Recipe Ingredients for Pinaputok na Tilapia

500 g Tilapia Fillets
80 g Tomatoes Sliced
80 g Sliced Onion
1 (20 g) Coriander Leaves (sprigs)
10 g Ginger Root
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1/2 cup cooking oil

Recipe Directions for Pinaputok na Tilapia

  1. Clean tilapia fish and take off scales. Make 2 slits on both side of the fish. Fry the fish in oil.

  2. Stuff tilapia fish with sliced tomatoes, ginger, onions, parsley etc. Set aside.

  3. In one square of aluminum foil add some sliced onions and tomatoes. This will serve as the bedding for the fish. Place the stuffed tilapia fish in the center and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add some remaining stuffing on top of the fish before folding.

  4. Wrap fish tightly by simply folding all edges of foil and make sure its tight as possible.

  5. Steamed approximately 30 - 40 minutes or until the wrapper is inflated and close to popping.

  6. Remove from oven and serve.

  7. Enjoy your pinaputok na tilapia!
