pink patch = weight loss?
so i've been seeing all these advertisements for the Pink Patch. looks like a nicotine patch, but for food. ha! seriously, it's supposed to help boost metabolism and curb hunger. it claims to be a diet for non-dieters. i normally would think it's just another lame diet fad, but now people i talk to are getting it. even if it is a lame fad, as long as it helps shed a bit of pound-age i'm willing to try it.
anyone heard of, tried, or thinking of trying this out?
Actually I have been thinking about trying this also. Especially since everytime I go onto my Myspace I see the advertisement with the skinny girl with the pink patch on her hip. And since I hate taking a lot of pills and they usually are big for diet pills a patch seems easier. I haven't bought it yet but am seriously thinking about it. If you do get it let me know how it goes.
ditto. i see it on myspace and every time i'm in my yahoo email (which is constantly). i looked online and you can get a week free trial then one month is like $40. there's a four month value pack, but i'm not sure i'd buy into 4 months without trying it out first.
i know, it's a bit pricey, but better than swallowing down up to six diet pills a-day (which is typical for most brands).
I never heard of this so I looked it up because I was curious. Apparently it is a pretty big scam! Here is what I found be looking through reviews, I hope this helps you guys make a choice.
well poop. that blows my pink patch theory. looks like it's pills after all. i'll have to just head to gnc and find something that doesn't cost a fortune. :-/
but that sure is a helpful little website. thanx lillysmominpa
maybe that leptitrex pill works. we'll see....

Skip GNC, your money's beter spent at the grocery store and on your gym membership.
eh, i eat right and am fairly active (thanks to being in the military). but i want faster results. who doesn't? i want to at least add a little umph to my weight loss. been hitting a plateau and need something to kick it all into gear again.
Ever hear the phrase if something sounds too good to be true it probably is? How do you feel about slapping on a patch and magically losing weight?
Also a friend of mine worked for a company that marketed the diet patch. All day long he fielded emails from angry, scammed people.
The only thing diet pills will make lighter is your wallet. There is no "magig pill" that will make you thin, if there were no one would be overweight.
How about instead of wasting your time thinking abuot, researching and asking about these 'quick fixes' you start eating healthy food and exercising? just a thought...
wow, the question was about an ad i saw. shesh.
i do eat well. i do exercise. i was only curious. but thanks for the positive, if not a little negatively assuming, feed back.
I just wanted to say, you're dogs are soooo cute! Sorry some people on here were a bit harsh with the responses. Its been happening more and more lately, I don't really get it. I guess its bound to happen when you get so many kinds of different people together. (Just yesterday I had to block someone, we won't get into that
). Good luck on your weight loss! I am with you on wishing the weight would come off faster, but I guess it takes a while to gain, so it takes a while to lose too.
amen to that. and i appreciate it. ![]()
thanx abt my doggies. yours is a cutie too. my friends got a rot puppy a year and a half ago. it got BIG fast. sorta like a small horse. haha.
Almost bought this one but then I read the small print about the payments and that you have to give your card details to the site to get the free trial and if you don't cancel they will just take the money out for a another months supply and keep on sending until you cancel.
Im not saying they wouldn't honer this but iv had too many bad experience with company's thats didn't keep there free trial agreements and choose not to take the risk besides I don't think there is anything that could curb my chocolate cravings, I figured if it becomes worth getting it will be talked about everywhere.
hey everyone.
im on the pink patch.
i got the free sample and they took my card detials, it was easy to cancel after. but then i got an email for a special offer and i got 2 months for the price of one. i rang up a week later and they said its fine to cancel the debit again.
im not sure if its the patches that made the difference or because i took up exercise but i did lose 6 pounds in a few weeks which isnt bad!
DO NOT USE THE PINK PATCH!! I fell for the free trial. I used it about 10 days and here I am about 30 days later for the first time in my life with no period. I am 31 yrs old and have always been regular. I have experienced major side affects from this so called "no side affect" patch. I had massive migranes, itching under my tongue and in my ear and now a loss of my menstrual cycle. The patch while I was on it did not curb my cravings, the only thing I did experience was the small boost of energy. Please be aware of this possible dangerous patch! I also read that one of the ingredients in large doses can cause kidney failure. Please be careful.

I tried it and it was a rip-off, plus the company has horrible service. If anything, I actually ate more than usual. It did not "curb my cravings" at all...

I've gone through several levels of management and have decided to go to the Better Business Bureau. I've seen several people post that they had problems with the company too, so I'm going to suggest that everyone file a complaint then we might actually get our money back.
While I do agree that the ad looks tempting, once I clicked on the link and was taken to the website for The Pink Patch, it was pretty clear in my mind that it was not a legitimate or healthy weight loss aid. The claims and photos are all directed towards younger girls, which I find to be manipulative since body image issues are always more enhanced at younger ages, when our brain hasn't fully developed and we are more emotional, sensitive, and intent on achieving a "perfect" body image. Further, the description of the ingredients and their purposes was written in a persuasive and limited context. It is OBVIOUS they are not presenting the complete ingredient information.
Anyway, that is how I perceived the website. However the information presented did convince me of one thing----if I were still 16 this site would look very appealing, as they have worked very hard to communicate and present the information to younger girls.
It's smart to research things no matter what age you are. I certainly hope others who haven't researched this product and are trying it will see for themselves the true and reality of this product through thorough research. Here are some websites that have done research into The Pink Patch's claims:
http://thebeautybrains.com/2008/03/12/does-th e-pink-patch-weight-loss-patch-really-work/
http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/health/news id_7452000/7452145.stm
http://www.fitsugar.com/1707849
Tidbits from the above sites:
"The site blatantly markets the patch towards teenage girls with statements such as, "You WILL Have the Hottest Body and the Dream Life," and "Wear the Pink Patch and you WILL boost your confidence and self-esteem," even though at the very bottom of the site there is a disclaimer that the product is not recommended for children under 18 years of age. If that were the case, why is it all in pink and white? Why do the models look like they are 14 years old and why do the testimonials refer to high school and being popular?"
"Doctors have told Newsbeat they are worried about a "sinister" new diet patch that specifically targets young women and teenagers who don't need to lose weight. "
Oh and girls, when you are researching through online diet websites, please remember that if the site is trying to SELL you the product, or has a way you can purchase it, they are PROMOTING the product and are not an objective or accurate research base. Anyone promoting the sell of a product will continue to represent facts manipulatively. Good luck!![]()
I got a free trial, tried it for a few days & the word 'placebo' springs to mind. I still felt hungry & didn't feel any energy boost.
Be better off with just writing your goal weight on the back of your hand to remind you not to pig-out.
Don't like how they market it either. I just find the use of the word 'skinny' to market weight loss patches a bit disturbing. It's all over myspace & facebook, I keep getting loads of spam messages from them even before I tried the free trial. If they have to put that much effort into promoting their product is it really any good??
Oh & one more thing that all diet pills/patches advise - "All successful weight loss programs should include a sensible meal plan and an exercise program to be completely effective"
Yeh - skinny magic patch my happily ample a*s!

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
Take the Diet Profile Test and learn to avoid the pitfalls and self-sabotage that often come with your personal profile.
