140 for a slice of cheese pizza? Could that possibly be right? A slice of pizza with a side of vegetables is a VERY filling meal for me! If pizza really is 140 calories per slice I wouldn't be avoiding it really. Does anyone have any insight?

It's all about size and ingredient composition. The 140-calorie pizza in the database is 63 grams, but if you look up Papa John's, one slice from a large is 132 grams, clocking in at 300 calories.

And no matter the weight, it depends on whether it's made from full-fat cheese, low-fat cheese, what kind of sauce, etc.

Look at some frozen pizzas if you really want a calorie scare.  A typical 20 oz pizza is 1500-2000 calories.  Eat one and you've had all your daily calories.

The pizza place my family orders from is homemade, not a chain. I order the pizza with "part skim" cheese and it is cut into 16 slices. I normally eat 3 (so like 1 1/2 of an 8 slice pizza) and that's how I log it. Is this all wrong?

what is the total size of the pizza? and is it thin or regular crust?

do you know if they brush the crust with olive oil? Most good pizzarias do that.

140 seems a bit low but it's hard to understand how big it is without knowing the total size of the pizza.

140 is about the amount of calories that Domino's lists as one slice of their medium thin-crust pizza. I think Pizza Hut is about 180. If your pizza is a regular slice, it's probably closer to 300 per slice. For homemade pizza that I've made, I think the regular crust alone is about 200 calories per 1/8 slice.

those dunkin doughnut TINY pizzas are...... dunno, i forget.

i think 400 a circle? but the circles are TINY.

circle = pie i mean...
