has basically everything!)
Oh man, that lysine sounds incredible. I get those horrible under the skin zits all the time now from working out. I try and wash my face after every work out, but they still emerge out of no where! I'm gonna those.
Thank you!
This is just what I do:
I have a bottle of VitC pills, a bottle of Multivitamin/erals, and a bottle of Calcium pills. I watch what I'm taking in on this site - (go to My Account->Analysis->and hover over the date if you don't know where to find it) and if, by supper-ish time I haven't fulfilled close to 100% of those things, I take the appropriate supplement.
Remember to check the RDA on supplements if you take them! If you're not sure how much of something you should be getting daily, just Google 'RDA x-vitamin' and it's pretty easy to find out. You don't want to take too much of anything consistently.
For a kick before a workout? I don't take a pill, but I've read that protein/fibre helps - maybe try eating a banana or a peice of bread with peanut butter 45mins or so before?
If anything, you won't get hungry during it :p
i take my medication as prescribed and i have added the fish oil and b-12. it gives me a little boost of energy and it also helps with burning of fat.
plus a vitamin a day is good
I take a once-daily Omega-3 Fish oil softgel a day. That helps with your heart and has also shown positive results for people who suffer from depression or bipolar disorder.
I will also supplement a vitamin A periodically for my skin (watch your amounts---you can OD on that).
I also have, but have not been taking, a women's multiviatmin.
I am actually eating quite healthy for the most part, so I am not all that worried about not getting the proper nutrients. I have added lots of fruits and vegetables to my diet recently. I think it is still important to supplement so what you might miss in your daily diet, but by no means should a multivitamin be used to replace the nutrients you get from food. Food nutrients are the best, most natural way to feed yourself.
Good luck!
i always take a women's multivitamin and a once-daily fish oil.
i also have vitamin c that i take if i'm feeling like i might be getting sick, potassium bc i occasionally get pretty bad cramps in my calves and it can be good to help keep you hydrated before a night out, and coQ10 with vitamin E which are good antioxidants and i should probably take one every day. i just hate having a handful of pills to take all the time.
I take a multivitamin/eral, omega3 fish oil and Calcium with vitamin D every morning, I might add more calcium later on after dinner if my level is not right yet.
[edit] forgot my 500 mg extra vitamin C
Can I drink coffee without raising my sodium intake?
